Our First Origin Ship Review, The 85X Limited, AKA the 85X. I wish I knew about this ship a long time ago. Ships like this are why I'm reviewing every ship! Balance has been brought to the Snub's. Comment below what you think are the best and worst things about the ship we're reviewing, add some helpful tips, and share your rating from 1 to 10. 10 being the highest!

When there's a passenger the pilot loses control of the turret to the passenger. Passenger Holds F and chooses Enter turret from the inner thought. They get full 360 spin with it. I love my 85x . I use it with my carack and 890 when I'm guiding new players so they can get some fun gunnery practice with it which they wouldn't get form the C8X.

The fact that this ship has zero storage of any kind (afaik), makes it kind of pointless for anything else but just getting from point a to point b. Running distortion weapons on it is an interesting choice though, are you going to board other ships with it, or is it a defensive tactic? If it's a defensive tactic, why not QT out?

Yep it has storage, as in the hold F and right click option at the pilot entry to transfer from your own loot, just like the light fighters.

The best thing about using this ship to pick up random people with is they try to get in on the drivers side and you get to tell them "bro have you never gotten into a car before?"

The Origin 85x is one of the only Origin ships that I don't have. I was tempted to get it when I wanted a smaller runabout but went with the 125a. It's a fun little ship, and still the smallest with a co-pilot controlled turret. If they added a docking port to the lower deck of the 600i when the rework is done, I'd buy one _that day._ And I really hope that it'll get a rework with an STV-type cargo area, a couple of external gunracks, spots for mission boxes, and _maybe_ another couple for personal storage.

I've always REALLY liked this one. I guess I just buy in game though. I'm imagining this being my main shuttle to larger ships with hangers. Edit: wait you put 7 and said 6...

Best ship for picking up strangers, they can board but cannot shoot you. If you go into scm mode they can use the remote turret. If you pay expidited fee its claim is instant, makes it a perfect moon to station or planet runner for a ship in a different hangar. My kid loves doing vlt bounties in this ship!

This. It's my uber rp vehicle. It flys kinda wonky at times though. During this patch I left it in my hanger to test the dust collection and it gets progressively nastier. Like left in the woods for years nasty.

The original version of this ride, was stylish and could immediately be identified as Origin! Then, they put some unknown on re-doing it, apparently to reduce the overall size. But sadly, that guy seems to have never taken a glance at a single Origin ship! The current abomination looks like a bargain basement Korean subcompact shitter, with vinyl coverings of the cheapest sort. The outer hull is no better! The word LUXURY will not out as you stand looking at it, mouth agape in shock!

I upgraded my referral bonus merlin to the 85X, so that my snub has a QD and a second seat....i don't regrett it, but haven't had to use it much. Ever since the Medbed upgrade i use the C8XR instead. But the stranger pickup sounds good, have to remember that.

I could see this being a ripe target for early "escort" missions, protecting some low level executive and their partner going form planet to moon and getting ambushed on landing by a pair of little things like Pulses, Dragonflies, or Cylcones. Some C2 pilot just plops down and lands on the criminals lol.

Having 4 size 2 weapons now definitely improves the appeal of this ship. It would be nice if it had data storage so it could be a data runner with either the VIP on board or hired security.

Note, not a variant per se, but back in 2017ish there was a version with a Valentines Day paint scheme that is pretty neat. I have one in buy backs for the collector in me. 😊

I didn’t know it had a remote turret. That’s kinda cool. Seems like a good ship to use to jet around a planetary system to get between stations that have other ships you care to use and don’t want to claim.

I used to fly this like a banshee and once did a prison evac with 890 and 85x and we escaped a missile like 10 meters said my passenger at last second qt engagement

got one, is fun to lowfly with and handy if you want to travel between a leo station and planetside if you dont want to use one of your bigger ships just to drop down to go get another big ship from planetside or to pick up some fps gear from say like a vendor and then getting it back to the leo station.

Two things. You _say_ a 6. But your graphic was for a 7. As to improving it... Here's a wild idea. Give it a retractable turret with an oversized tractor-beam on it. Turn it into a rich-person's MPUV Tractor. Only, it can only be controlled by the second person. Because the pilot needs to stay focused on making sure no paint gets scratched.

Use it to ferry around strangers you dont quite trust, because they are locked in the passenger seat they cant sneak attack you during the ride.

6:38 says 6, shows 7. Right now, I'd rate it a 6 (when compared to the C8X) I just find it a little out classed by other snubs (that have QT drives). I would rate it higher if it had a ship that it could dock with like the conni's snub.
