Even if you had chronic leprosy, you could still count on your fingers the amount of bands that are this good. I saw them play to less than 30 people and they still gave it EVERYTHING.
i saw them open up for cannibal corpse waaay back. i think it was their first tour. i saw them in the tiniest dirtiest little club in tulsa. i was blown away that corpse was even playing this place. but alex webster came out during their set. we was amazed at the bassist. we were discussing his technique. he said that he never misses their set. he said it got him pumped up before their set.
I saw them at Summer Breeze Open Air in the scorching heat, I think something happened with the bassist so they played the set without him. They still went fucking nuts haha it was great.

Man it's so weird cuz i was listening to their music and i swear i came up with about half of these tracks in my head for a makeshift Origin set where i got to choose the songs
so fakn tight live it's ridiculous. best band live period. I stood there slack jawed for the first three songs, and they only thing I could manage to say was holy shit.
I saw that tour in Austin. I'd never heard of them before and they were fucking mind blowing. Needless to say they made a new fan that night. I left the show with Origin, Deicide, and Jungle Rot shirts.
I'm pretty sure I've watched every full show origin video of acceptable quality at least twice. Not saying that this quality is only acceptable. This is fucking amazing and saint vitus always seem to have such a great crowd. It's a shame however that there's an extreme shortage of good full Cattle Decapitation show videos. If they do ever come to Saint Vitus, please be there! Your work is always appreciated.
It's stuff like this that honestly makes me genuinely concerned over how all 3 of those guys are able to play all of this without their hands/arms ever getting tired. i have problems playing (non-technical) death metal on bass sometimes. - everything done here by Ryan and co is unbelievable amounts of dexterous work
that speech the singer gave about phones max fucking respect. i hate when the douche in front of me feels the need to hold his camera up and record the WHOLE show. this dude is my new hero
that might have been the fastest 'the aftermath' i've come across. My god john is unbelievably fast and precise. And nobody does it like him! He makes most metal drummers look lazy
Jason is the man!! Had an opportunity to talk him in a small venue in Oakland back in 2019 or so. He's very approachable and nice guy, we were talking about the stage divers, his sick job in Skinless and shit. Anyhow, can't wait to see them live again. Origin rocks !!

Fucking killer band and gig! Love them! The intro they use here is an OST to the creepy, weird ass movie about an alien on Earth, called "Under the Skin" I love this OST. Arthouse madness.
The only way it would get any crazier in this genre is if halfway through the show they switched to playing lefty. (John already counts his symmetry is insane, so his plus-up would be adding 4th vocals hahaha) “Origin's music is characterized by almost exclusive use of several specific, difficult playing techniques; blast beats,[5] multiple death growled vocals,[5][6] and arpeggios and sweep picking on both the guitars and the bass guitar.[4] Their songs often have uneven, shifting time signatures” (Wiki)
As i sit in my trailer wishing i could mosh. Jason Keyser is such a great frontman. He makes your show the most fun you've ever had at a death metal show, i don't like slipknot but they work the crowd amazingly, and Keyser is even more fun. No talking smack, just working us like no other. Forget Walls of death, Chicken fights, and circle pits, they're for wusses, combine em and now your at a modern Origin show. I love James Lee's vocals, but he isn't much of a frontman live, great vocals, but just a fat sloth roaming the stage.
Hahaha...I think most just get taken away by the ferocity of the sound. I remember the first time I saw them. I was in awe! I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I was standing right in front of James Lee the whole time. Their timing is in impeccable & there’s a lot going on. I spoke to James after as well, he’s cool as hell.
