Plot twist.... Catwoman getting married to Batman and having his kid = damn near legal way to potentially take or inherit Wayne enterprises...I kno I'm not the only one thinking this..
88bcbrick I really don’t wanna believe that but you’re so right..... I’d hate her but that would make a very interesting story, especially if there’s something bigger planned bts
I saw a comment somewhere that perfectly describes The Designer: "The idea that someone is playing 12-dimensional chess so far in advance that they can see the Joker evolve from being a goofy prankster to an apocalyptic ultra-villain is terrifying. That'd be like meeting a young art student and knowing then he'd ignite one of the most devastating wars the world had ever seen. It boggles the mind."
Granted no art student ever ignited a devastating war. But it sounds like an interesting premise for a Batman villain As long as that art student is seperated enough from Hitler obviously
It's horrifying if you think about it. We've seen the evil clown shoot Barbara Gordon in the groin and leave her paralyzed then try to drive Jim Gordon mad, beat the living shit out of Robin with a crowbar, regularly abuse Harley Quinn, obtain 99% of Mr. Mxyzptlk's powers and devour the entire population of China for shits and giggles, shoot Jim Gordon's wife in front of a large group of babies, nuke Metropolis using a pregnant Lois as a bomb, cut off the faces of Batman's "family", regularly try to poison Gotham with deadly laughing gas, goad Dick Grayson into killing him by harming Tim Drake, skin a man alive at a strip club, break his own neck to frame Batman for murder, turn the citizens of Gotham into zombies, kill people for practice, murder 19 police officers, release a hailstorm of broken glass, blow up an entire school, sell poisoned cotton candy, and try to copyright Joker-ized fish...and that's just the tip of the iceberg. What the hell could the Joker be able to do if his full potential was realized?!
What if Joker supposedly 'killing' the Designer was his plan all along. That somehow he convinced the Joker to work for him - being the only one of the people to manipulate the Joker or at least use Joker's mind against him (that even Batman cant understand). Makes him a more interesting character imo
looks like the Rorschach mixed with Kraven the Hunter(weapon wise) he better be still alive since he just got shot in the back and as an new villain he looks sweet and majestic just what for him to come back to the Joker.
DC made Batman's Rogues Galley by picking each of Batman's persona and identity and turn it to extreme and up notch. This time the Designer is Batman's prudent and man-behind-the-scene persona plus James Moriarty x10.
Joker told him that he wanted to take control of Konami and then transform Silent Hill, Metal Gear and Castlevania into Pachinko Machines. No wonder The Designer wanted to kill him after hearing such a horrifying and evil plan
That was funny as hell how he spends time talking with Joker then immediately comes out of the room "kill them all" lol. He saw true evil that day and wanted to kill it.
So, which one is worst? Having a "chat" with Joker for an hour straight. Or Getting tortured by him (not killed) for 30 minutes. (Basically live in total hell by either mentally or physically :))
Was it a mistake? They both see eye to eye. Joker cares more about beating his advisory than he does money or power, the same could be said about the Designer. My theory is that it was Jokers plan was to set all this up. There was a reason their conversation was so much longer compared to all the others. Their plan had actual depth, much deeper than that of the other villains as it intertwined all those plans together. Also the man Joker shot was one of his henchmen dressed up as him.
God I love new age batman villains; the court of Owls, Talon, Anarchy, Mr. Bloom, the Batman who laughs and now Designer. Hyped to see what’s in store for the future of Batman villains Also, who else picked up on the Adam West reference by having it be those four villains as the ones used
dude even batman beyonds Rogues gallery is awesome royal flush gang, blight, Kobra, ink, spellbinder, shriek, stalker , currare. I know marvel fans get mad at it but Batman has the best Rogues Gallary out of any comicbook like X-men is the only one that can come close.
FoxRNG I mean that a makes sense. The scarecrows been told, we all know his story and gimmick and yea he is used a ton in other media (specifically looking at Arkham Knight) but comics are the cheapest and safest way for DC to debut new characters. Imagine if a Batman movie had its main villain be some new character that DC isn’t sure audiences would even like
It's awesome that a master criminal consultant "The Designer" can enter a room with "The Joker" & come out hours later so freaked out that he aborts his plans and says "Kill them all, Gotham is F#$KED!"
I feel like everyone’s misinterpreting the whole “Kill then all” situation. If his meeting with Joker caused the Designer to deem him a lost cause, he would’ve murdered the Joker in his office, not simply leave the Joker u n a t t e n d e d. My main theory (I see this is pretty common in the comments) is that this whole thing is a part of the Joker’s plan from the Designer. It has to be. There’s literally no other way any of this could make sense.
He wouldn't kill the Joker in his office. He'd create a scheme so that others would wind up killing the Joker for him. He's a schemer, that's his whole thing.
Plot twist: The events that are playing out is actually the design he made for the Joker. Which probably included his betrayal in one of the steps. Hence why he and the Joker talked for hours.
It’s exactly why they talked for hours. Joker was the only one who saw the endgame. Catwoman wanted money. Penguin wanted Power. But Joker sought something much more than either of those. He wanted, to simply beat the Bat. Like how Designer said he stopped doing crimes for the fortune, but simply to beat his adversary. Him and Joker both share that goal. Which is why he was chosen to fulfill the most important role.
My guess is he didn't and the new Designer is actually his old detective rival who faked his death, now he's come back to test himself against the new Worlds Greatest Detective and prove he's still as good
Don't know. How can the Designer out "Moriarty," Al Ghul, the Joker, Hush, and so many others? This is an example of how the comics industry try to keep upping the villlains and heroes until they're almost not human, and try to out shock the previous shock in comics.
Ok... Designer fought Zorro. I think. Well, i think it due to the design of a person he fights and how he draws similarity between his adversary and Batman. Both are great fighters, both have the secret cave, both are wealthy man fighting crime and injustice and both are very inteligent detectives. I know there are also leads towards Sherlock Holmes, but he isn't a fighting guy. He is alsl remembered, while Zorro basically faded into obscurity, "A shade of former self"
It’s a little early but this guy doesn’t strike me as a game changer yet. He’s not showing me anything the other badass master criminals can’t do. He’s Hush. He’s Calendar Man. He’s Bane.
The Ironic is that all Four Villains got what they wanted without the Designer's help, despite the circumstances, The Penguin became The "King of Gotham" for a time by becoming a Crime Lord, The Riddler became known as the" Gotham's Smartest Criminal" by several of her followers and henchmen, Catwoman became Gotham's Richest Woman by romantically bonding with and nearly marrying Batman/Bruce Wayne and The Joker actually took the Designer's place from both that he used the same one the Designer used to resurrect and control zombies including the dead body of the Designer himself.
i feel like every batman villain is his Moriarty, Joker, Hush, His older brother, Ras Al'Ghul, Batman who laughs, even Ridler and Owlman to some extent...
Seeing batman battle mystery guy( designer)on a blimp reminded me of batman and joker fighting on one back when joker would do stuff like putting his face on fish lol and way designer looks sitting at desk at 6:05 ... this might be one of the other jokers
This arc was dumb. The writers the designer’s backstory vague enough to the point where when the twist is revealed that joker just kills him, you feel nothing because you basically know nothing about him except he is potentially at one point clever. Also I know it’s comics but joker wouldn’t be able to take over a huge city for weeks without gaining the attention of larger forces like other superheroes or the Justice league. Usually joker’s crimes although ranging in scale, opt to specifically cause batman turmoil and they never truly reach justice league levels of destruction or something. And this “3 jokers” plot point was set up a while before and Jason killing one near the start and another joker killing one at the end, returning to the status quo of 1 joker feels anticlimactic. Although I’v heard similar opinions before on this arc so I’m sure this isn’t any special hot take of mine or something.
kinda obvious that the designer designed a scene where joker kills him so everyone forgets his existence and only remembers at the right moment where he can strike. Also puts a convenient answer for the audience if they ever ask the question " why has no one ever mentioned him in the past?"
I think I understood what happened. The one who joined the other villains is the same one seen in the grave is Artie. Then what happened in the room is that there were 3 people Joker Artie, Designer and X. Designer killed Joker Artie thinking it was the original while X (Designer dress) came out saying to kill the other 3 outsiders. After this Designer discards the body of Joker Artie, takes the identity of the Joker and kills X dressed as Designer.
Thank you so much for this video .. you guys put a smile on my face . makes my day bit better . Of course because of the fact what's going on around the world .. if reality was so we need a Batman now...
The Designer’s plans sound similar to the Knight-fall stories, and i wouldn’t be surprised if he was inspired because of it. It’d be a good twist to find out that the designer survived, and that the events that were transpiring were part of his plan for the joker, since they share a common motivation in terms of their nemesis
So as someone who hasn’t read the comics and by now doesn’t where to jump in or anything, I know a lot about what things have happened in the Batman mythos thanks to videos on channels like this and my own research and stuff. But these latest villains like The Batman Who Laughs, The Designer and the Three Jokers story make me wish I had a way to read these stories. The Designer looks really freaking awesome and I hope he becomes part of the popular Batman villains! I think it’s really cool there are villains being created that in a decade’s time could be considered staples of Batman’s rogues, like Two-Face, Joker and Catwoman and the like are now!
For me, Batman has the second best rogues gallery in fiction, and the first being that of Sherlock Holmes. And since Sherlock Holmes is the most repeated literature series ever, there is no doubt in that, but that's a huge thing to award Batman second place. It shows u how good his rogue' s gallery is
I hear Anti-Harley and immediately I picture a Joker trap getting re rigged so it catches both bats and Joker, Punchline laughing away as she’s says something something kinda Harley like “You should see your faces Sugah!” And as she’s leaving Joker just turns to Batman and goes “Quite the catch with this one eh bats? Now, what’s your plan to save us? Hahahahaha” 😂🤣
