C'mon guys; Rudy and the Shadow King shoot down the hallway because that is Rudy activating his telekinetic powers (which we've seen before) in a final moment of sacrifice to save the others before he dies. How can he use his powers in the Astral Plane? Its not really explained what can/can't be done there, but we do know that Rudy is a very strong mutant.

But what does the change of the logo on David's shirt mean?! It went from a plain yellow triangle (Pointing to David as the Shadow King?) to a triangle in a circle?

This show deserves all the Emmy awards! This episode blew my mind, my fav of the series so far!

Legion is so amazing, but the best thing is that this interpretation of the Shadow King is so amazing and so scary!

the episode 7 is fucking sick! I like how David create his rational david so he know what happen to his body and mind now the best part is david become just like in the comic he know he is strogest mutant and he can control his power man I can't wait the episode 8!

I liked that they leaned to the comics with the rationale David almost like another personality. I had kind of given up on them exploring the multiple personality angle on the show. Seemed like they just made him "schizophrenic". While it would be interesting if the final twist was it was all in his head and everyone was a personality I think they would let down and lose some viewers with the show getting a second season that seems more and more unlikely.

I seem to recall reading in an interview with Dan Stevens, that even the cast members were confused by which era the series was set in...and when Noah Hawley was asked, he told them it didn't matter. So, I don't think there will ever be a definitive era. I think it's meant to be a mystery...pretty much like the rest of the show. Great analysis, guys. Love your videos.

Every character so far is in Legion or technically is Legion. I strongly feel like that's why we can't get a fix on the time period. All of the show is in his mind, and it's the progression of him getting control over David getting his powers. To me, this seems to make the most logical sense. It's like the movie Inception but sprawled out over Davids overwhelming and complicated personalities.

The exposition scene was just confirming other than explaining, i knew everything David figured out, it's a great scene

I'm think the twist is that these folks represent his various personalities and they represent his multiple powers and this has all been going on in his mind.

I think the big twist and your timeline questions and what happened with Randy can easily be answered by this all being in David's mind. My bet all along has been that all mutants we've seen are David's extra personalities. That explains how Randy was able to tackle the Shadow King right as David was escaping. It also explains the timeline questions. In the Astral realm there is no time. Therefore David whom I believe was born in the 60's and grew up in the 70's but is clearly in his 30's is expressing different versions of what he's been through. So my guess is in reality this is all taking place in the 90's or early 00's where email is around and phone booths have yet to be phased out. The Matrix is a prime example of both existing simultaneously. The reason each mutant appears to be from different times is they are all David's identities that have been projected into the world. Also, I believe the Eye was a personality of the Shadow King all along. The SK can do the same thing David can so it makes sense that it could project a personality just like David. That would be the twist to find out all of the mutants are David's physical projections of the voices he grew up hearing.

The twist is that it is ALL in david's head. Every single person on the team, is just living in his mind and their powers are just a manifestation of david's powers. Just like in the comic.

If hms ambush has been 3 different ships, then maybe it resembles how the shadow king is stuck in the astral realm, so he can come back as many different things. aka lenny, benny, shadow king, and the worlds angriest boy in the world.

I'm pretty sold on KMO TBI being "who are you?" in Russian, but there was something interesting that I found on KMO. I did a search and found that KMO is an abbreviation for Kynurenine 3-monooxygenase, an enzyme in humans: "Aberration of the KMO gene might be the proximal cause of impaired cortical kynurenine metabolism observed in schizophrenia." Similarly, an individual on Reddit pointed out that TBI is a common abbreviation for Traumatic Brain Injury.

haha awesome breakdown! thid was the first episode of the season where i was actually smiling afterwards and not scratching my head but still so many things unanswered. i hope they keep aubrey plaza as one of david's personalities if he gets rid of farouk somehow

I don't think it is all happening just in Davids mind or the astral plane. From a writing standpoint alone that would seem unwise because it devalues so much of the interactions. Same goes with most of the characters just being projections of David's split personality. A wild guess I could think of is that in some way his split persona / subconsciousness / whatever felt it was under siege by the shadow king for a longer time and using his pretty limitless powers to assemble his own perfect rescue team by pulling each of them out of their individual time periods. That would lead to the question: how do they not know that? I have no answer to that yet, but I like the idea, which could provide a meaty narrative for the origins of his helpers and explain the disconnected looks and assertions of time. Even Melanie seems a bit inconsistent about how long her husband was lost.

My guess for "Where did you hide it" is referencing the doll. The Shadow King doll that the shalk shadow king pops out of that looks like him.

This episode really put me thinking about Syd, she's very smart and aware about what is going on, just look at episode 4 and this one. So I watched every episode again, but this time focusing on her... I didn't found anything especial (:c), except that Rachel Keller is a really good actress, I mean, her facial expressions, body lenguage and voice tone are really good for her character's mental state understanding, I even came up with this crazy thought that she might be the viewers point of view in the narrative, realizing things in the hard way, and always cherry-picking the facts to make David looks like a hero... I don't know. Dan Stevens and Aubrey Plaza got all the compliments (very well justified, tho), but I think this girl just stole it.

Ok, I know the parentage of Legion. I think we all have read it sometime in the comics. But we also know that show is a re imagining. So saying that, I identify this strange, almost "mothering" emotion that Melanie is showing toward David. I can't help but think that maybe she is his real mother.

If professor X gave David up as a baby, then maybe professor X planted memories or barriers inside David's mind to help him fight off The Shadow King?!

I think the big twist is that none of the people are real. This has always been a war to defeat the Shadow King and have one personality control David. Similar to the movie Identity with John Cusack.

I think the shadow king has some sort of link to that toy of himself David had asa kid. i think he needs something physical to anchor him to David and is trying to protect it but doesn't know where it is. I also think that's something not quite right with Oliver, and I suspect the shadow king has or will possibly take control of him which is why you see him with the halo in the promo. as for the time line, i don't think there's an easy explanation for that, I think they purposely made things offset time wise just for style.

About Oliver's memory, Either its because he was stuck in there for soo long, or Maybe the Shadow King screwed up his memories like he's done for the others /David

Have you people noticed that in the TV series poster the pink electrified smoke that is all over David, it actually looks like his hair from the comics...

This show may be connected to the show S.H.E.I.L.D considering they use the term "Mutants" which is owned by 20century Fox and Disney's Marvel uses the term "Gifted". Also when the shadow Kind said "what did he do with it" I think he was referring to a way back to the the mortal realm or real life. David probably had access to it as a young child with no mutant defenses and his father tried to hide it from the shadow king or David himself tried hiding it. David is obviously stronger than professor X so the shadow king will have to possess his mind at a young age in order to somewhat try to control him. Marvel really likes to blend there TV shows and cinematic movies together so this really makes me think its connected to some other marvel universe we have already seen. Legion has been Marvels newest universe but i have a really good feeling its apart of another.

KMOBL, I think has to do with the M'Krann crystal. It was used to repower Professor X in the comics. It is from Space, the M'krann race which is also coincidentally in an unknown area of space. I think this is all happening in Davids head and all the characters are David's multi personalities, because all of the characters can see Lenny, since the beginning.

David will probably have an upgraded collar head band halo in the future. I hope professor x will be a new character in the marvel TV universe but i highly doubt it. Stryker's son who was in a wheel chair in X-Men Might possibly show up in this show considering he has similar mutant abilities to the other characters on the show and he has no on screen background information. This is just a prediction like most of my comments.
