I’m definitely not one of those guys who buys multiple copies of a comic to get variant covers, but I love you guys and your channel so much and you have taught me about SO many amazing comics I didn’t know about, that I had to special order the regular, the Eddie P 1:5 and the Jimmy Rugg variants for issues #1 and 2. And now that I know you’re doing at least four, I don’t think I’ll be able to pass em up! Thanks for a detailed look at the originals, very fine work Jim!! As for “indie” themed suggestions, yes TMNT instantly came to mind, but to combine the indie aesthetic with the outlaw theme, I think Faust is a no-brainer. Also a Real Deal homage would be dope, yet most people probably wouldn’t know the reference (But I do thanks to you guys!!!)

I think a Robert Crumb or Gilbert Shelton homage could be pretty funny. Also wanna see what a Simon Hanselmann or Johnny Ryan variant looks like for this twisted book...

Great, great job on the covers, Jim. I think a 1963 (particularly Mystery Incorporated) cover would be my hat in the ring for next variant.

Cover re-creation / homage idea / suggestion: a RED ROOM version of Geoff Darrow's HARD BOILED (the hardcover collection cover illustration where it says TERMINAL on the building)

For the Cartoonist Kayfabe variant you guys should have yourselves in the Killer persona with "RED ROOM" in the same font as your logo, and yourselves in Your killer Personas. Ed on the left, as the "Pittsburgh Impaler," skinning your victim with a bloody knife saying "HACKETY HACK HACK" instead of "YACKETY YAK YAK." And Jim on the right as the "Kayfabe Crusher/Killer" saying "DIE DIE DIE" instead of "BLAH BLAH BLAH." Also it would be dope if you guys drew each side yourselves, and instead of yellow you filled it in red.

I prepaid for 24 copies of RR #1 to get two of Jim's variants and the Peach! I also ordered 30 copies of the FCBD comic for friends and family.

At this point you have to do an Otomo homage of like domu or akira or its not very indy but a 1963 homage would be pretty fun !! Anyway I loved this video !! Seeing original art & how you guys make covers very dope !!

I think a Julie Doucet Dirty Plotte variant cover would be awesome!!! And I really love the Jaime Hernandez variant cover.

Raw Edition of Hard Boiled Defective Stories by Charles Burns has some built in bondage and violence. What I'd really like to see is a desecration of a classic Dell Comic by Carl Barks or John Stanley. Or, if you want to get sued, Archie's Pals 'N' Gals.

How about a Zot! comic or a dark horse present little headshots of the side stories and the main cover one of the clown fighting a xenomorphic alien creature
