This is one of THEIR BEST interviews compared to countless others during the decades. No attitudes... No resentments... taking something old into something new and interesting... making it current and relevant in 2019. Beautiful.
I was 13 in 1969. It was a great year for outstanding music and television shows. The Brady Bunch was one of them. At 8:00 pm every Friday night on Channel 7 (ABC in New York), our family would sit around the first color TV we had purchased as a family. These were unforgettable memories. I wish I could live them again. What a wonderful time in my life.
For us boomers born in the late 50's and early 60's, The Brady Bunch was a part of the fabric of our lives. The 60's and the 70's were such special and beautiful times. Thanks HGTV and Rachel Ray for letting us 'trip with the Brady's' again!
With 8 million viewers, I hope the "Brady Kids" are well compensated this time. Did you know that after the show ended and went into syndication in 1973, the Brady actors only received royalties for 10 months ? (Susan "Cindy" revealed it several years ago). Yet the Network continued to cash in all this time. WTF - so unfair!!! People watch the Brady Bunch to see them, not the Network; hence they should be compensated accordingly. Thank you Barry, Maureen, Christopher, Eve, Mike, Susan.....and, of course, Robert, Florence, and Ann for being part of our lives despite not being fairly paid. Thank you so much!!!
@@CaptainSpalding72 Old news that still affect them....and still unfair! Not every Trek fan watched Star Trek to see Shatner but every Brady fan watch the Brady Bunch to see the actors. That is why they must be paid!
They were probably happy to get those 10 months. The ratings the last year were in the tank, and they probably thought the show would disappear, never to be seen again. Somehow, it became an immediate hit in reruns, and that's why they created the Brady Bunch variety show (was horrible and only lasted nine episodes).
@@roccosophie6498 People have said that he lived a semi-tortured life, being in the closet his whole life, then having to hide his HIV/AIDS status from the world (although his TV family knew) and act happy.
My personal story with Florence Henderson--When I used to live in Nashville, I was an HMUA who did some work for the old Nashville Network. Florence had a show called "Country Kitchen" and she commuted to Nashville from her Kentucky home. One afternoon, I was called in as an emergency to fill in for the regular HMUA to do the hair and makeup for the show. And, the guest was Davy Jones, which turned out to be one of the best episodes of Country Kitchen, as they relived the famous episode of the Brady Bunch. As an aside, I found out something that day about Florence. She was a highly-skilled hypnotist, and my second career plan was to become a hypnotherapist. She actually gave me some pointers and recommendations. She was an incredibly down to Earth woman and as friendly as any celebrity I have ever worked with, but then my experiences over 30+ years in this business working on celebrities in both LA and Nashville, is that Nashville creates an atmosphere where people treat celebs like they are their neighbors, and out here, celebs are more standoffish until they earn your trust. Ah, I miss my hometown so much, and so many of my friends are fleeing Socal for Nashville. Maybe HGTV should do a show there since so much building is going on in my hometown.
I was born in October 1969. Just a month after the Brady bunch first aired. I was watching it in the early 70s as a toddler as the seasons were still fresh on tv. It's funny I can still remember in 1973 watching them with my brothers in my bedroom. Such memories as i grew up with the Brady's. Their show is exactly my age. 52 years in September. Awesome. Also I remember I used to be in to speed racer and kimba when it aired on channel 52. Japanese animation. Good times. 😁😎👌👍
I am loving how they are recreating the house and being together in this way. Missing Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and Ann Davis, I know they are in Heaven watching over the project with huge smiles ❤
She was always the prettiest. Also, I think the most intelligent, which is why she usually seems bored at these events. (If I had to sit and recount something I did 50 years ago, I would find it tedious, also). HGTV did a great interview with her in her Manhatten apartment. She is lively, fun, and eager to talk about her career as an artist. And no doubt glad the interviewer never once mentions THE BRADY BUNCH.
@@johnfd0210 you must be a publicist. She comes off as a cross between odd and a stick in the mud. I understand she's a nice person, but she comes off in these shows as absolutely Dreadful.
johnfd0210...I reacted differently than you. Eve Plumb was interviewed for a video series titled "At Home With The Bradys," yet the Brady Bunch wasn't mentioned one single time in the entire interview. It felt really odd. Clearly, Plumb had placed a gag order on the producers, forbidding them to mention the show as a condition of doing the interview, which only succeeded in making Plumb look snobbish and full of herself. Having said that, I do credit Eve for participating in the renovation project, even though her boredom is palpable. I'm sure they're paying her a boatload of dough for her appearances.
Yeah, that interview was soooo funny for the fact that the words The Brady Bunch weren't uttered. LOL!!! I'm sure TPTB were told in advance if you want the interview don't mention The Brady Bunch. That said, in all of the round table interviews with the cast for the HGTV show she seems okay with it. I suspect once is done everyone will have had their fill and will probably never do a full reunion in any form ever again. It's the 50th and it's special. I think Chris even said that in an earlier interview.
I sit here watching this in my Brady Bunch pajamas. (and I'm NOT kidding!) I love this show and I love that they've redone that house Brady style. They should give paid tours! I'd go!
In Britain we have a famous soap and sci-fi which have become national institutions but neither have combined both exterior and interior designs into one location to create something that can be so real to fans. Instead, we have the facade of the buildings in the soap and the interior of the spaceship for the sci-fi show. Congratulations to all those dedicated to "The Brady Bunch" for their recreation. You have made the home very tangible!
2:42 Eve still annoyed with Maureen and how much attention she recieves...hee hee, but glad that Eve is part of this reunion, it wouldn't be the same without her.
I'm just loving this whole idea. The show is part of my childhood and it's like these great people are family. Also I'm so glad they're getting just rewards for the happiness they gave generations of young kids for many decades. Good clean entertainment. Nothing offense. We need that again today.
It's fun to see the Brady kids all grown up, looking much older just like the rest of us who waited for Friday night to watch them on tv. I was 10-14 while the show was on.
It's amazing that next week will be 50 years since "The Brady Bunch" first aired on September 26, 1969 and they all still look young, aside from the gray hairs, of course!

The Brady kids did not receive but 1.00 they just asked that transportation and hotels would be paid for. Mo and Chris live in LA. They went home. Barry lives in Branson Mike lives in Utah. Susan lives on a animal rescue in Arizona Eve lives in New York.
@Paul Greening Of course, looks are to some degree subjective, but to me, Susan appears to have the skin of someone who has abused themselves with a drug habit, in which I would include tobacco use, over-tanning, etc. Eve and Maureen however, seem to have the appearance of women in their 50s and 60s who have made healthier choices, at least of late. I don't know their personal histories, although I seem to remember Maureen had a drug problem early on. Looks aren't really what is important anyway. It was just an observation.
Did the Brady kids kid paid to be a part of this house project? Because I find that eve plumb (jan) wouldn't do anything like this unless she's getting a check. She always said the sitcom was just a job to her.
Why dont they ever mention the Brady parents n housemaid. It was sad to see the house full of ppl but no mention of the parents. Maybe their wasnt a close knit relationship like ppl think.
Racheal did mention working with florence at the end of this clip , and the three of them were mentioned in other broadcasts. I think it is still too sad for them to bring them up so much, as florence's passing is still very recent.
All seem to have grown up to be well adjusted and secure human beings. That in itself has to be a first for people growing up in Hollywood. But who was that tub of lard in the middle asking all the questions?
