A fragrance, like music, can cut through our thoughts and instantly shift our emotions. It is why we get so moved by them and associate them with periods in our lives or certain feelings we want to have again. Our sense of smell is also so precise, that it has to be an almost 100% match to be perceived as the same scent in our memory. This is why reformulations are so painful. A reformulation will never give the emotional hit of the original and it is very real grief. If you are the sort who can just move on to something else, good for you. But for those of us who have fallen in love, we will continue on ebay and estate sales 😅 I was shocked when I smelled the current Dior Homme, though I shouldn't have been. Dior has been destroying their once phenomenal perfumes for some time now.
Great video, Persolaise. Love this one. I still have about 25ml left of the 2008 version that I use judiciously. Subsequent versions haven't come close. Superb use of the ginger note.
Found a nearly full bottle of this one (2008 of course) for only $85 and thought, "If Persolaise and Luca Turin said it's good, it must be a safe bet!" It is rather lovely; I only put on a small spray. Can't wait to try this on the heat!
Great review 👍 No doubt Dior homme sport 2008 was the best of the line🏆 can't understand why the changed the formula after? A very weird marketing policy Dior has👎 cheers mate 😀🥂
@@Persolaise you're welcome! Dior has lost lots of credibility due to their weird marketing👎 and they'd better respect more their clients! Dior became an unreliable brand by all means! Such a pity.😉 PS I prefer Chanel to Dior👌is more reliable!
Dior homme 2008 is a masterpiece. But dior 2012… and 20XX only a shit. I don’t understand how this fragance is discontinued or reformulated either way. When I bought this bottled in 2008 never haven’t imagined that one day will be impossible to buy for unless 300$.
DHS 2012 falls really flat when compared to 2008, lacks that sparkling bergamot/ginger combo and the mossy base. There's a new (again) DHS release that has gathered few good impressions so far, have you tried it?
No, I don’t have any hard facts about this. But you might find this blog interesting: raidersofthelostscent.blogspot.com/2015/04/fahrenheit-visual-guide-1988-2015.html
Persolaise, I loved Dior Homme Sport 2008. I finished my bottle several years ago. I wish that I bought a backup bottle. I do not like the new Dior Homme Sport
