I just picked up a few of the newer ones, the glow in the dark dm20 and the black & red dmX. They are very fun little things :)

Funny thing is that I remember first seeing these back when I first played Digimon World 1 but it wasn't until later when I learned that there was a whole world of Digimon Virtual Pets. Even though I was a big Digimon fanatic who would love reading into the lore and backstory of it it wasn't until recently with the Digital Monster ver 20th where I started to collect virtual pets. Honestly I gotta say that I really admire the whole concept of raising monsters (especially your favorite ones) and having friends to battle with. Thankfully because the virtual pet community has lately been growing they've created a method to connect the virtual pets to the internet using varying devices like an A-Com/D-Com.

They also have the 20th anniversary digimon at Barnes and nobles!

Hey ! I was born in 1998 and I got my first tamagotchi when I was seven or eight years old, however I've never heard about the whole story / the digimon tamagotchi. While growing, I discovered digimon quite early because it was broadcasted on some tv channels in France so yeah, I would have really like to get one of these at this time ahah.

I had the red see through with black buttons. I love there's actually a cheat book that teaches u how to evolve into other digimon. If u take care and do the necessary stuff u will always be stuck getting agumon and just turning into greymon , however if u collect certain amount of shit and don't turn off the light and what not it can evolve into a different kind. There's also a cheat where by u pull the tab in and out repeatedly and change the time u will get a random digimon so u can skip the process from egg straight getting an ultimate. Good times indeed😭💯

I'm pretty sure they did get their names before the anime seeing as there was the Digital Monster Ver. S which was the v-pet but on the Sega Saturn, Digimon World as well as the mangas, both the oneshot C'mon DIgimon and Digimon Adventure V-Tamer. Ironically despite many thinking it started as an anime, that's one of the later mediums it expanded to.

Damn these were so awesome. Had trouble telling time as a kid so these were real convenient to have around lol

I totally remember that alluring feel of Tamagotchi. It's really hard to describe but they were so appealing! I had no idea Digimon was originally a Tamagotchi though. I might pick up a couple so I can battle my lad, lol Great episode as always mate!

Yeah, I remember these things. I was like, 5. I kept taking care of it everyday, making sure to clean up after it, feed it, give it vitamins, train. Everything. Next thing I know, my rookie was Agumon, champion was Greymon and Ultimate was Metal Greymon. I kept winning battles with him, never understood why nobody else had Metal Greymon when I was a kid. Now I know, they treated their digimon like crap.

and 2 days ago i got my digimon color following digimon ver.1 rooster, it fix all the problem and give lots of new stuff I love it.

I used to love Tamagotchi, me and my brother had a dig I'm on one each and of course used to battle em all the time.... I always ended up with devimon, think it's cos I kept messing with the clock so it was quiet at school

im proud to say as a 24 year old girl, i own 3 Digivice-D Powers with all colors, and 2 Digivice D tectors. I also have the 20th anniversary digimon tamagotchi, and a Tamagotchi v4.5.

Oh man. I'll never forget Giga Pet. I thought it was so cool lol. I remember my friend would babysit tamagotchis Haha. She would have 8 or so on her backpack while she was on duty lol

Wow I remember I had 2 of these in 7th grade. I wish I had them still today.

The color u have is kinda rare its red solid black button and frame...for version its one of the rarest for solid color

I still have my V1 digimon yellow and my v1 black Japanese.

I lost my mint condition yellow wave 1 97. Also had a Japanese black 97, not sure what wave. Turned my whole house upside down... Not sure WTF I did with them.

Has a Tamagotchi as a kid i probably should of read the manual, since it tells you how to pause it which is useful when your don't feel like playing with it or are busy. Mine would die because of that. Kind of hated it because of not knowing that since there would be times where i did not want to play it. Yeah but these should of really have an off switch that pauses your progress other wise you just end up wasting battery's when your not using it unless you take the battery's out.

I never had the fighter one. I had just the regular yellow one. The fighter one would have been cool to have, but no one I knew we getting those and I could tell it was more fun with friends kind of thing.

I had both an original tamagotchi and an original digimon. Decades before I came out as gender non binary!

The digimon manga came first.. and I bet the anime was in the making when the tamagotchi came out.
