Original Faberge Brut | Father's Day Shave (UK) 

Hello Paul. I’ve been watching your videos for a couple of months now and have learned a lot from watching. I have built up my shave den during that time mainly from your video recommendations and really enjoy it! My shave of the day today was a Turkish special - Arko soap (great slickness, cushioning and smoothness - takes some beating), Merkur 34c razor (always gives a smooth result) followed by Arko classic moisturising cream, and topped off with Aqua Velva (Williams original) which I’d never heard of until I watched your videos - what a scent! My wife and I are Salvation Army Officers (Ministers). Our first appointment was at Rhosllannerchrugog near Llangollen in North Wales, a vey unique place. We loved our time there. That was 40 years ago. We are nearing retirement (5 years away) and now live an minister in London - quite a difference! God bless you and Mrs H! Paul Johnson (Major)

Great shave Paul. My Dad's been gone since 1984 now, and i miss him every day. I remember when i was just a kid being sent to the corner shop for a wilkinson sword blade for his razor. The shopkeeper wrapped it up in a bit of tissue so i could carry it home. Couldn't do that nowadays, the health and safety would have a fit.

A great Father's day shave PaulH! Here's to the men we've admired and loved who raised us to be the men we are today, may their legacy not end with us! I too used products today that my dad used and taught me to shave with. Gillette foamy original in a can, Gillette slim adjustable and Old Spice aftershave. Took me back to a simpler time in this world.

I remember watching both my grandfather's shave as well as my father. My grandfather shaved with a gillette old type without the guard, I still have it. Both my grandfather's used barbasol exclusively it seems. My father used and still does a mach 3, but hasn't bought cartridges in years as he strops them on his arm lol

I'm sure your Father would be very proud of you having this channel (and the other 007Vauxhall) on RU-vid, with this massive legion of people who enjoy following you. Just to think that lots of wet shavers around the world own a signature shaving brush with your name on it... Ten years ago do you think this would be possible?... Great shave Paul💈💈 Father's Day in the USA as well☺ Yeah, Original Brut was fantastic, a much more rich and vibrant scent than the modern version👌 My father's razor, a Gillette Gold Tech fat handle, was unintentionally discarded when I experienced a small house fire😔 I recently found a replacement, same exact razor in a pristine original Tweed hard case w/unopened blades, no date code (1947-1951)👍 Magnificent display of color from Mrs H today thanks, and not a drop of claret to compete😁 SOTD: Original Shulton Old Spice soap/splash/EDC, Rubberset 100 re-knot badger, Gillette Gold Tech razor w/Gillette "Swede" blade, alum, Thayer's witch hazel and AV 5 in 1 balm... Happy Father’s Day! I bought a vintage Gillette Flare Tip (manufactured in my dad’s birth year of 1956) on eBay which arrived just in time for this weekend and a Father’s Day shave. Never remember him actually using a safety razor, so I took the liberty of pairing the flare tip with a 7 O Clock yellow blade, Proraso “red” cream (same sandalwood scent as I remember his budget cream having back in the day) and Aramis aftershave (again, one of his popular go tos).

Beautiful shaving video Paul, no one in the world can take place of parents, my mother and father also left us i.e me and my younger brother who is a doctor and I immediately phoned him after seeing your video, with the God's grace we have a very loving relationship and the bond between me and my brother rather become stronger after our parents 👍👍👍

The Brut cream lather's nice and how you apply it to the face makes me want to try it. I agree, scents invoke memories...Shulton Old Spice from the 1960's does the same for me. I said it before, my Grandfather (Mother's father), shaved every Saturday evening and he used the Old Spice shaving soap...that smell takes me right back to my childhood and my Grandparent's kitchen. SOTD: King C Gillette razor loaded with a 1970 Made in England Gillette Platinum blade (2nd use). LEA Mentholated shaving cream bowl lathered with a Simpson Chubby 2 synthetic brush. 3 pass shave plus pick-ups. The LEA Mentholated felt refreshingly cool on my face and provide great slickness. Finished with Thayer's AF SF skin toner and PAA CaD aftershave. Smoothness was just wooow! I love a superb post-shave feel. Fantastic shave Paul! You always get the best out of your shaving gear. Nice shave Paul, those Silver Blue are excellent blades, sharp but at the same time very smooth and comfortable. My SOTD (for tomorrow) will be: Rex Ambassador. Gillette Silver Blue (first use and it will be the first time I will have used the Silver Blue in the Rex). RazoRock Big Bruce brush. Stirling soap Hipster. Post shave will be the leftover lather rubbed on to my face and left while I wash my shaving gear.

SOTD. Is my yingjili razor. A Chinese copy of a Gillette vintage razor. 3rd used of a Lord blade. Then I my Adimal shaving set. Smells divine. Have a great Sunday Paul and also Mrs H.

The brut aftershave balm is the best aftershave ever. Can't get it in the states anymore unfortunately.

Great shave. My dad is still here and I’m grateful to have him present in my life. He told me that his dad (my grandfather) used a safety razor himself (possibly Gillette or similar). I’m not sure if it’s in my grandmother’s possession at her house back in Mexico where my family came from. The next time I visit there, I’ll try to ask her about it. I’ll be happy to know the answer. Paul, nice haircut and a great shave! By any chance, have You tried Cyrill Salter solid puck? To my nose scent is 90% the same as my 60s vintage Yardley hard puck - veeery close. Performance tops Mitchell's, lather does not dissipate and it's tallow first :)

My dad use to let me "shave" (without the blade of course) once in a while. I was very small but I carried on just like he did when he put on the Brut A/S. Remember that like it was yesterday.

Happy Father’s Day PAUL, just had my Sunday shave, I used the Gillette king razor, Gillette king transparent gel, coca-cola handle Yaqui 22 knot finished off with a moisturiser from executive shaving, and then some pinau bay rum after shave.

My Dad was an Old Spice man, for shaving soap (in a mug) and splash on, he also used a Gillette TTO razor, I don't know which one though. It's not actually fathers day here (Aus) that's not until Sept, but I will remember Dad with a special shave on the 3 July, which will 5 years since his passing (age 91).

I still use Brut after every shave.

paul, can you please be so kind to tell us which type of shaving soap can be melt in the microwave oven or in an other way , so I can put some soap fillers in small glass bowls, regards robert ( i,e, a tabac refill for the stick , melt it to put in a bowl), I know that with the colonel conk there is no problemas since these soaps are based on glicerine )
