you dont need to write dvd. you copy iso and script into xbox folder hdd and launch without dvd.

You dont actually need the molex adapter, you can basically use anything just to power on other hdd. When I was upgrading my hdd I powered it using the molex input from my pc and I saved myself some money with that

For sure! I would use the same method in the past as well, but after trying the molex adapter there was no going back. Stretching the molex from my PCs PSU never seem to leave much room to work, so the adapter was a game changer for me personally 😎👍

Maybe you still check comments but anyways. Do you know the difference between loading games from the disc vs the hhd? I was pretty curious to know what the speed difference is but cant find anything about it

It's WAY faster on the HDD vs disc, plus it prevents your discs from getting scratched! I don't have exact measurements, but you will notice the difference immediately, even on cheap drives. Not all games work, but a majority will run flawlessly 😁👍

Why do u need an 80 wire cable if the 40 fits? Im having so much trouble! I gave up on usb im trying hot swap

The 80 wire provides WAY faster transfer speeds, cutting down load times significantly on boot and while playing games. The difference is night and day, even on the cheapest of 80 wire cables. If you have trouble finding a working flash drive, try looking for a 128mb one on eBay like I did, it worked great! 😁👍 Otherwise, best of luck with the hot swap method! I had quite a bit of trouble with it back in the day, but if it works for you that's awesome!

@@doitallYT understood but for the purpose of getting it to work can i reuse the 40 and swap it once I know it will work? Im sitting in a pile of xboxs with bad capacitors and want to see it work before buying anything

Absolutely! I've ran this mod with the 40 wire before, it's just noticeably slower compared to the 80. As for testing a board with a paperclip, I honestly am not sure what you mean? If you're trying to swap clock capacitors, you're going to want to do that for 1.6 models, 1.0-1.5 can still function without the clock capacitor. If you're swapping all the capacitors though, I would say it's well worth doing for longevity's sake 👍

In this video I was using after-market component cables, this let's the Original Xbox run at 480p, 720p, and 1080i. 720p and 1080i look AMAZING when a game supports it, while 480p still destroys anything the stock composite cable can output. Down the road I want to have an internal HDMI mod installed to get the best possible HDMI output, but for now I've had a lot of luck with this HDMI solution: amzn.to/3K247qM Before, I would covert my component signal to HDMI, then route that through a capture card to record gameplay. Now I've managed to cut down on the response time significantly by cutting out an extra conversion 😁👍 if I go straight to the TV, the response time difference isn't noticable. It's a really worthwhile investment for the system, though I'd still recommend component moreso if it's an option: amzn.to/3QNhvkT

No no no no. This I a waste of time. You should have made a short that you need to TSOP first this is legally skipping a step. You are one of the reasons why it took me so long to upgrade my hard drive. This is a waste of time

You don't need to TSOP unless you plan to flash a custom BIOS, for those that don't have soldering experience and a prefer softmods this is the route you go. If you want a TSOP HDD upgrade guide, you need to look for that specifically and not one intended for softmods

@@doitallYT bro come on. The HDD has to be upgraded. 8gb or 10gb isn't enough for sometimes even a game or two. Plus if you can't solder you can use electric paint to connect the points. Which is actually alot easier. YOU ARE WELCOME. if you are going to do content do it right if you get hurt don't do content at all. Furthermore, this short is super misleading you specifically say to upgrade HDD chimp only works if your motherboard is flashed dude. Home of content and waste of time.

I wasn't hurt bro, just stating facts 😐 HDD upgrading works great without flashing a custom BIOS, softmods have had that ability since way back in the day. We just get extra features with this specific softmod, being the up to 16tb size limit increase. And true, conductive paint is a great option! @@doitallYT so I actually found out that the only version of the OG XBOX that don't need to be flashed to have the HDD upgraded its the 1.6 one, but again learned it the hard way and this one after me working on 8 OG XBOX only came across one 1.6 version and even with that, that one person didn't want an HDD upgrade so I understand now what you agree talking about but again if someone is new to the scene should have more comprehensive videos of how to identify, mod the Xbox correctly according to it's version, and at least for me upgrading the HDD to have games. I'm actually working on a video like that but school it's not letting me at least now.
