With all respect to Franco, Tom was the true 1981 Mr. Olympia.

Yeah it was a travesty that Arnold won he was nowhere near as fit as he was in 1980 as he was in 1974.

Screw the 'respect for Franco' he didn't have enough respect to hand the trophy over to the rightful winner...Danny Padilla.

Arnold was Joe Weiders boy and was guaranteed the win..it was fixed to help sell Weiders name and products..You can clearly see Arnold wasn't even close to winning shape in some of the Olympias..

+MENTALITY EXACTLY! Same here, never really knew his personality till now. I can say we are very like-minded. The very way he speaks coupled with the hand gestures and facial expressions... I'm exactly the same way. It is the art of conversation, making a connection with the people u talk to, entertaining each other with nothing but words. The young people these days, me being one of them fyi, they can't hold conversations of this quality... all they do is stare at their phones, spout a few weak, shallow, monotone sentences then stare back at their phone. Camaraderie, like Tom said. Notice how Tom would lean and reach towards Artemus, as to literally make a connection and express his ideas. You don't see that stuff anymore, all u get is fist bumps, head nods, "sup", or a limp handshake. After seeing this I have a new respect for Tom, not just as a bodybuilder, but as a man and his thought process. Very similar he and I, would love to meet him some day and break words... seems like a hell of a guy!

Would of love if platz was mic'd, but tom plats gave SO much imagery and beautiful description of what it was like you could pretty much close your eyes and imagine what it's like being a body builder in the 70s living in Cali. Also Tom platz did 405 for 50 reps jesus fucking christ!
@BountyRogueCinemax
@BountyRogueCinemax 8 лет назад
***** get your garbage out of here. You can take all the drugs/supplements/food you want you still couldn't build legs like platz or a body similar to any of the guys back then. Those guys trained really trained different than anyone ever had.

***** Bro if you're 55 years old and you're hating on all these men who are more successful than you then you need a life. also how do they have no life when they all are sleeping nice big houses, one half of them have a multi million dollar franchise, golds/worlds gym. While Arnold will be on of the most successful men to exist. Then there is you. Who are you?

Genius! Tom discovered something very critical in human development. He said he could manage five reps at a time. He didn't see any further than that. This says a lot -- it is how he managed to do higher reps than pretty much anyone with the weight he did. The results speak for themselves. We can work better when we focus on a small task at a time. This is normally applied to intellectual practices but here Tom demonstrates how applicable it can be in building muscle.

Personnally I really thought that he conducted the interview really well (I don't know this guy, but he definitely isn't a jounalist! lol so we can forgive his small mistakes) - I thought that, far from "disrespecting" his guest, he asked him some very "topical" questions and it was well balanced. Great to see a guy bringing the true bodybuilding back and feeling it and making it reach out to normaal lifters! maturity level at its best. Bradley and calum are just teenage fuck boys! this guy is already building up his legacy, enough said!

I met and had my picture taken with Tom Platz back in the early 80's when I was a young competitive bodybuilder in Minnesota, and he was here guest posing around the time of his Mr Olympia contests. I was a nobody, but Tom treated me like somebody. I'll never forget that. In this interview, I would normally say that the interviewer was being disrespectful wearing the hoodie, but his words were very respectful and appreciative of who he was interviewing. I actually thought he did a fantastic job making a connection with Mr Platz, and you could see it in Tom's body language. I really liked and agreed with Tom's assessment that the 80's was the golden age of bodybuilding. That was a period in my life when I lived for the sport, as so many others did too. I'll always consider Tom Platz as one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time, not just for his fantastic legs, but for his personality, and his obvious love for the sport and his ability to convey to the general public what's in the hearts and minds of bodybuilders. Jeff S.

Artemus !! You legend! You're just something different, majority of the people laughed at you when you said you were going to promote the 'golden era' time of bodybuilding, now there jaws have dropped because it's slowly being achieved, and I know for a fact that I'm really starting to dislike today's bodybuilding because it's boring as! Thank you Artemus. 👏🏼

Tom is a beautiful guy. The spirituality of the 70’s is why many of us got into lifting. Art not sport. Love not business.

How not to interview a legend: 1) Wear a hoodie with the hood up 2) Mic yourself and not the legend

Best interview so far. Tom seems like the kind of guy you'd want to spend a lot of time around. Just down to earth.

WTF you wear a hoodie to interview the great Tom Platz? You insulted bodybuilding and Mr. Platz. What a dolt.
