My video's are always amature at best, but I'm not here for subs, I just want you to know what others haven't shown on YT. This cam is great value, here's why..... :)
I purchased one 9 months ago and very happy with it and have recently purchased my 2nd camera to cover my water tanks (no town water) given I have twice had water stolen by locals during the drought several years ago and locals are now back to buying water with the dry (no truck involved). I will note that the motion sensor has only a very short range, however the view is broad and goes to the back of my large yard. I love the fact it will capture any close movement onto my mobile phone and I can view those images whenever I wish. Last summer it evidenced on a regular basis a huge brown snake coming up to my back patio doors at night and was made aware the snake had made its home somewhere in my backyard long term. Likewise capture bandicoots/cats and other wildlife.
Mine didn’t pick up four big brown snakes near the front and back door but yeah I have one covering my water tanks the thing that found the big browns where my two cats looking out the screen doors like look at that big brown murder noodle the one in the house was a bit of a panic cameras didn’t catch it but the cats saw it and went no way see ya later. The brown murder noodle went back in a box and I chucked it outside. 7 weeks later my cats are still walking around like it’s still inside. My brown murder noodle is still living in the box I threw four feet from my back door. If it doesn’t read the eviction notice I sent it it’s getting a steel belted radial.

Glad I could help, I really am. I'm fed up with sponsored tutorials telling us to like and subscribe etc. I will do a follow up one year later with pros's and cons as well .
I have a different version that has to be plugged in all the time so is limited to where it can be put but, for $45 its way better than the $2000 security cameras that were installed a few years ago. I as so surprised by this. The expensive cameras are a pain to use and the software is hard to download and understand. I will be getting a couple of these ones for $200 and hassle free and getting rid of the other cameras. Thanks for sharing
I can say at least once a month if I use playback it tells me I have no sd card(which I have) so therefore have to reset the whole process each time right from the start! Will be looking at other brands
Thanks for the review, not a lot of hands-on info with this model out there. In the Grid Connect App, are you able to setup any automation based on motion detection events from the Camera? Thinking about turning on some GridConnect power plugs which are connected to garden lights.
Great review, thanks. Been thinking about using these as the modularity of the system is something I like ... but having to recharge every 7 weeks would be a pain with the 4 or so cameras I need. Maybe I could work out a way to get a permanent usb cable out to them?
Upgraded camera is not so good as this one. Night motion doesn't work, picture ok, but moving objects is blurry. Have 2 abd both have problems. Will return it to Bunnings
My camera has excellent quality (2k) and works great when I have it live, but all of my recordings cut off after around 10 or 15 seconds, even if the subject of the recording is still there, moving/driving or whatever...has any one else experienced this? So I look at motion detection and I end up seeing someone walk up and then the recording stops!
Yep, it's true, about 15 secs is it. Dissapointing. There was a woman that said she was getting a refund on the strength of this issue, I asked her to upload the new cam she was going to buy and let us know the cost etc. No reply. So yeah, 15 secs is it. If anyone knows any better cam for he same price, I'd love to see it, otherwise I'm sticking with this one.
Thanks for your review, how often do you have to get up a ladder to recharge battrries? Once the sd card is full does it loop over itself or do you need to clear the card?

I have this exact model I set it up in the far corner of my garage but the motion detection isn’t giving me notifications properly, would it be too far possibly?
Bloody legend . 😅 lm a bit sceptical about reviews now since l found out some people are getting paid for reviews and the better the reviews the more money they make apparently . so there's no incentive to be completely honest if it's a shit product . l liked this review but how does it go at night m8 ? You did not show its night capabilities .
I had the same issue with mine, it's not a problem though. Loosen the two adjustments, start fresh, the cam will tighten in the right spot, the more you fidget with it, the more you'll figure it out :)
@@budget.diyguy.australia Yes I had a similar option with one camera tho the other was fine. There is a small recess in the metal rotating area of the bracket that ideally you want pointing upwards.
The cam at my front door gets recharged every 2 months, we enter our house through the garage, so the front door cam hardly ever gets set off. The garage cam gets recharged every month even less at times because we do mega amounts of movement in that area of the cam. Infact, now when I mow, wash the car in that area, I cover that cam with a rag so the sensor doesn't go off, therefore saves the battery. The more movement in front of cams, the sooner they get charged mate.
Night time should def show, it's all Black n White but totally clear. Maybe.. try this in the settings : Say for example your cam is titled ' Front Door ' or whatever your titled cam area is... click on that.. you will then see your front door etc. live.. click on the 3 Horizontal dots ( Top right of app ), you should then see your settings.. about the 4th line down you should see ' night vision ', tap on that, you get three choices, Auto, Off and On. Mine is on Auto and works at night all night long. That's all I can think of..? I am also getting a single sensor light fitted next to my cam, so anyone that walks up to my front door at night, will set the light off, they will be filmed on very bright colour, apposed to just relying on the night vision :) Hey all the best with your settings, otherwise get an exchange and try again.. Hey mate, just a quick question, does the camera record videos when the motion sensor is activated or only still pictures? It seems to be able to record only manually when you pressed the record icon.
Hey Allan, If someone stands in front of the cam, the cam will take stills.. and will also video the moment. If you click on the Envelope ( top right corner ) you can see the stills. If you click on the Cam, lets say for EG, you've titled it " Front Entry Door ", click on it.. Then down the bottom right, you will see two Vertical Arrows together.. Click on them and you will see a pop up screen of options.. In amongst all those options you will see a Circle that reads PLAYBACK. Playback will show the moment someone was at your door in video. ME, personally.. I click on the Envelope with the stills, it's Quick and I can see whether I know that person or not :) Hope this helps mate. :)

I didn't know how that function worked and only had a couple of photos taken by camera the other day to go by to try and figure out who accessed my meter box while I was at work. Thanks to you I was able to playback the video taken on the day which showed me it was just a meter reader.
Disappointed that it only records for aprox 15 seconds when motion is detected. It won’t do another recording for Atleast 1 minute after. Wouldn’t recommend as I’d expect at a minimum 60 seconds

Hey Tia, Good question!! Ok, I just viewed the 32G SD card, it's got files from Jan 2023 to June 2023.. Here's the thing,, the card still has a good 95% free space, so I dunno if it loops yet?? I'll have a look in another 6 months lol. At least we know that 32 G covers ALOT.. of footage. Have a cracker Day :) 😎🤙🎥
..so we're in November right now, I just watched some footage from June, would go back more for sure. it's easy to retrieve past recordings, it's all on the app, pretty easy.
