This is an amazing story. I literally told a similar version of this story to someone this past Wednesday and now it's the topic of today's discussion 😅. I really like this version. The particular version I heard of Obara meji is that Olorun tasked Obara who was a Babalawo but not one who wore the finest clothes but nonetheless a Babalawo, to deliver 6 calabash to 6 different Babalawo in town. Upon Obara's arrival to each Babalawo home he was callously rejected. Each Babalawo denied that Olorun would task a sack cloth wearing Babalawo such as Obara Meji to deliver them their wealth. They say if Olorun wanted to deliver their ashe it'll come straight from heaven and not Obara. Obara returned to Olorun and reported that each Babalawo rejected him and his offerings. Olorun instructed Obara to take each of the calabash to his home and keep em for himself. Obara found out that each calabash had a different type of blessing of wealth.
