Well, I found it funny you said that there is no black people within orchestra. Maybe if you speak of USA, west of Europe where they have lots of different nationalities everywhere, this could be racist. But you have to remember that we don’t have many immigrants, also we never had colonies, so from where should we take take this people? This doesn’t mean we are racist or anything like that, we are simply mostly polish. Not every country is comparable to the others, but we still love all the PEOPLE.

732 musicians from all over Poland took part in this project. Adam Sztaba is a great musician, composer and conductor. He arranged this piece. Each musician recorded in his home. It had to involve enormous effort and talent.

To answer your question "how did they do it on zoom, what kind of connection they had, how did they synchronise?". Well, it's nothing of above. Adam Sztaba who made arrangement of this great BAJM / Beata Kozidrak original song gave public access to music score where all instruments were obviously separated, like in any orchestra. Common tempo and tune was given too. Anyone, who wanted to take part in the project could download necessary materials and record his / her part alone at home. Then all 732 recordings were sent to editing studio and it took long long hours to syncrhonise & edit everything. So not only it's a great arrangement & good playing of all instruments, but most of all - masterpiece of editing.

This song was firstly recorded by the band named Bajm in 1982 (a great song even then!). At that time the text referred to the martial law imposed by the communists in December 1981, and now it suits perfectly the COVID reality...

This was a generational anthem for Martial Law youth, realeased in 1982. It's a song from the band BAJM, and I'd love you to listen to the original piece, as well as other songs from that same album by the band. That singer was on par with Kate Bush at that time.

Bro, the main reason for no "black" people, as you pointed out, is two fold and the first explains the latter. Historically, Poland was multicultural, though still hosting a small number of "black" people. It just wasn't a migration destination. Then, due to the outcome of WWII, it became an ethnically homogenious country which didn't attract hardly any migration due to the economical status. Nowadays the circumstances have radically changed but merely just recently and there aren't any generations of foreign newcomers who had the time to master neither the language nor culture. This is changing but needs more decades. Cheers.

I'm glad that you enjoyed it! Eastern European countries are different than Western European ones. We didn't colonise other countries and continents and so there aren't a lot of African and Asian people living here. We're also significantly poorer than Western Europe and that's why people don't really immigrate here. Europe is a diverse continent, not every country here is an ex-coloniser, Eastern Europe is a whole different world than Western Europe.

I don't get it... You started to watch the orchestry performance and litterally the first thing you noticed is that there is not a single black person... Really? Is it what matters? The skin color of these people? There are many comments that say,"Dont think we are racist". We look at these people/artists/musicians and see just people - not the skin color, not the gender of the human that plays or sings. We just see the performance. The great performance that was made by many great people. So If you didnt note the skin color, there no one would comment about racism. Beacuse racism/sexism/intlorenace starts, when we look at people, and dont see just people and their actions, but we see their skin color, gender or any other features. Many of you can learn from polish peaople about it [there were times in Poland when we had manyyyyyy immigrants (like 30%) from many countries (Germans, Jews, Ukrainians, Belarusians, Latvians etc.) and yet they all talked about polish hospitality]. SO If the first things you see is the skin color - then close your eyes and just listen to the gorgeous music they make :)

This song is very special for Poles. This one is a cover, coz song was originally made in 1982 and was performing by Bajm (Beata Kozidrak), when Poland was under the occupation of Soviets - all of the politicians was totally controlled by Soviet Union and Poland, since 1944, was a communist country. People in their hearts felt free and can not stand the occupation, so riots for freedom begins to spread. Basically song is about daily life and feelings people suffer under the regime. But in fact, it's true value was hidden from the soviet cenzorship. It's a protest-song, that was made to give Poles courage and stranght to keep going and holdon, to not forget the bright future is ahead. And finally, 7 years after the oryginal version was released, after many fight, riots and lost lives, in 1989 we get our freedom back, and this song become a memorial of those times :) So our situation now is so similar to the situation then - uncertain times, unknow future, but we have to keep going.

Always rember about Polish People the will suprise when the times is tough when is hard you want to be around Polish Man

Please don't think that Poland is a racost country only because you don't see any people of colour here. Poland has never had any colonies, then there was a second world war and comunism and due to all these factors Poland is ethnically homogeneous. But it is changing now. For instance there was a person of colour winning a model show (top model I think) and Damian Ukeje won the first edition of the Voice of Poland
