When my brother died in a car accident I drove from TX to California desperate to see my brothers body. The morgue told me I couldn’t see his body. I had to find a funeral home to retrieve his body. We found one and paid them for a cremation. I asked the funeral home if I could see my brother’s body. They told me I had to pay $200 an hour to view my brother’s body. I only had $100 so they let us view him for 30 min. They left him in the body bag, his body was defrosting. I wiped some blood from his nose. After spending hundreds I got to see him before he was cremated. Many funeral homes are horrible. Death is a business. Nothing heartfelt about it.

SHE PAID FOR IT HOW DOES THAT MAN HAVE THE RIGHT TO KEEP IT IT’S BASICALLY STOLEN‼️‼️
@ocsrc
@ocsrc 7 месяцев назад
She did not pay for it. That is why they still had it. They would not return the calls from collection. The place put it in storage and forgot about it and the storage place auctioned it off. The guy who buys storage rooms, he listed the contents for sale and someone who needed a casket bought it to bury their loved one. The person who bought the storage unit contacted the funeral place to see if they wanted to buy it, they said yes, then they tried to con the guy out of it, and when that didn't work and the police said he owns it fair and square, the guy still offered to sell it back, and the place said they were coming to buy it, but they lied. So he listed it on marketplace The person who bought it, the funeral place tried running the same con, and they were not happy about the former owners trying to have them arrested. They want nothing to do with any of the people involved and I don't blame them. They needed a casket and they bought it fair and legal. The family that did not pay the bills after signing the contract were not duped. They ran a con on the funeral place and robbed them. Now they are trying to get more money. They could care less about that casket or wrap. They got A LOT OF MONEY when she died and they blew through it and now they see an opportunity to get more It is really awful but I saw this happening when I owned my hearse. And budget places like this should not offer a 5000 dollar casket, because no one going to a strip mall funeral is going to be buying a 5000 dollar casket. I know of what I speak. I saw these funerals for 20 years.

Because the Funeral Home put it in storage and didn't pay the rent for the storage. When that happens, the storage can be brought by anyone and everything in that storage will belong to the buyer. If you don’t it can wipe out the entire bloodline. But people don’t know this because they don’t know God and that their a spirit house inside of a body. Every funeral homes that I’m familiar with rents out a casket for viewing. I have never heard of anyone talking a family out of a rental, and asking them to buy a casket when they’re going to be cremating! That eccentric weirdo preyed on that poor momma’s pain! He should be made to repay the $5000! He made a 4 or 5 thousand dollar profit on it! After hearing the story, the person who bought it should let the mom have it for what he paid! He seems to be as heartless as the funeral director!
@ocsrc
@ocsrc 7 месяцев назад
What happened, from what I have found is, the family asked for the cheapest option, which is to simply cremate. The family asked for a viewing, and they were told that they offer a rental casket for the viewing. They were shown options for customized personal touches for the rental and they showed the wrap option, which the family said they wanted. So they had the wrap printed, and they did the showing, and the funeral place told them that they had to pay for the wrap. They refused to buy it, and said they were told it too was a " rental" So the funeral place took the casket that was made special for them, with the understanding that they were buying it, not renting it, because it could not be reused, and they put it into storage, because they could not reuse it, and they have been trying to get the family to honor the contract and pay the bill, and take ownership of the casket The family would not respond to the funeral place They waited the required time for the contract, and they then forgot about it, and the storage unit. The storage place did not contact them, so they waited the 90 days and then ran an auction on the storage unit. A person who buys storage units like this as a business, to sell the contents, they listed the casket online. They were then contacted by the funeral place, saying they had forgotten about the storage unit and they wanted to buy back everything that was in the unit. The person who bought the unit said fine, and arranged for a date and time for the funeral place to come and purchase the contents. The funeral place had no intention of buying the items back, and instead made up a fake lawsuit and tried to get the police to confiscate it, but the police saw it was a legal purchase from a storage unit, and the owner of the items then tried again to get paid by the funeral place. The funeral place broke off contact, so the person listed the items on marketplace. A person saw the items and contacted the person and purchased the items from the owner of the storage unit contents. This person did nothing wrong The funeral place then sent a fake legal notice to the new owner after trying to get the police to confiscate it from them. Now, the new owner wants to be left alone and I don't blame them. After having the funeral place try to get them arrested and their property they legally bought stolen, and fake legal document threats, I would not talk to anyone and I would tell everyone to leave me alone. Clearly the person who bought it needs it. They may need to bury a loved one and they are short on money, and they were looking for a casket they could afford. I got in the middle of one of these disasters many years ago when I owned a hearse. The family acted badly and lied about a lot and did not pay the bill, and they got a lot of money from different people at the viewing and could have easily paid. But they were greedy. They got the body disposed of after calling many places to find the absolute cheapest place and they were never going to pay them. I had a very similar situation with my hearse. The funeral place should have gotten full payment up front. I should have done the same. The law is that you are fully responsible for the disposal of the body once you accept it. And I heard other people who were funeral places and hearse owners and even cemeteries who disposed of bodies in dumpsters and put multiple bodies in the same grave One cemetery had 3 funerals and they were not paid by two of the families and they would not return calls and would not take the bodies and the cemetery did not want to loose the money of the spot, so they put the two that did not pay in the third grave after everyone left and filled it in. When the relatives came to visit, there were no markers on the graves, they were not going to pay for a stone, but the cemetery is suppose to put a marker on the spot, and each time a relative showed up they pulled out the file and the bills and they had the marker in the file and they said " Are you the person responsible for the bill that is suppose to be paying?" " no, while who is and what is their name and number and address? The person who is financially responsible is the only person we can talk to about the site and the bill is now 120 days past due, and they need to contact us immediately " Over the months people stopped coming and the people who did knew not to go to the office and ask questions. Eventually they used the site for a grave for someone who paid. During the last few years during the thing of which we can never speak, there were a LOT of unclaimed people. The state had to step in and we can't talk about those facts either. But, I did not know before I owned a hearse how many people don't pay for ANYTHING when a family member dies. They want EVERYTHING for free. This is why the honorable funeral homes all require full payment before they accept the body from the hospital or city. I spent a lot of time on the phone and I was the contact for many of the funeral homes in the area. My phone would ring a 2am and they would be asking about the cheapest options. I would go over each item and they would hang up and a minute latter my phone would ring again, and they would hear my voice and hang up. And again, and they would say, I am dialing different places in different cities, why do I keep getting you? And I explained how it works and they would say " OK give me a list of all the places you answer for" And I explained I could not give them that information They would literally call every single place in the book They wanted the church and the flower car and the hearse and the limos and the priest and a private viewing and valet parking for 500, all for 75 dollars Really I grew to hate my job. I kept the hearse till just two years ago. A 1991 It had 32,000 original miles and ran like a dream. So smooth A pleasure to drive And everywhere I went, people would stop and crowded around the hearse. I was constantly washing greasy hand prints off it. I don't know why people were like that, but a lot of people have zero respect. If you ever see a hearse, please don't go near it. They are not something to gawk at. 😢

@@ocsrc It just made no sense to me why she agreed to buy a casket when the wrap was all she even needed. Many people don’t think straight in these situations, and that’s entirely understandable. Then again, some people are just deadbeats. Unfortunately, I have known people who got quite a bit of cash, in donations, for a loved one’s burial, and blew it on other things. I don’t mean necessities, either. One was for an infant, and the story is still infuriating after 25 years! That’s why most funeral homes, around here, add to the obituary that a family asks, in lieu of flowers, for donations to offset funeral expenses. Most go directly to the funeral home. Sometimes they go into a bank account, but those aren’t always used properly, once they’re cashed out.

@@TinaRN Having worked in the Industry, I have seen this multiple times. They wanted a fancy casket and this is something that I only ever saw in certain communities. I never had people that were my ethnic background ever want or even think about a " wrap" like they do on cars. The standard 200 dollar casket for burial was our budget option. It could be augmented with a lot of extras. The casket that is a rental is a very nice casket. It IS a 5000 dollar casket. In every one of the cases I saw, it was explained in great detail that doing the custom wrap on a casket was a BUY ONLY option. You had to buy the casket and the wrap. We stressed that if they were doing a wrap they should choose the 200 dollar casket. For the honorable places when the family wanted cremation, they almost never let someone buy anything except for the 200 dollar casket, because it was going into the oven. The facility where I saw the service it was a very cold clinical place and there was a seating room and then a inter room and then the cremation room. People would say their own speeches and then the door to the over was opened and the casket was sent in on the rollers. This was only for these specific services where they wanted to be present for the final moments. I am crying thinking about it. It is a very tough service to watch. I don't know why people want these but for them, they stressed the 200 dollar casket. But for a cremation where they were not creating the casket, they would have had to sign the contract that they understand what they are doing. They are purchasing a new 5000 dollar casket and it would have the exact name of the company that made it, the model number and the serial number and color, and that it was being custom wrapped and that they were paying for the wrap and the cost, And it would clearly state that they had to take the casket with the wrap and the time frame they have to do this in. This was a very standard contract that was done every day by the funeral homes. That's why I wanted to see the contract They knew they were buying a casket and which one and the wrap. These places don't offer a loaner casket for upgraded services. I had to deal with these cases a lot. And I saw many times where they would have the service and they would collect all the donations and after all the people left, they would refuse to pay, and they would literally tell the funeral place they were taking the body to another funeral home. And they would load them in their car. They have the option to not treat the body for burial if they are going to be cremated, for religious reasons, and they would choose this option to save money, and they would have an untreated body they were pushing into a rental car. I lost all respect for the human race working in this field. It was always expensive and I really thought some of the charges were excessive. 500 dollars for " bathroom" is obscene. But many funeral homes charge this. And they schedule services to run at the same time, to save money, and they have two different funerals at the same time, one on the left room and the other one on the right room. They would charge for each parking spot. Even when people parked on the city street. And they had a clicker counting each person as they entered. And at the end of the wake they would approach the family member who was the wealthiest and tell them they needed cash for the added expenses. And the churches make as much as the funeral homes. I was horrified to see they charged per guest. And they charged for parking. The funeral homes, most of them don't own hearses. When they would have a paying customer they would call a company like me who owned a hearse and have us come. WE had name plates for the different homes we worked with. For a welfare or non paying client or contract client they would take the minivan and throw the body in the back. I was at a high rise and they thought I was there for a woman who had died and they were waiting out front by my hearse and the funeral home carried the bag downstairs and threw her into the minivan and the people were horrified The scariest call I had, from one of the really cheap places that was way behind on his bills, I had a guy on a yatch call at 4am and tell me to tell the owner to bring the hearse and he had a body, NO COPS, and he needed it cremated tonight, and they were on a lake in a very posh area that has Hollywood and very wealthy people. I passed along the information, that was part of my job, and he went with the minivan and he cremated whoever it was, and got a wad of cash from the guy. Just awful.

@@ocsrc WOW! 😳 The infant I was talking about was stillborn. People had sent the parents about $2500 in cash. The hospital let them leave with the baby, thinking they were going to go to a funeral home for a casket and burial, or a cremation. Somewhere on the two hour trip from the hospital back to their home, they decided to pull over at a random cemetery. I’m not sure what they dug with, but they dug a hole and left the baby there. Apparently, they didn’t think they had done anything wrong, so they didn’t have any problems, telling the family what they had done. This was extended family of the family I was married into, at the time, so I got to hear all the details. I was so angry that I called and spoke to a friend of mine who owns one of our two local funeral homes, and that’s how I learned that the only thing that they could’ve really gotten in trouble for, would’ve been from the cemetery, itself. They may have required a casket, a vault, payment for the plot, etc…. That was the day I learned that, in the state of Kentucky, at least, a vault is not required, nor is embalming. It might be important, to some, to mention that neither parent had a very high IQ. He had even drawn a check, all of his life. That still doesn’t cut it, for me! They had no problem running through that $2500!

This establishment seems shady because why encourage someone to buy a 5000 casket for someone that's going to be cremated, then allegedly claim they will store the casket for future relatives to use and this young lady's picture and name is plastered all over it, on top of the fact how much were they going to charge them to store this thing indefinitely, This alone seems like they were playing on the emotions of this family because none of this makes sense. But it sounds like the new owner is in possession of stolen property, I think the new owner should give the casket back and sue the funeral home, or the funeral home needs to pay the family back for the casket to make them whole.

@@Odyssey636 actually my dads casket would have been 5000 to buy and to rent was only 1000 and it was a top of the line casket. It’s no point in buying it if it was not going any further than our church that his funeral was in. And we definitely wouldn’t even have thought twice about using it for another family member. I think that’s inhumane. But hay that’s just my opinion

The owner seems sketchy af. I’m sorry wtf is the buyer going to do with a casket with a young ladies picture and name all over it… strange

Strange that mom was not very bright with her decisions. And others never questioned

The casket is wrapped in vinyl. All it takes is a heatgun and to peel it off.

This is crazy! I don't understand why anyone would spend that amount of money on a casket, the deceased one has no idea, why waste money, when my sister died, she got buried in that cheap blue box. Funeral homes are robbers. This story is crazy as it sounds.

People are grieving! They're not thinking about costs. It's about getting things done. Geez. Give them a break!

@@woahbzzz4823They also don't know they have other options. He took advantage of that family. I bet they had a verbal contract for storage, do he could deny it in court.

Not everyone feels the same as you. I certainly wouldn't want a lot of money spent on a casket for myself but that's just me. The problem is the casket was bought and got sold. It should just be given back to the family. Heartbreaking death of beautiful young lady , not right to treat this casket as just any other item bought or sold,its not. Condolences to the family.

My grandfather was also buried in a cheap blue box. Big contrast to his brother's fancy casket. My dad was not nearly as wealthy as his cousins so he couldn't afford the fancy casket.

Smiling funeral director (or whatever you are) recall that: "Jesus forgives, but He remembers too." As a cremator you probably can guess that hell is a whole lot hotter yet.

Why cause the family more pain and trauma by not giving the casket back? Whoever has it should be ashamed of themselves. I’d report them to fb too. That funeral home needs to be shut down. How do they even still have that place open?

If you are doing a cremation. Why would you buy a casket?? Thats like needing a closet and building a garage

This is heartless, scamming, and preying on the families pain. This business needs to be shut down, the fraudulent director needs to be arrested for fraud. The family should sue him for theft and pain and suffering.😒
