I live in Ormskirk and also lived in Australia for twelve years , Melbourne and Wangaratta .The Dunns' have a Student Lettings business at the top of Green Lane and their parents had the pub , corner shop and Fish and Chip shop there as well . They , along with my friend Colin , know everyone , so do hope you met at least one of them .
Great video! I was born there and left when I was 13 to also move to Australia in 1994. My Mother and Father were married at St Anne's Church, I was baptised there and my father is buried there. I also lived on Pennington Avenue at number 49 for 3 years! Uncanny parallels!
Good video - Being born in Mill Dam Lane but then spending most of my life in Ormskirk I had friends in every street you named. Many parallels, I moved to Africa for a few years but, like your family, moved on to Australia in 1979.
Been watching your video today. We live on Pennington Avenue (not in the flat) and a Briscoe family lived in our house and moved to Australia . Are they the same family?
What a comprehensive video! In case it's ever of any help, we've got a disc with details of gravestone inscriptions for St. Anne's Church, which might help you. (It's a copy of a survey of the graveyard dated 1979, so it may finish a bit too early for you, but just let us know if we can help.)
