But I can assure you the Faroese do not consider themselves Danes. Indeed, many Old Norse names were borrowed from Vikings but Volodymyr is not. It's 100% Slavic. Some early princes of Novgorod and Kiev (and probably many other bilingual Vikings) used to have two names (Old Norse and Slavic) with similar pronunciation. E.g. Yaroslav corresponds to Jens-Leif. And the pair Valdemar-Volodymyr is a perfect example. Volodymyr is a compound of two words i.e. "volod- " (волод(іти)) i.e. to reign, to rule an "mir" i.e. world, peace and sometimes authority.. So, "one who rules the world". It can be also found in other Slavic languages, e.g. in my native Polish. it's Włodzimierz. BTW I would add to your list, at least two borrowed Viking names i.e, Guðleifr (Gleb) and Ingvar (Igor, Ihor in modern Ukrainian). Guðleif(r) may seem strange but at this time, the f consonant was absent in Slavic languages, so usually it was replaced by similar sounds i.e. p or b.
