Thank God for the convicting power of the Beauty of Holiness message. I feel the same convicting power as old school preachers that would preach Hell so hard you would almost crawl to the altar crying. To best understand Holiness we should look at the book of Esther. The queen didn’t wear what everyone wore. You wouldn’t find her wearing just whatever it was the finest in the land. You wouldn’t find her in the brothels. Only the King would find her in the bride chamber (our closet/ our prayer room Joel 2:16) She was set apart & reserved for the King. We are the bride of the King & Holiness in attire is easier to understand from that prospective. Being complete in him in accordance with 2 Peter Ch.1 Having the mind of Philippians 2. Esteeming others better than ourselves so we don’t judge those who haven’t changed yet. Thank God for the walls & the Beauty of Holiness! Oh taste & see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
The line of demarcation as to what is "bling bling", is what the local pastor sets, I get that. Us females need hair accessories to keep our tresses ("long") in place. There is A LOT of "bling bling" in some of these accessories. They sparkle and shine! It used to be preached if it looks like jewelry, it most likely is. I know I sound self-righteous and don't mean to, but I am wondering about the amount of the shininess of these accessories becoming more and more prevalent in the Apostolic movement.Women's shoes fit in this, also. Some look like what "women of the night" were known to wear. Amish austerity is not my goal. Just somewhat confused.
Yes I was confused by this once at church because I saw a young girl wearing what looked like were 4 inch heels & I knew she couldn’t have been more than 15 years old. They had a thin heel and were strappy & it didn’t sit right with me because I feel like the younger girls should not wear heels meant for adult women. In the streets, that would attract the wrong kind of attention that girls ought to be protected from. It confused me as to her age & it actually worried me and I was a new convert then. They looked like heels meant for strippers. But yes in general I have been seeing some very flashy heels lately.. but it is what it is I guess
