The Vervet Forest is a wildlife rehab series focused on Vervet Monkeys at the Vervet Monkey Foundation. The series showcases the process of taking orphaned and injured vervet monkeys through a foster mother program which helps these rescued orphan baby monkeys to be adopted by foster mother monkeys. Loved this one. Thank you for showing many of the volunteers and staff. It was nice to see them. It is so heartwarming when these little ones find a mom. Giovanni is a brave little guy. Went right to the fence to meet the moms. The little one sleeping on the side of the enclosure was hysterical. Glad to see Floki is doing well. Thank you all for your dedication to these beautiful monkeys. You are all angels sent by God. Bless you all and stay safe.

I really wish I found this earlier before I got broken and disabled and barely be able to do anything for myself. It was a lifelong dream to come and even volunteer with monkeys and what you’re doing. If i wasn’t so broken, I’d be able to spend months with you, helping you out.Thank you so much for videoing and Posting, so I kinda live the dream from here.

This is so heartwarming! It’s nice to watch your videos and relax late at night and not just watch the monkeys and babies but it’s fun to know what the volunteers are doing with the babies and also those who are busy building new cages and making sure these little guys are safe. The work you do is exemplary and pretty remarkable. Thank you for sharing these monkeys with the world. It would be nice to see humans be as kind and loving as these foster moms.❤️

Especially good video this week. Of course they are all good, but this was exceptional. I love Dave's commentaries. He has such warmth, patience and love in his voice. Nearly all the babies he travels to collect end up crawling onto him and sleeping during the drive back to the foundation. Such tiny, traumatised creatures seem to sense that he is safe and will not harm them. He must give off a really loving vibe! Thanks to you all.

Warum entreißen diese Unmenschen überhaupt den Affenmütter ihre Jungen. Zu welchem Zweck. Der Zweck ist doch folgender. Diese Tiere werden missbraucht in dem man sie verkleidet wie Narren und dann Videos dreht. Man stellt das ganze ins Internet. Wir blöden Zuschauer schauen ach diese süßen Affenbabyvideos an und diese banditen bekommen dafür von RU-vid Geld und nicht zu knapp. Sind die Tiere zu groß werden sie entsorgt oder kommen wie sie meinen in Käfige wo sie ihr Dasein Fristen. Es sind Wildtiere lt. Internet die wollen nicht in Käfige sein. Und wie lange füttern diese Unholde diese Tiere durch? Warum sind immer soviele verletzt. Sie glauben doch nicht wenn sie kein Geld mehr einspielen das die dann noch lange gehalten werden. Fragen sie einmal bei wild Life nach.Due werden an Restaurants an medizinische Labore usw. verkauft. Ist nicht auf meinem Mist gewachsen würde mir von Insider mitgeteilt. Nehmen sie bitte ihre rosarote Brille ab. Diese Tiere sind nur eine Geldquelle.

Macaques aren't as thankful and gentle as Vervets. There's to many and they are to wild and demanding

I agree. This group are there to truly help these lovely monkeys unlike the others. It's so cruel what they do. The babies are terrorized. I gave them a few words of what I thought of them and now put them on do not recommend status. These people are loving and kind and truly there to help integrate them back into the population and find them good mothers. This is so different. I will donate as soon as I can. They are a worthy organization.

Effectivement/ vous avez raison/ ça serait une très bonne initiative/car ces animaux ne sont.t pas proteges/ on assisté à des drames ou des braconniers tuent les guenons et le bébé est donc orphelin et ces gens la se font du fric sur le désespoirs de ses bebes singescqui se retrouvent des fois esclaves/ voire maltraités par certains humains malhonnêtes qui ne pensent qu à faire de l argent sur ces innocents bébés en faisant des videos d eux/ voire les affament/ au moins la ils seraient proteges/ c est une très bonne idée.

That little one is making sure that broom is in tip top condition & ready for action. I love the look of concentration/determination they get on their little faces when they are trying hard to accomplish whatever it is they're doing. It's just the cutest thing to watch! I can literally watch the babies & Floki play all day/night.❤ They make me happy when I'm feeling down. And, I've been feeling down a lot since my husband & dad passed away, 14 & 17 months ago. 🥺😢💔

@@kirya11 thank you very much, Cheryl! I'm still having a hard time dealing with both my husband and dad's passing. My husband dying has been the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. I thought it was bad when my mom got sick with cancer then died in 2014, but this is so much worse. Thank you again!

I'm so sorry for your your losses, so close together. I had a major HA in front of my Mom & girl, they made me go to ER. They figured out what was going with me. Then 2 dsys later, my Mom had a stroke, & a seizure. She was suffering from Alzhemiers; she was just a shell afterwards. They moved Mom to a hospi e while I was in surgery. I never got to see her again!!

I almost didn't get to see my husband either but, thank goodness some of the restrictions loosened up with the whole covid thing & I was allowed in the hospital to be with him toward the end.

I really want a poster of the back of Giovanni’s head and all the monkeys outside the gate so interested in him. That was a photogenic moment. You guys should sell posters of amazing moments. Mama Felice is amazing. So confident. The babies are in good hands.

I know that most or many would’ve told you/us that what you do here , even the concept of foster moms , would have been impossible. Maybe you all when starting this thought it might be as well. How “easy” to just write them off and tell yourselves that the shootings , road accidents , etc. are just a very sad reality and that nothing could be done about the survivors in the long term. My hat’s off to you!

I love love love the (videographer) showcasing the monkeys and the workers to let us know how the monkeys are doing since they arrived, how they have healed or when they are ready to go to Disneyland, plus I enjoy the snippets about the monkeys that are separated from each other because they are clinging too much but eventually returned to be with their friends to finally getting a mom! Whoever you are, thank you! It’s a joy to learn about Vervet monkeys…..I had never heard of Vervets until I found your channel.

Of course I watch each and every episode utterly enthralled, but this week's video I found especially exceptional. I loved all the close-ups of their little baby faces; so young, so precious, so vulnerable... in the tender and capable care of their human guardian angels until they are ready to meet their new mums. This week's integration, at that very first moment in mum's arms and they just completely surrender and melt into her... I almost cried to see it, and am tearing up a bit now to think of it. There are no proper words to convey adequately how truly special each and one of you are in the work that you are doing there. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. So Much Love, Gratitude and Many Blessings to All of You - - and to all of us who support from afar in the ways we are able.

My goodness, little monkeys everywhere! 🙂 You all deserve awards for the hard work keeping all those monkeys headed in the right direction. Reminds me of when we used to drive the cattle in; there's always those few independent ones who don't care to go with the flow! 😆 But, in the end, they all find their place, just like the little monkeys. You are correct, Dave, when you say it is hard to describe the warm feels of orphans and foster moms connecting. It often makes us viewers tear up; I would imagine it is much more magnified in person. Wish I could come see. Keep up the phenomenal work.

Dear Vervet Monkey Foundation: I noticed that monkeys like to chew, touch and smell things so what I would suggest and it usually keeps monkeys out of trouble is to buy them pacifiers (small ones) as it prevents them from being so nervous and getting them into trouble and the other is chew toys for the monkeys. Of course, if they're only going to be with you for a month or two, you need not worry. I also admire that there are people who are professional who know how to care for these monkeys. Keep up the good work.

I love these little guys and the way that they warble when they are either upset or excited. I wish I could go and visit the foundation, you do an absolutely amazing job of looking after the orphans, and giving them a life worth living. Do you ever manage to get any of them back out and into the wild?

Unfortunately they can not integrate them in an existing wild troop. The baby wouldn't be accepted and possibly killed by the males.

Great video. I love the integrations and that “first hug” makes me tear up every time! It can also be tough to watch the “selection” process. It doesn’t always work out with the baby I think should be chosen being the one the foster moms prefer. This foundation is miraculous and even when a baby doesn’t leave the intro with a “mom” they at least leave with loving “aunties” who will help them integrate into the troop at large. These babies start out caught between Man’s cruelty and Nature’s indifference. It’s a beautiful thing to watch this foundation reach in to grab these babies in it’s powerful, loving hands and give them a second chance.

Your message does get through, loud and clear, Dave. I have binged on all of the vervet forest series, and it makes my heart so happy when it suddenly "clicks" with the baby that they do indeed have a mother..someone to protect them again. Just beautiful. I'm probably too old to volunteer with such an incredible organization..but I'm showing my son what he could be capable of sharing in just a few years. Thank you for allowing us to join in from all over the world.

Such heart warming work here. I think I can relate to these little monkeys when they first arrive. My 3 brother are dead and recently lost my youngest son. I can see the work you guys do there. I see the love and commitment and all the work everyone does. If I were younger, I'd offer my help. I will find a way to help in some way! You are all loving souls!

Dave you have no idea how much I would live to see a integration live. Another hour well spent. I do have a question. When the babies are about to move to an intro cage, do you try to make a good fit by observing a babies characteristics? Just wondering. Thank you.
