I love watching the Bentist to see other people with teeth problems. My story is that first, my front tooth wouldn't come down because an extra baby tooth was blocking. So we removed it. Then the tooth itself would come down so we attached a chain so it would come down overtime. They took it off, and now I have braces to bring it down.

I love those that have an imperfection in their smile but they rock it and it's part of who they are. Jewel... Crazy mad crush when I was a kid. Freddy Mercury had a grill that most would've wanted braces or to correct it somehow. Not Mr Fahrenheit! He was actually afraid to have ANY form of corrections done because he thought that his teeth were a reason for his extremely unique and badass sound. If he fixed them he wouldn't sound like he does. Not sure if that's a thing but it's awesome to see people embrace their flaws and flip them into a positive.

First braces at 10 - a big removable Andresen Activator to encourage the bottom jaw to grow and hold back the top one and the first of a several expanders until age 18. And 4 molars out because my wisdom teeth came in at age 11 and there was nowhere for them to go. I’m in my fifties now…

Dr. Ben, my maternal grandparents had a wire rope/ski lift business. My uncle asked if I wanted to have him tighten the braces(not an orthodontist), I turned down his offer. Forty-plus years ago. My teeth had been crowded, the separators were a pain to put in. Two and half years, "train tracks" 15-17.5 years old. I played flute, metal against metal was painful, though. They were worth it. It was my decision. Three wisdom teeth extracted prior to braces.
