This has been happening to me for years, since I got out of the Navy. Today I completely collapsed in the grocery store. It's scary. My doctor just tells me to stand up more slowly. Great advice.
Same thing my doctor said! Stand up slowly and stay hydrated! Thank God I didn’t fall or anything but still What a joke tbh. Hope all gets well man ! Shit sucks I can’t even work out like I used to anymore without fearing that something bad will happen!
This year I visited my parents who stay in the countryside and they have a fireplace, so whenever I sit on my legs near the fireplace and get up fast I would immediately feel dizzy and almost blackout. Standing slowly makes it much better.
@@iProHydro That makes no sense. Majority cases it's caused by long periods of sitting/lying down and decreased muscle tone due to inactivity. The gym would fix this. You're not going to faint walking round the gym unless you take a nap on a bench. If you work out regularly you should not have this problem unless you have some medical issue.
Usually, when I stand up too fast I just start seeing black spots and they grow in size, I stumble back and nearly fall over but I can get my consciousness back within seconds.
@@fatvanilla9516 it's because when you sit down for too long, your blood pools in your legs. When you stand up it causes low blood pressure so you start to pass out. It should be normal but if it persists or happens often you should ask about it next time you get a check-up
I hate this feeling! Never used to get this just started up in the beginning of August. Hope everyone in the comment section heals too 100% & can resume their normal lives! Many blessings to you guys! We can overcome this 💪🏼
I’m 21 I’ve always had a slightly below average blood pressure but was assured it was a sign of good health. I thought it was normal to get out of bed feeling dizzy where I loose some consciousness and become limb in a moment that lasts less than a minute. Recently I woke up feeling like I just stepped off a roller coaster ready to throw up but ended up fainting. According to my doc there is a higher chance of orthostatic hypotension leading to fainting if you are dehydrated which I was. I hope everyone in these comments live a long and healthy life and DRINK WATER DAMMIT!!!
When i stand i get these but my vision goes completley blurry and i stumble over. Alot of the times my mind goes blank and i dont know Whats happening.
I just start loosing vision And my vision turns partially black for a few seconds but thats pretty much It, I do feel less stable And if I might be able to fall but not enough to actually fall. Or at least I Hope.
When I stand up this screen comes over my eyes and looks like static on TV and I get lightheadedness and stumble around it happened ever since I had my head upside down hiding behind a dresser playing hide and seek
my whole life ive loved the feeling of this phenomena, i usually feel it coming before it starts and just give into it and let everything go to black then slowly fade back into view, im not sure way but it feels amazing to me have it come over my body and engulf me
I have NEVER seen others with this condition also speaking about their experiences with it. Its making me see that my symptoms are actually common and normal for this condition. I fall a lot, and i have this issue regardless of if I'm standing or not sometimes. Sometimes all it takes is for me to stretch my arms over my head. Or whenever i turn my head/move too suddenly or swiftly. I can't breathe fully anymore, I always feel exhausted. My heart rate will speed up dramatically, then slow down suddenly. I'm trying to learn more about it finally, after 5+ years of knowing, but i suspect I've had it my whole life. Its gotten a lot worse. I'm 22.
I just got diagnosed with this and they suspect mast cell activation and pots is absolutely horrible and it’s interfering with my life so bad I hope you’re feeling better I hope we all feel better tbh
Get an appointment with either Neurologist or Cardiologist and ask them to test you for POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), they might have you doing a tilt table test
I heard of orthostatic intolerance when Greg Paige, the original yellow Wiggle, left the band. He had a heart attack a year ago during concert but was lucky to be alive thanks to a cardiologist there off duty. As a Wiggles fan I hope Greg can cope with this disease.
It's important to see your doctor if you have frequent symptoms of orthostatic hypotension, because they can signal serious problems. It's even more urgent to see a doctor if you lose consciousness, even for just a few seconds.
I often experience this but it's usually mild. It was a different case a couple of minutes ago though, I was hunched over the sink suffocating and hallucinating and my parents tried calling me back (I was so out of it). It's my first time experiencing that and it was so scary. I have anemia but not as worse as when I was a kid and am not currently taking any medications. Maybe it's time to visit the doctor.
I was admitted in the hospital for this when I was 15 after suffering a bad fall resulting in me hitting the back of my head. They gave me and IV drip and jugs of water to drink. 2 days later little to nothing changed when they decided to discharge me and I continued to make the blood pressure machines to continuously beep when standing or sitting and I still remember a doctor speed walking in confused to just see me standing. I still experience these growing blacks while sitting and currently I’m mostly worried about the effect it has on my brain
My father had a bad internal bleed from high dose pain killer and that lowered his blood pressure. He didn't realize when he was going #2, it was mostly blood. He ended up getting blood transplants and after week or two it finally solved it but the doctors couldn't find exactly where the bleed was, despite various tests and scans and making him swallow some device which he never found in his doody. Father also has various comorbidity issues, like congestive heart and kidney failure. My hubby sometimes wakes up in middle of the night to pee and instantly faints for a second. He works out hard at the gym, he is nearly 60. He drinks a few coffee and teas a day but not too much water. I think his may be from dehydrated, maybe some electrolyte issue, as he sweats a lot and sometimes gets cramps. I give him enough protein meals but maybe magneisum.
very interesting. I've had it for years , made worse by medications and never addressed by healthcare professionals. It seems to be up to me to navigate between adaptations and declining medications to find a way to cope.
sometimes i get up and my vision blacks out for a whole like 5 seconds then reverts back, ive always wondering why is does this. thank you for telling me :)
Great video! Very informative. I usually experience a weird headache paired with flashing lights and dizziness when standing up from bed. Also unable to squat or do any postural exercises due to feeling dizzy and lightheaded/confused. Very annoying. I finally have a cardiology appointment and hoping I can get some type of medication to resume my normal exercise routines. Ive been battling these symptoms for over 3 years.
I watched this video because I have been experiencing symptoms of orthostatic hypotension like when I stand up I can see at all because of a huge neon green color with some purple taking up all of my vision and I end up either nearly falling or I do fall and usually it’s not to bad but it really gets annoying recently because it has been happening just randomly now with out me even getting up. Thank you for this video I’m going to try to drink more water and get up slower and see what happens.
When I stand up from siting my vision goes dark,my head feels heavy and hurts a little,I get very dizzy and sometimes I fall,it was gone for about a week but it came back
For those who don't know, small fiber neuropathy that affects the autonomic system is also a cause of orthostatic hypotension. Studies now show that c*vid and the c*vid vax can cause these symptoms due to small nerve fiber neuropathy. A neurologist can do a skin punch biopsy to check for SFN, as well as a qsart test for diagnosis. An autonomic specialist (like my cardiologist) does autonomic testing to diagnose orthostatic hypotension due to SFN.
I did consulted my doctor about this and he says that I’m fine. When I stand up my head feels dizzy&heavy and my vision gets bright&black. It doesn’t matter if I sit/lay down for a long time, just sitting down and standing up makes my head feels heavy. It feels somewhat like when I’m having my carsick. I was born with carsick. It started with that, and later happens often when I’m showering. I remember once it got so bad, that my eyes went from completely brightness to darkness, i lose strength on my limbs, I got tinnitus and then I couldn’t hear anything. I think I almost lose all consciousness, before my mom dragged me out of the shower, where I was half way to the ground. She said that my lips turned purple, and then I got better laying on bed. I think the showering has to do with just the standing up&feeing dizzy, but they might be different conditions. I’m honestly not sure.
I have bouts of this, always first thing in the morning. I get up and start moving around making my breakfast or whatever and just feel like I could pass out, and my heart rate seems elevated. Sometimes if I get up real fast I have chest pain, and once my heart rate went to like 120 bpm. I go and lay back down for a few moments and it goes away. But even minor movements do it, like if I'm asleep, and move from my side to my back, my heart rate increases by like 20 beats until my body settles again. A lot of time I think I'm dehydrated at night. I'm skinny too, 5'11 and 140 pounds. I know a lot of skinny people who say they experience the same thing.
Same w me I have a pot in my head which was increasing until I started taking vitamin c n eating right it seems to be decreasing a bit but I get the feeling also at night when trying sleep it’s really uncomfortable but will b getting check sooner this month ! N I’m 5’9 weigh 134
I can't tend to my garden anymore because of this. It's very uncomfortable and causes me to fall over when I'm not holding onto the cinderblock wall, and no, unfortunately, getting up more slowly hasn't helped. I hate it! 😐
This only happened to me once back when I was 18 (29 now). I remember I was sitting on my bed at night doing my homework and I got up quick to put my paper at the standing lamp to see better. Next thing I know, everything was going dark and I realized I was falling over. Then I was fumbling the lamp before knocking it over and falling to the ground. I thought it was because of the bright light. Now I realize it’s because I got up quick.
This is a wonderful job wow, thank you so much for this. I am wondering, is immobilization and bed rest a causation for ORTHOSTATIC HYPERTENSION as well?
when I get this from getting out of bed too fast, it lasts for a long time, and I legit feel like/ think I'm dying. I have to lay on the bathroom floor and hope I'm breathing 🥺
I workout everyday . I haven’t rested on a while . And today it’s been crazy but I do pee a lot and swear a lot. I am a healthy individual but this is scary and it’s been happening to me lately
Happened to me for the first time after getting the 2020 or 2021 flu shot when I was 14 or 15. I was in the doctor's office still, waiting for my mom to schedule the next appointment when I just felt really tired. I leaned against the wall and then my knees gave out and the brought me in to lay down on a bed. Since then I've found out I'm anemic. It doesn't happen everytime I stand up and it's usually just 3-8 seconds of blindness but one time I fainted. I went blind, held my arms out like I normally do, reached for my door frame and then just fell. Maybe 5-20 seconds later I woke up thinking woah... That's not good.
This happened to me mostly when getting from lower position to higher one like standing up , my vision get black out my eyes open but few sec i will not see anything and a little lost of balance. It got me worried but now i get it
Almost every time I stand up my vision goes completely black for a few seconds and I get super dizzy and sometimes to the point where my body collapses as if I’m fainting but I’m still conscious as I then get up again 5 seconds later and go about my day….but as well as that it sometimes happens if I’m in the shower for instance and briefly turn my head or when I’m walking and the sun is bright in my eyes……..
I just wanna know if I have this (i’m 14) so this just recently started idk when i think around the beginning of 2020??? I’m not sure but one morning I got up for school went to the bathroom. When I got up i stretched and my vision went all black. Then I lost control and fell, I got up and realized i fell inside the bathtub and my head was hurting a lot. My mom was outside the bathroom and told me she was calling my name a bunch of times before i finally answered. Other times I’ll just stand in one spot for a few seconds before falling. When I get up my head will hurt reallllllly badly. (Even if I fall on the couch or the bed my head will just hurt for a minute)
6 days ago I passed out from this and hit my back on a door frame, my back got quite bruised and just today my back has been hurting when I move my arms.
The first time I passed out, I tried to hold on to a wall until the feeling passed but I was too dizzy to see anything and I knocked and shattered over my mirror. I woke up kind of confused but pretended like nothing happened.
is there a part of the body that would cause this if it had some type of pressure against, like a tumor or a scare of tissue build up that would create pressure on something??? neck area? back of head? forehead ?temple?
I'm 14 and when I stand up too quickly, my vision goes completely black and I get really dizzy. I either stumble around like I'm drunk (usually bumping into things because I can't see) or black out. When I black out, I can feel myself falling, but other than that I'm unconscious. Do I have this? And if I do, who should I tell in case it happens? Should I tell my dance teacher or school teachers?
Gabrielle Montgomery it my be low blood pressure, dehydration, or crossing you legs for a long time I have the same thing, it my be your family history Their are treatments, like drink plenty of water, eat salty food or snacks, and stand up slow and go a little fast faster stand up so your body can get used to it.
Im 16 and this began at the beginning of 2020 When I stand up i get nauseous, walk in a weird way and my vision gets blurry (sometimes even black) I passed out 2 times with this after helping my father unload groceries from his car I was athletic and lifting weights before this whole thing started and I really want to start exercising again Is there any way I can stop that so I can exercises without feeling like passing out?
Hey guys, I used have this extremely rarely, like once or twice a year, but I was quite overweight.. Fast forward six months I have now dropped some fat, around, ahem, 24kg and feel way more healthy, but now I experience this Hypotension thingy like 5 times a day, each time I stand from my chair.. Can this be because of relatively fast weight loss ? I'll get my blood pressure checked today. Thank you.
This doesn't concern me since i found a technique of lying down in my knees wherever this happens to me, but later i found out that you have higher risk of dementia if you have this thing that scared the shit of me, since my grandma suffer dementia before she died.
Rhis has happened to me since i was 14. 2 years after i started smoking. I quit 6 months and it didnt happen and now im smoking again and it happened. Im use to it and i sit immediately and either lay down or grab a wall. I dont fully pass out often but it has happened. Hope this helps any of you
I’m only 14 and this has been going on since I was 12 and I don’t know why. I usually feel dizzy after waking up, sitting, but I’ve only fainted 3 times.
im 13 and i stand up or stretch and either feel dizzy or actually pass out. ive been to the doctor about it and they did some blood tests and nothing has happened and im pretty sure this is it
This happens too me multiple times a day and I just sit down for 1 second and I'm fine but if I stay standing my vision will go "black" and if I don't sit down it will get worse until I fall over. Im 15 years old should I go visit a doctor? I would really appreciate a reply it started again recently. I have stopped smoking weed frequently I went from everyday of the week for 2 months too Friday and Saturday recently is that possibly playing into it?
This has stayed happening recently and I’m noticing it’s getting worse. I used to just get a bit light headed and my vision blurred, but now my vision is almost completely gone and if there isn’t a wall or something to lean on I can’t even stay standing. This last for about 20seconds. I don’t know if I should go to the doctor about this or not.
Ok, but what if your fine when your standing or active, but wheni sit down or lay down start either fainting or having chest pain like heart attack, standing back up makes it go away
I thought clonidine reduce sympathetic outflow from CNS, even it can stimulate the local receptors to cause vasoconstriction. Eventually, which effect will win ?
