@@peenerparker846 everyone starts mewing from day 1, except for people with down syndrome. Most people who dont mew, stopped it at a certain age due to allergies or not being breastfed enough
@@ajb577 Just because she's good looking doesen't mean she's perfect. John Mew also mentions her face is slightly back because her lip seal hasn't been good enough.
Mewing is legit. I grew up with horrible posture, aspecially at night. I had an ugly face and always got rejected and bullied. I discovered this channel around 3 years ago and man.... My face looks SO much better, i am considered attractive by most people now and can attract girls. Still, my mental health is quite bad but I'm working on that too :)
I also partly do it because of migraine, i think i have CMD= cranio-mandibulardysfunction I have almost all the symtomps, the problem my insurance don't take the payments, and the treatments are not even near similair what Dr mike mew does :( The migraine starts to really annoy me from day to day
@@agentsmith9858 I would fall into that category of TMJ or the like, something to do with how my jaw closes, pops and wouldn't move in some areas. Been practicing this for almost a year and its helped immensely. This video doesn't say enough about the tung, its actually what's holding your head up straight and keeping your posture, get into mewing, you won't regret it. Also practice yawning, I know sounds silly, but trust me if your tight anywhere in your face, you will have a problem somewhere else, it's all connected.
i wish I knew this when i was 5. parents really need to start teaching this to their kid not only is it healthy but you can also get a good looking face.
About a year in. Been very difficult, but very worth it. The results are particularly clear yet, but I've recently become a nose breather 99% of the time, which is huge for me. Began when I was 16.5, now am 17.5, and am hoping by the time I'm 25 it will be somewhat acceptable. I suppose that may be rather ambitious, but I will be thankful if it occurs at 30, or even 40. Thank you once again, John and Mike Mew.
@@Abhishek-iy3rz I am the same way. I mouth breath when doing rigorous activity or if I just want to sleep, but I have been very very good about mouth breathing while sleeping. I don't know if you were asking me, but I'm 6' 4".
In just 1 year starting from age of 17 i got really good and clear results, that's a good yet not perfect age to start, depends if you are done with growing or like me you have still to grow a few years
Don't feed yourself delusions lol u have to take into account phenotype some just can't look "chad' I've seen teenagers with perfect straight teeth and young adults with perfect to near perfect teeth and they look very average and slightly above average thanks to jawline (not a bad thing)
@Hayden nah, there is 2 ways to do it, aand when u cant breath, then u are doing it wrong, but it is hard to explain what i mean. i been mewing for 7 months.
Beautiful results in both of the siblings. I hope to see more videos like this. Shame those people who are attacking on orthotropics. This always happens when you try to break out of the norm. Thank you so much Dr. John Mew.
My daughter is 5 with all of her baby teeth still. I have begun teaching her to always keep her mouth closed and put her tongue on the top of her mouth. Such easy advice. And she is a cooperative child, and understands the reasons for it. Hopefully we can prevent the teeth crowding that I had as a child. Thank you for these videos.
"Keep your lips closed, teeth ever so slightly touching, with your tongue on the roof of your mouth!" And of course, have proper posture while eating, sitting, standing and walking, and eat the diet that God our Creator intended us to have!
I imagine an episode of the Simpsons where homer and marge were like Adam and Eve and home just picked the bacon of of a pigs belly and it was already cooked

Anyone notice that when she speaks you can see a tendency for an underbite on certain words? Her underbite is still there if only slightly. I’d like to see her progress again in 10 years to see if it’s better or worse.

He uses expanders to create enough space for the children to keep their tongues up without touching the teeth. The problem is they have lost palate space even by age 6 bc they didn't keep their tongues up to begin with.
@@andreas3850 in 20 year Olds it takes years and yes they really need some expansion first for it to be effective I agree. It varies by person though, but most cannot get their full tongue up there due to lack of width (and even depth as it can block the airway if Jaws are recessed). Regardless we should all try to get our tongues up as much as possible.
Orthotropics is not just about mewing lol.. That lady had an underbite when she was young.. He used an appliance to fix that to allow her mew (it is not easy for an 8 year old with such bite to mew) and then let mewing does the rest.
from the beginning till age 14 i had a fucked up face and posture started mewing at 14. I'm now 16, changes are minimal however a lot of my friend even girls have said that i had a glow up
Chewing strains the face way more then simply putting the tounge on the palate, which is why our ancestors were wide faced...they chewed. Yall wasting time on small games. Chewing creates microtears in the bone causing them to grow...LETS GET ITT!!!!!
I like chewing, but well... I don't know what kind of food can i eat that works my jaw muscles. Sometimes i find old bakeries late in the shop and they're very hard to chew :D But that's not a daily regular habit. Everything else is too soft.
Finally someone who speaks sense. CHEWING ROUGH foods is whats gonna get your face wider. This tongue posture is important but is not enough for true widening effect. You dont wanna be this little coping feminine incel with a narrow soft face who is trying so hard to fit his tongue in his palate yet can be crushed with a single slap. You wanna be a wide faced herculean chad who can take a solid punch and still grin.
As a woman, I don't want massive looking jaws. I chewed a lot thinking it would make my cheekbones look better, but all it did was make my jaw wider! I do think I went overboard tho.
Mike Mew, can you please talk about the causes of and/or how to correct hemimandibular hyperplasia/elongation and other forms of asymmetry in the teeth and jaws? I really would love some guidance on this topic, and you’re the only one I trust. Thank you
I had a girlfriend who was instructed to remove one tooth from each side of her mouth to compensate for the overcrowding. She went through with it, and Orthotropics makes me wish I could turn back time and at least show her this option.
Oh my God! She turned out to be a very beautiful girl. Extremely attractive. Gorgeous A+ girl. Amazing teeth. Perfect cheek bones. I wish I knew about Dr. Mew when I was young. I have roundness to my face and lower teeth bites over upper ones. Front teeth are crooked. Can it be cured? Pls help Dr. Mew.
I had a forward facial growth as a kid and did have my tongue on the roof of my mouth but I noticed that my tongue is not on the palate anymore (I had several allergic reactions in years and also hospitalized) and my chin got a little bit recessed! I've been mewing for 5 months now, I hope my facial growth will be back to normal!
I started mewing when I turned 17, I’m almost 18 now, I have seen quite a change in my cheekbones, my palate has definitely expanded, even my appliance I used to wear at night to move my upper teeth back doesn’t fit me anymore and my mum is getting mad at me lol The thing is , my upper teeth do not match my lower teeth, all of my lower teeth are shifted to the right of my mouth... to explain it better, if the back of my tongue was 12 o clock, and my chin 6 o clock, all of my lower teeth are slightly shifted clockwise. Also my the teeth from the upper right side are pushed forwards a bit more than my left side. I think it’s caused because of my lower teeth since the arch finishes a bit to the right instead of in the middle. It’s really hard to explain, idk if anyone has any advice on this...
Hi, I'm not sure on the answer unfortunately but did you keep wearing the appliance since you started mewing until it didn't fit anymore? And is the appliance retainers?
Mike, can you please answer this because I see no actual clear answers online and this is important. Does wearing an Invisalign retainer at night when you go to bed prevent results from mewing? I have heard from Tomazoo to just ditch the retainer all together forever, but I fear from what I heard before from my orthodontist that if I stop retainer user forever that my teeth might go back to their original crowded and overbite form and I really don't want this to happen because I can't afford the time and money for braces to get straight teeth again but I really want to do mewing as correctly and efficiently as possible because I am 23 already. Please if you know the answer to this or anyone out there, I would really really appreciate it, thank you and I love your videos.
Hi Anna, I saw your comment and had to jump on as it’s quite rare to see females in the mewing comments on RU-vid. I’ve learned that if the retainer is pushing teeth out, mewing is ok. If it’s pushing them in, mewing will cause the teeth to wobble as that pushes them out. Are you still doing it? Happy with the results?
Doc, it has been about two months I fixed my tongue posture. I am 25yo and wasn't expecting any results for the first six months, but both my sister and mom have asked me if I am putting weight on because I look larger. The weird thing is that I don't recognize myself in the mirror.
i can see a slight bump in her nose, which makes sense if she hasn't had ideal forward growth in her face, but other that she looks great. would look better if she did things perfectly though! also great job on the mother for taking an interest in her children, so many parents are lazy when it comes to things like this, things that can shape the adult their children will grow into. and obviously john is a living legend, huge respect to him.
I wish I would have know about this as a kid. Would have saved me a lot of depression. I’m 26 with an deep over bite and canted upper jaw is slanted. Weak very small chin and my lower jaw and face is very small I look very weird. It’s to late for me except for surgery but I can’t do that. My medical condition is a problem . So I’m stuck not doing anything about my overbite 🤷🏽♂️ 😔 unfortunately it is what it is.
I'm 27. Mewing for almost a year. So far there's no visible change. Mewing itself is something that requires time and we are already over our growing ages. So maybe we will see changes but it will take much slower and smaller.
I want to add that I still practice correct oral posture now and always will even though I might not see much change. Any change would be nice! I do breath better at night due to mouth taping so that’s nice. I’ve been mewing pretty consistently for about a year with no noticeable change.
Respect to your father. On another topic I'm doing the "mewing" and my jaw hurts is that normal I kinda feel like I'm going to possibly damage my front top two teeth.
I think that large noses and recessed maxillas without maloclusion are caused by tilting the head up as if you were looking at the sealing. It causes the whole face to drop. Even though you can have perfect teeth and tongue space.
@@AImeriia "Occlusion is the only thing that matters" is the attitude of orthodontists. It's the very root of the problem that orthotropics tries to address.
Well, he says it in the video that she had issues keeping her lip seal perfect 100% of the time, so her face recessed a little... She still looks great.
Has Mike or John ever spoken about the effects of language on facial growth? From memory, Mike has spoken about attractiveness varying in different countries, and I believe the movements of the tongue during speech, and making certain sounds, mimic the oral posture and function techniques. Could anyone with experience shed some light on this, or wiling to talk?
In his book, The Cause and Cure of Malocclusion, Chapter 4, John Mew considered a possible connection between Koreans and Japanese people having good dental arches but slightly retruded maxillae and the tongue movements in Korean and Japanese speech. The book's fourth chapter is free to read, and the link is in the description, I think.
What about malocclusion ? I have teeth misalignment and I was thinking about Invisalign and also my bite is very uncomfortable, should i go to the orthodontist or what ?
