Naru meha combo works, but not in the way he is describing. We'll use ghostly flicker as an example. 1. Cast ghostly flicker targeting things. Do not let this resolve for as long as possible 2. Cast naru meha, let resolve 3. Naru meha etb trigger on the stack, copy original ghoslty flicker, targeting naru meha and something else. 4. Ghostly flicker copy resolve, flicker naru meha and other target 5. Repeat steps 3-5 as many times as you want triggering magecraft, etb, ltb, and mana as much as you want This works without orvar to make as much mana as you want by flickering a land and tapping in response to naru meha etb trigger 👍 hope that helps
Orvar got me into EDH, and he has been my main squeeze since day 1. I played in a pod that hadn't seen him before and how crazy he can get on the stack, and people were asking me how that was allowed to be printed
Note, Orvar copies and legendary rule negation is great for doubling his permanent duplication ability; however, targeting an Orvar does not trigger his ability/replicate Orvar itself. “One or more *other* permanents you control.” Copied spells will also not trigger his ability as other comments mention. Running cards like Patron Wizard for heavy wizard control, Swarmyard for land-based commander protection, or Master of Waves for a massive, instant speed, win-con on untap are recommended. 👍👍 Overall awesome vid!
The Naru Meha combo doesn't work. Orvar triggers on you casting an Instant or Sorcery spell. Copying a spell is not casting a spell per rule 706.10. "To copy a spell, activated ability, or triggered ability means to put a copy of it onto the stack; a copy of a spell isn't cast and a copy of an activated ability isn't activated." There are some effects though like Isochron Scepter that create a copy of a card and allow you to cast it, which would trigger Orvar.
