After nearly 66 trips around the sun, it is rare that I am treated to new music that speaks to me. The tones, melodies, lyrics, and intangibles are all here. The Gretch guitars sound so freaking good, and the Telecaster is pure country! Orville Peck can sing! His unique lyrical style and sensibilities catch my ear and don't let go. I'll be listening to more of Orville Peck.

I never thought I'd relate Orville to Ian Curtis. Now its really apparent. The guitar solos on "Turn to Hate" bleed "joy division".

There is a long tradition of masked singers, glad to see someone keeping the tradition alive.

Every time I think I don't like country music, an artist like Chris Issak, Roy Orbison and now this genius makes me rethink my whole take. These KEXP concerts are just outstanding!

I'm a dude trying to start learning how to sing and I'm a baritone discouraged by how many tenor singers are out there now and it's encouraging to see this guy killing it with my range.

All the elements of his image separately are apalling for me, yet he brought it together in a way that is irresistible. That's how it works when someone is a true artist. And his voice is out of this world.

What just happened? That dude rancher shits talent. “Turn to Hate” hit me like a ton of bricks. Powerful AF. Twin Peaks meets Cowboy psyche pop with a side of spaghetti western. ❤️

I am someone who only likes old country from the 40s and 50s. I DESPISE new country, but this man right here is awesome. He's got some old sounds, with some rockabilly, punk, indie vibes? It's awesome, he's the only newer country artist I care about. Seeing him live in June, so excited!!

Well colour me impressed. This is like if Ennio Morricone wrote the theme music for Twin Peaks and Bauhaus was in charge or production.

A friend turned me onto this today. I hear many influences but then there's a completely unique voice and presence. Super f**ckin cool.
