@@AbsurdHeroine Agreed, I do too. If I'm not mistaken I do think both Werewolves and Vampires are going to be featured heavily when Innistrad comes out.
@@theKitCrash There will be two separate sets releasing close to each other (sort of a new experiment, I guess), codenamed for the moment as Innistrad: Werewolves and Innistrad: Vampires.
They really do, but honestly, i dont quite get when in magic they didnt have to... It's not like removal hasnt always been as good as it is now. Especially boardwipes.
@@dkznikolaj7013 well there were a lot of old aggro decks with vanilla good stats, or good stats with drawbacks. Or just good keyword abilities on a relevant tribe. Now in standard that's unheard of. Adventures 2for1, death triggers, instant value, flash and haste is where it's at now, for every piece of your deck. I prefer Brawl as a format since its not everything is a threat and a missed land drop isn't an automatic loss.
@@dkznikolaj7013 sure, but I don't like that. I'm more of a "Timmy". I play for the experience, for the flavor, for the fun. In standard ladder everyone plays "Spike" cards. Thankfully, Wizards still cators to "Timmies" and "Johnnies".
@@samuraicupcake289 Emm... wanting to play weak cards doesn't make you a Timmy. That just makes you want a lower powerlevel. Timmy players are simply people that play what they find fun regardless of the meta - and regardless of how good the deck actually is. I'm a real example of that. I've played mono green through all metas, no matter how trash it was. Currently, I'm almost only playing standard golgari elves, despite them having multiple lacking features. If you simply want worse cards to be useful, then idk when you would have ever wanted to play... It's not like 10 years ago, a 5/5 vanilla for 5 would somehow be considered good.
@@AbsurdHeroine Great. You can look at Jank Tank on Discord for some screenies. I think it's my best build of Kaldheim so far. I've done Giants, Taxes, and Mono White Angels so far. The Righteous Valkyrie is an absolute awesome card.
Cool deck! Angels was the first deck I built for Khaldheim. My version, after a lot of trying and failing, runs the white aggro shell with Selfless Savior, Speaker of the heavens and Luminarch Aspirant. Gives your opponent some early threats to handle and protects your angels.
I think the Rampage of the Valkyries is very useful. Is it the most useful? Maybe not, but is definitely better than Vengeful Reaper. Because comparing their mana cost and their use, they kinda fill a similar purpose but Rampage does it better. Vengeful Reaper costs 4 mana for a 2/3 Deathtouch, Haste, Flying. The haste is nice and the foretell is definitely welcome, but at 2/3 stats, it doesn't hit that hard so the haste can be less useful and it's 3 toughness. The Deathtouch can help with defense and trading creatures... but so does the enchantment and I think right now enchantments are harder to remove than creatures. Rampage of the Valkyries is 5 mana is at least a 5 mana for a 4/4 flying angel. It has 4 toughness and if the enchantment sticks (which is not that hard to stay) it can work as a similar way the Deathtouch from Vengul Reaper, offering trades, but if you have multiple, each one you lose makes them lose even more. Is it amazing? Not really, but you said multiple times in that match that "his angels are so shit" and the deck still gave you a lot of trouble because of that single card. Now imagine your deck with these angels and an enchantment that kills your enemies stuff if they kill your stuff? I think there is argument to put Rampage of the Valkyries instead of Vengeful Reaper. I'm not condemning your decision not to, I just like to discuss these stuff. It was a veey fun video :) Have a good day \o/
Cool deck. I'm playing a similar version but without the cost reducer. Instead i am running banishing light and elspeth conquest death aus a solution for things like rampage of the valkyries. Talking about rampage its also x2 in the instead of the lantern and Angel of destiny replaces Bane Slayer angel. The alternate win con ist just great 🙂
My new favorite combo is Athreos/Eradicator Valkyrie/Rampage/A spare angel. Recurring sac target for Eradicator's boast that forces two sacs from opponent (or more if you get more Rampages down.)
I tech'd in Sejiri Shelter and its done wonders to protect my angels. Halvar God of Battle is great as well if you play his artifact side. Giving any of the angels vigilance is powerful, but theyll return to your hand if they die. These 2 cards i put in give much value off the removal heavy meta.
In my opinion, Rampage of the Valkyries is the core of this deck, punishing removal is super good, and you get a serra angel on top! When I manage to put two copies on the board most opponents just scoop because their removal hurts them more than me. Also super effective against mutate decks.
Have you tested heralds horn over starn for cost reduction? I’m on a budget right now, and I don’t want to make the wrong choice. Can you test this for me and let me know what works better? Also, Lyra Dawnbringer I believe would fit well here.
Yeah VR seems like anti-synergy given that your creatures are so valuable. I guess the logic is your angels are huge targets for removal so you can slip in the VR when already getting hit. And the flavor of that opponent providing all those goats to sacrifice was just perfection :)
Watching the first game made hate mono red in a completely different way 😂 Great deck though! I will build this, when I am done with my tergrid / Croxa deck! Maybe with divine visitation and hopilite in historic 🤔
I love angels, my fav tribe by far. But I hate how much the current meta hates on big creatures that don't do anything until your next turn, removal and board wipes are just so cheap right now. Any good cards for protecting jank like this?
I'm glad youtube thought itself "You watch CGB, HHG and MagicShibby, try this one". I swear I was sweating more than you in that mirror match actually. Makes me consider some cardchoices of yours, Cup for example is waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than I thought. See you on your next brew!
Angels looks like a fun deck, although the mirror match looks absolutely miserable lol. I’m looking forward to what you’ll brew up next, personally I’ve been disappointed to see that there aren’t a lot of people brewing with the set yet.
Ive seen most lists run the mythic land that produces angels on the flip side, and the new sorcery that you can foretold for xx1 angel, 4 of them are "free spots" and the other 4 a full refill, looks great. Wont try it cause of all the mythics it requires but if anyone has them, i feel like itd be much fun. Id 100% remove them 2/3 angels, and you prolly wont need the enchantment that was played, or maybe for some specific decks as 2sideboard spots for midrange but meh.
I thought game 1 was over when Baneslayer entered. Soul Sear takes out Baneslayer. Then I thought "now" it'll be over, after a second Baneslayer entered. A second Soul Sear. Crazy first game. Then game 2 happened. WOW!
Great deck Heroine. So what was your whiskey/scotch of the day? Maybe I missed that part, but love hearing what you have each video... bring that aspect back!
I'm glad you liked that! I liked that too. I've been recording during the day more, so I've mostly been drinking coffee during the sessions. I'm currently drinking Hatozaki, a Japanese whiskey someone gifted me. It's not bad!
That Rampage was very annoying. I will have to give that a try. There is a big black angel as well that looks rather annoying. Undecided what to craft still. Thanks for show casing angels.
That second player was close but got it wrong... He shouldn't be exiling his graveyard. He should be building it up for a haunting voyage. Triggers all your righteous and youthful valkyries coming back... You can go from close to death and no board state to several +4/+4 that, with rampage, punishes anyone who tries to take them out.
I was pretty quickly like "ok, clearly this dynamic is befuddling if you haven't played it before, I'm not gonna make a big deal out of it", but playing 2 angels right before attacking straight into the sacrifice triggers did cause some hear-tearing haha.
Why play more than one angel at a time in that game with rampage of the valkyries. You will always lose those trades... if you only play one you trade one for one and maybe gain life.
Oh wow funny how the first game is my everyday match in plat 1 historic... Removal, Removal, Removal, Removal, Removal, Clear board, Removal, Removal and Removal..... lol
rampage = garbage??????? yeah, no. the only thing that elicits more scoops is when the righteous valkyrie gets the double boost to stats. usually once someone figures out that every time they kill one of mine they lose one too, they are done playing.
As someone who mains an angel deck, this was kinda painful to watch. You deeply undersell the value of Righteous Valkyrie and her incredible synergy with literally all angels to gain insane amounts of health and buff everything. Rampage is great because people are gonna kill your angels whether you want them to or not so might as well make them pay for it, right? Plus Eradicator and with Harbinger let's you constantly make opponents sacrifice their own creatures while you just lose some tokens, so you could even throw in a Tergrid to take advantage of that when it gets rolling. Also and Athreos or Kaya would just bring your stuff back no issue, also allowing you to gain more life with Righteous out. There's just a lot of good combos that you didn't even scratch the surface on.
tough luck that (except for the angels mirror) you had to present such nice deck against three very boring decks. arena is so meh atm till some meta solitifies
Just don't even put the games against dimir rouges in the videos. Even watching that deck is infuriating. I insta concede as soon as I see it because its not worth my time.
