Looking back I kinda did piss poor with this set. Granted it was only my 2nd ever attempt at something like this but still. Be on the lookout for the update patch, Osaka (along with a certain crab) will be getting *plenty* of changes...
Happy to hear that there are still some people out there who watch the show as this was the first anime that properly got my attention! Ah, where did the years go :) Yeah, the Azumanga Daioh resprites are decent but the fact that she wears an inflatable float and swimsuit when dashing is kinda weird... however I think her slow paced playstyle fits the character very well. As for the moves themselves, I feel the seaslug is too easy to get rid of (like, only one jab?). I also feel the first 2 paragraphs of 1:57 need to be demonstrated via animations, not text-only. Really like the slow but combo starting nature of her Side B and Up B though! Though I have to admit her Down B doesn't seem that inspired. Her Final Smash is just ok, but points for representing one of her stranger moments in the show. Still gonna give this one a pass! Wanna see how you pull off Yukari and Soldier (who I admittedly, even back in the day, never considered it one of ARL's most creative movesets).
Wow that was fast! Anyways, Osaka's moveset was really good! The animation and camera zoom were top notch! Tamatoa's standards made me chuckle especially his Down Throw. However, in some frames in animations, such as Arle's walk cycle and Nano's idle, are blurred but I'm sure you could fix that easily. I don't really have much else to say except great job! :) Yooooooooo, Memeulous looks sick! Thx for the cameo!
I'd be interested to see how our Soldier movesets differ, but in any case, this was good! There were some pause to read moments, and there's a few moments where it felt a bit too slow or fast, and some moments where it should've been moved around (the pigtails should've been mentioned earlier because I thought they were part of the Up B at first), but it's still pretty good!
owo another so quickly!! and nicely animated as well yushhhhh this was amazing!!!! u did such a bug good and the moves themselves are a 1up to the last one(so proud!) the sprites are the only thing i have issue with, her hesd becomes bigger and clothing changes are jarring,,,, however a comment wont suffice for me, so i offer my services in discord dms!~ same for the other blurry sprites but i’m sure you’ll get that covered soon!!! other than that, this was pretty solid! u got the potential for big boi-hood 🍪
Call me a nitpicker, But I would have liked some reference to Osaka's infamous shoe scene which is seriously the only reason I know of this anime. Other than that, you did an Awesome Job! I loved Osaka's Moveset and I have High Hopes for your Spinoff. (Also I want to see this anime now.)
Mighty impressive, especially how this came out so fast while still looking VERY nice except few minor flaws pointed out already. I'm excited to see how the other characters turn out. I find this to be a Lawl I keep up with in the future. Besides that, I have a few recommendations if you find it ok. (Cuphead n Mugman) *Cuphead Franchise* (Simon) *Pokémon Sage* (SpongeBob n Patrick) *SpongeBob SquarePants Franchise* (Sonic) *Sonic Mania Adventures Franchise* (Kratt Brothers) *Wild Kratts Franchise* (Kevin) *Ed, Edd n Eddy Franchise* Excited for whatever you put out next. :o)
I’m surprised you used the Azumanga Fighter sprites to start with (as used in Tamatoa’s moveset) only to actually use editing through the anime itself. What made you choose to use those at first for Ayumu Kasuga and Yukari Tanizaki before the change?
The reason why I used them in the first moveset was because they were what I had at my hand at the moment. It was only after releasing the moveset I realized how weird they looked with the rest of the cast with the help of a few comments, so I went ahead and completely changed them.
Something tells me you should’ve put a bit more time before releasing this. While Osaka’s sprites were nicely done (but that Side-B flop could’ve been worked on a bit imho) some of the other fighter’s sprites look rushed with how choppy/blurry they are (with prime examples being McCree’s hurt sprite and Yukari’s Down Air). The keying during the victory poses wasn’t very good either, so that’s something you should perhaps work on. Not to mention, Solider’s face is *still* obscured during his idle. You fixed this issue for McCree, so why didn’t you bother to fix it for Solider? Aside from that though, this moveset isn’t too shabby. Despite not knowing the source material all that well, I can say the moves accurately fit Osaka’s playstyle. I especially liked the way the Final Smash was done. So all in all, this wasn’t as good as Tomatoa’s set, but enjoyable at least. I think for next time you should work on your keying and put more effort into the sprites so they don’t look as rushed.
The reason this got out quicker was that I already had the full moveset planned out. The current way I'm spriting does kinda make everything look a little low quality, so I'll be taking time on reworking how I sprite stuff as well as edit some things to look a little better. But hey thanks for the criticism. I'll be sure to take these issues into account so that the next moveset turns out a little better.
Ok I guess my mayor problem will be the down B, this one feels pretty generic and it doesn't really stand up on his own (also this one didn't have a inspiration clip) and you should try to practice your cutting skill with the videos mostly on the victory screen, but overall is very good BTW this character have to many cooldowns
