This is just my thought. I think the bridge is visualizing and embodying a unique world that exists for only the two characters, Kobato and Osanai, since the anime keeps showing the place when they talk to each other. In ep 1, the world was bright because they were maintaining the ordinary life but the world in ep 3 turned into red and dark as Osanai decided to take revenge, which I think is conveying that their world is on the verge of falling apart.

14:51 I’m anime-only too, but yeah, I think the bridge metaphor is supposed to depict Kobato and Osanai are at a moment where they’re about to cross something. And whew, Osanai is certainly cross enough to cross someone off… Also makes sense that Kobato didn’t reveal whose desk had the cheat sheet. I am highly curious about what sort of shit Osanai pulled in the past.

This anime is either just playing the audience (as they really like to be artistic with shit) or they became friends because one time she planned something evil and he figured it out before she was done with it and convinced her to not do it. And so they made the promise to be ordinary. Or as i said it was just a prank on us xD

LOVE THIS SHOW TOO! I feel like it's underrated with many people saying it's boring and even people saying that only the third episode was good while the first two were trash which is not true at all. Sad how so many people can only appreciate action and fast-paced stories but aren't able to appreciate nuanced and more sensitive story-telling approaches. Not to mention the insane animation quality on these episodes, I really hope it doesn't drop off midway through the season because so far every single scene has been amazing to look at.
