Manny is a different animal amongst the boxing elite. He doesn't have the ego our western greats carry in believing in themselves. He truly puts his position amongst his people above any personal glory, he loves the challenge of fighting the best and showing his people what can be achieved. A loss doesn't affect him like it does the others, for him it's a challenge to improve, it's about perception and he can become better for it unlike the past greats we have seen when beaten and their star diminish. He really is a different animal.

Manny proved in his last fight against Mattysse his courage, toughness and greatness. He beat all odds and it proved that Manny is the guy who always strive even he failed at some time. He has a different courage and focus, that makes him so different and special.

people dont know how important oscar de la hoya and golden boy promotions is for the sport of boxing. he really is a big personality for boxing, knows his boxing, and was a legendary mexican fighter. his promotions company is way better than bob arum cuz they make fights happen. canelo mayweather is happening because oscar de la hoya makes fights happen. this guy is spectacular, and i think he is the best at what he does.

Manny is too old but he is a living SAMSON today he is not an ordinary human being he is so kind down to earth person and most of all he is a super religious person thats why GOD IS WITH HIM when he needed in all his special time ! Manny Pacquiao was knocked out in '96 by Rustico Torrecampo, and by Medgoen Singsurat in '99. Did he recover since then? Yes he did. Will he recover from his last KO, probably.

I agree in Brazil MMA is bigger, jiu jitsu is huge there, the rest of south america like Argentina, Ecuador etc are boxing country's. At the end of the day both are popular but it think boxing has a better global reach.

Steroids made the difference in that fight! JMM couldnt live with the way the previous went down...The KO even if he needed Memo Heredia and the PEDs to him was worth it but inside he knows he couldnt win without them..

Not to mention his Barkley win was one of the most impressive wins in his career if not the sport. Duran coming in as a pudgy 38 year old Mexican guy with every physical disadvantage possible, looked like David vs Goliath and he had just KO'd Hearns and Duran slugged his way to victory.

Ya, even marquez looked out of prime and slower, but he did something amazing in that fight. He put his chin out there, risked losing to catch manny coming in like that. It was masterful and very cunning what he did and can't blame manny for falling into that trap. He had Marquez hurt and went in for the kill, not realizing Marquez was setting that trap. It was a hell of a lot more than a lucky punch.

DLH is mistaken b/c although Duran fell face first but he wasnt out cold. Duran was back on his feet seconds after. the final bell rang. The other guys he mentioned where knocked out crisp and those are the KO's fighter dont comeback from. Duran was dropped but they didnt have to stabalize his neck and give him oxygen

I'm from a family of boxers I know the sport. TKO is a knock out dude it doesn't matter if you hit the canvas or not it's still ruled a knock out. TKO meaning Technical Knock Out. Also Ali's last fight was against Trevor Berbick. Now go get your self a Boxing 101 handbook and learn the basics.

True but over the year they have been down, what UFC fans don't realise is that Boxing is bigger in Europe, Mexico, South America ans so on, I china a boxer who made his pro debut got 200 million viewers in china, UFC can only dream of that atm, boxing is bigger world wide by a long, long way. Not bashing UFC btw, just saying Boxing is bigger.

It's obvious to me that my analysis is probably more correct than yours. After I posted my analysis, I read from ESPN's Rafael who said exactly the same thing: "Pacquiao badly hurt Marquez, who was now bleeding from his nose, with a right hand in the toe-to-toe final minute, prompting Lampley to exclaim at the bell, "All-out war in Vegas!" Pacquiao looked like he was closing in on a stoppage in the sixth round after continuing to land heavy, damaging shots" (Dan Rafael, ESPN).

He was before during in his early pro fight. Pac was KOed unconcious by another Filipino on same manner like what happened on his last bout. But he didnt lose hope and rose up of to become of what he is today.

Ricky and Manny are different imo, Ricky was on the backfoot after 10seconds into rd1. Manny was doing well (on scorecards) up until his knockout. I haven't seen the other cold knockouts. But i think theres a big difference between getting knocked out cause you dipped in form or a somewhat lucky punch. All credit to Marquez of course, doing that to the P4P king with a broken nose is quite epic.

I think Don King was the pioneer of the modern day boxing business. Granted, he got lucky with Mike Tyson being born, but still, King made a lot of money for many fighters. Before his time, boxers didn't make that kind of money. He was a shady guy for sure but it seems people have followed suit because of him and thats why Golden Boy is doing really well.

My analysis: Pac was on his way to beating Marquez's face like he did with Cotto. Pac landed some blistering shots in that last round. The difference was the short right that landed perfectly as Pac was coming in. The difference was that Marquez was stronger this time. I saw a stoppage coming. If Pac didn't get caught, Marquez would have been stopped within the next three-four rounds. Having that said, there is no reason why Pac can't come back. He got caught. He got caught & KO'd before.

@montaque mcfadden it wasnt really his team, it was more so roach and pacquiao fans....am a pac fan and i didnt think marquez was sauced at all...people exagerate he wasnt that big, he was just really dry he likely did a carb depletion carb load to acheive that look...plus he trained for 4 1/2months and they train 6hours a day it was no wonder he looked so great..

Sadly MMA has fallen off in Japan and it's a shame because it basically comes from there. When UFC went last year they sold 15,000 tickets but back in pride days it was 40k plus. However you're right, MMA in Brazil is huge, MUCH bigger then in America. As for Canada, I have a feeling numbers may drop if GSP is ever beaten unless they produce another dominant champion. Either way MMA is definitely the future of prize fighting. Boxing will always around but I think it will take a back seat to MMA.

you ever heard of Duran?...... Hearns kod him but came back to win a championship belt. The guy is made of different cloth, for instance the recent boxers who was put to sleep like Hatton or Paul Williams they didnt want to do an interview right after fight cause it let the loss affect them. Pac on the other hand gets up dust off himself congratulate JMM and give him props. Life is boxing in life you get knock down or knocked out but you get back up to live another day and fight.

Looked up Duran and after sidestepping the generation of Hearns, Hagler, and Leonard, he won a title. A trio of boxers with HOF skill, while Iran Barkley pulled off the upset v Hearns, he was then outmatched by a crafty veteran in Duran. Still, Duran winning vs Barkley doesn't returned to stature of Hearns, Hagler, Leonard like he once was. He certainly doesn't return or comeback better than ever by winning a title.

then again boxing been at it for decades, and the UFC is fairly new. also the UFC has just recently gotten into expanding it to other countries, it isn't even legal in some places in canada. I think UFC will take over boxing in the future. I don't think one sport is more interesting than the other, the fighters determine that. and it's so true how with all these different championships in boxing it just ruins the sport. you can have 5 different champions in the same weight class and never fight

Chinooo S ,he was losing the fight and was about to get knocked out hisself before he landed that lucky punch.he'll never give Manny a rematch cause he knows he gonna lose again like usuall.paquia is to nice when he win he beat Marquez those other fights he shouldn't have gave him a rematch.first of all boxing is so corrupt that Manny knocked Marquez down 4 times in like the first 2 rounds in there first fight so that means that Marquez would have had to win the next 4 rounds just to tie the fight which we all know he didn't but he didn't and he lost that fight to but they cAlled it a draw to make more money on the rematch. like that coward canelo alverez ran the whole fight after GGG hit In the 3rd round and he felt that power and got scared.now canelo is 27 and in his prime and he is so scared of GGG who is 38 that now he's taking steroids.smh

Not putting much stock on De La Hoya's comment about fighters getting knocked out not able to come back. Time to be proven wrong! No other fighter (not even Fluffweather) can say they have 8 titles in 8 different weight classes...none. Go Pacman!!
