I’ve stayed at two different sites at Oscar Scherer. Both sites had water, but they are hard to spot. The water lines are often in the bushes dead center between the sites, which means that you should carry extra hose to reach your rv and you have a 50% chance that your water line is coming from the wrong side (that was my experience). The sites that say no pets are all along the stream, so the concern is that the pets may attract Gators etc. Great review. Thanks for sharing

I Have stayed at site 15 and 16, its close to the bathrooms, playground, and trail that goes to the beach. It also has access to the creek behind it so you can put in your kayak anytime you want or go fishing. I love this park because of the water access and dont care about if the sites are wide or have a pad, just want water access to put my paddle board in.

This was super helpful. For me I have only a little camper van so my main concern is SHADE at this time of year (August), so showing the sites and including the map is awesome.

Guys, it is a lovely, lovely area. There is every convenience here, but there are lots of natural areas nearby. Myakka is a lovely state park as well. Actually Florida has amazing State Parks, period.

Lol. We stayed in site 25 and loved it 😁. Water is between 24&25. We do have a 25' so was easy for us and very old Floridaish with the trees and shade and loads of space. Not a fan if the playground being right there but it was closed while we were there. We also have a few favorites there. Thanks for the tour!

Late to the party, but the park name Scherer and is pronounced "share-er". You said it so many times, I had to say something. All sites, except the two tent only have water and power... some water spigots you have to look for.

They have water hookup. Its between 2 sites, have camped there for years

You said there's a swimming beach,but aren't there gators, I mean there there's very few bodies of water no matter how small without a gator,that's the reason they don't c allow pets. Nice video very thorough,thank you

I would be more worried about the flesh eating bacteria. As someone that has lived here for 20 years I wouldn't get in that nasty water and not cause of the gators.

Absolutely! There are no pet areas! Fort DeSoto also has pet and no pet areas. It that common?

We’ve been there a few times & if I remember right you can’t pick a site on water side if you have a pet.

@@rebeccagangi4228 You are correct. It's pronounced like the scissors "Shear" then "er" (shearer). I live the next county over from this park and camp there frequently.
