Dyna Ruvy yeah i loved the versace i don’t understand the hate towards donatella. I know he is way more qualified at judging fashion than I am, but fashion is so subjective that i just don’t get why you should tell a stylist to leave and “go back to h&m” or judge donatella after she so bravely took her deceased brother company and is doing her best. i just think it’s a little extreme, no hate though. I've watched a lot of his videos and I think I get the general message: While there are exceptions to rules, in general, don't throw belts on dresses. don't make a plunging neckline plunge into a U shape instead of a V shape. Stick with your core concept of what you want the piece to be and don't go crazy with 5 different main focuses of the dress. Don't be boring. Match your effin colors and fabrics. If you're gonna layer, it better be the right fabric and creates the right silhouette. If it's haute couture, it better effin fit the person's body. If there's nude mesh, and you put the piece on someone of color, the mesh better match their skin tone. If you're gonna drape, that ish better look tight. Don't choose a piece if the color will wash out the skin of the person wearing it. And if you're going to reference a classic piece, don't have the end result tarnish the image of the original piece. Do it justice.

Does she have a stylist? If she doesn't, she needs one. If she does, she needs a new one. That Chanel outfit was ugly. The fit was terrible...even an oversized outfit should still fit. The nails and gloves were awful. And the black double C Chanel logo looks like a big stain on the jacket.

In fact, I'm getting tired of female celebrities who seem to be in a competition to see who can wear the skimpiest, tightest tighter-than-skintight outfit. I'm not criticizing BE for wearing an oversized outfit...my criticism is that it didn't fit well, and the accessories weren't right for it. I've seen her in many different oversized outfits...in my opinion, this one just didn't work.

latinope you’re both absolutely right. this is about a deeper issue in society. that part about it being a brand is very accurate. lots of women like to make being sexy part of their brand and are shamed for it. but being edgy/masculine is praised. the kardashians have made wearing their impossibly curvy bodies as accessories their signature thing and love to exude sex appeal. of course they’re criticized to no end. i’ve always suspected it was some lowkey implicit misogyny. women who wear crop tops, short skirts, etc often are criticized way more harshly for their style. but the girls who wear baggy pants & hoodies are perfectly fine. billie gets a pass because she doesn’t sexualize herself.

The sleeve on Charlize's dress was more of a drape and was meant to be "falling off," lol. I remember her mentioning years ago that she has wide shoulders (as do I) so she looks for dresses with asymmetrical tops to trick the eye. My issue with the dress is that black is too harsh for her and ages her imo, and the scooped neckline is supposed to reveal cleavage that she doesn't have because she's too thin. It was just not a good dress for her.

I don't think that was what he was saying at all; he used a dress as an example, not a staple. he was trying to put forward that there are more ways to achieve the "baggy aesthetic" than doing the same thing over and over again and he's right. Even if she only wants to wear pants, there's ways to do it but make it different every time. If Billie never wears a dress that's her choice but no one can say that Gucci pajamas is the only thing she can ever wear to fit her aesthetic. He brought up a good point in one video where he took a look at things Missy Elliot, who at one point had the exact same aesthetic, wore that still fit the aesthetic she wanted but were iconic looks. TL;DR He's not saying Billie has to wear a dress or wear something form fitting, he's saying there are other ways to achieve the same aesthetic while still being different every time.
