He's even mocked Murphy who got called by Chris Nolan for preparing as Oppenheimer 6 months before production on Vanity Fair Interview while he said he learnt to conduct for 7 years for Maestro. Sadly, what he did was for a desperation to win an Oscar not for a talent, hardwork or quality. His co-star, Carey Mulligan is the true star in Maestro not him. Also, last year, there was Tar, another conductor movie starring Cate Blanchett. So, Maestro is like male version of Tar.

i don’t think i’ve ever really cared enough for celebrating oscars. but watching cillian win this and watching his journey i actually feel oddly proud? the dude has been an incredible actor his whole life and i remember when i first watched him in red eye thinking he’s pretty decent. and he’s been so big because of peaky blinders and everything else, so to see him win all these accolades now is so amazing and so emotional. well done cillian you’re so talented and truly worthy of all this recognition you’ve been receiving EDIT i love seeing all the positive comments about him. you really can’t fault the dude. and the genuine joy on his face when he’s up there is soooo different to the low key cillian we know in the press. again, i am so happy for him and he truly deserves this.
