Its cuz the academy wants this film polished with 7 oscars so when the future generations see this movie on a shelf one day it’ll catch their eye and be forced to check it out. They will understand the revolutionizing cause and effects that Oppenheimer brought to the world during the 1940’s that affect us today detrimentally (Russia,Ukraine) that will no doubt affect the future generations.

To all people criticising “that old guy” Al Pacino and insulting him saying he’s drunk or on drugs, he’s always been uncomfortable in those kinds of circumstances, whether he was 23 or 83. Just because he’s not your average overconfident Dwayne Johnson guy doesn’t mean he deserves so much disrespect, especially regarding his legendary career. He simply is a simple man and no, he won’t make en elaborated Zendaya speech that’s gonna be forgotten in one minute. Simply because he is how he is and honestly, thank God we have actors like him that are still around to teach us humility.

Not sure what this has to do with the fact that he had a script to read and nominees to mention. He ruined the moment leading up to the announcement. All the films had a right to be mentioned and their clip shown. Being simple has nothing to do with making a huge mistake. Don’t get wasted before you complete your task at the friggen Oscar’s. Pretty sure many others weren’t laughing it off.

As a movie lover who is crazy for movies, I watched the whole thing live and watched it over again. I have waited for the moment for wonderful people like Cillian, RDJ, Chris, Emma, Jennifer and Hoyte to get the attention they've long deserved, and to see them finally get it was a dream come true. I want to congratulate them. Cillian, I have been a life-long fan of yours, ever since I was a little child. Seeing you in small parts of great movies or lead parts of small movies was sad. I always knew that you deserved the big stage, the awards, the attention you deserve. Your acting was incredible from the start of your career, your stage plays, and your first few movies, I could see your potential, even if I was young. I started supporting you from then. I have been by your side, through difficulties, and successes, cheering for you, crying for you, and always being there for you, no matter what they say. I knew that you would eventually get the attention, and the awards you deserve, and I was waiting for it. Today was the day. Today, your career has drawn a path in this industry, a path that will last forever, and I congratulate you. You have deserved it. Growing up, I watched your acting through bad times, when I was down, and you were the reason why I could be the happy child I deserved to be. I want to thank you for that. You have always been there for me. I could also always relate to your actions and your personality as they were similar to mine. That meant a lot for me as a child, as a teenager who was insecure about herself. Maybe it isn't an exaggeration to say that you have saved me and that you are the reason why I am still here, I am still passionate, and I am the person I am today. Seeing you get better and develop into an amazing actor could never be better, it was the best thing that has happened in my life. My goal is to sit together with you, in front of the biggest stage in Hollywood, and say these things to you in person. Again, congratulations on the win, you have long deserved it, just remember, this is just the start, just the start of the attention you deserve. I wish you the best, stay healthy, and just be yourself. Words cannot describe how happy I am for you. I love you. Congrats! Robert Downey Jr, congratulations. You have been an idol to me. You were my childhood. Your acting has always been spectacular and you are a wonderful person in general. You have never failed to make me smile even during tough times. You always made my day. This award was yours for a long time actually, you deserved it so much. Congratulations your performance was magical. Christopher Nolan, congrats! You were my role model ever since I was young. I have always been interested in movies, and the film industry, and your movies always opened up my mind. Your movies taught me important lessons, your movies always were my favourite things in the world. Thanks to you and Emma, I began to dream about a job in the film industry, and I started loving making simple films. I love your movies, your thoughts, and your process. I love your personality and the person you are. You have created countless masterpieces, you have developed many actors into who they are today, and you have touched countless people including me. This movie is a masterpiece. Thank you so much and Congratulations on your win! I would also like to thank the wonderful casts and crews of this masterpiece, especially Emily, Matt, Hoyte, Ludwig, Universal Pictures, and so much more. Your hard work has moved countless people. This movie will never be forgotten. All of you deserve an Oscar. Thank you so much. Words cannot describe my happiness and gratitude.

Idk the negative comments are kind of telling here. 1/3 of them are made by people with the shortest attention spans, 1/3 are by people who think this movie is a celebration of the atomic bomb itself, and the remaining ones are people who for some reason are upset that a movie based around a scientist recruited by the gov. During WWII has politics in it? What did you expect? It’s a movie about war, specifically based on the novel “American Prometheus” which is about Oppenheimer’s life leading up to and after the atomic bomb. At the very least learn what the movies you’re going to watch are about/based on.
