Irregardless of an aircrafts configuration the principles of flight remain the same. Great to see all these examples.

I grew up going to the EAA Airshow as a kid in the 60's at Rockford Illinois then Oshkosh after they moved every summer with my dad and family. Had a blast. The last time was on my Honeymoon on 3 weeks leave from Coast Guard Airstation Traverse City Michigan with my Mom along in 1978. I was a Coast Guard Aviation Machinist Mate 3d class Grumman HU16e Albatross seaplane and Sikorski HH52a Seaguard helo Flight Mechanic / Hoist Operator. We traveled from Flint Michigan where I grew up just north of Flint in Mt. Morris up to the UP and over west to Wisconsin down to Oshkosh. My Mom had hurt her left wrist and couldn't drive for more that a couple of hours so we went along to drive her there. She had taken over representing Jurka Aviation sales of Marcel Jurka's plans for homebuilt 3/4 and 1/2 scale P51 Mustangs, FW 190's and Spitfires when my Dad had retired and moved to Paris France. Marcel was the first person who started the scaled down WW II fighter replica movement. He was a veteran Royal Romanian Luftwaffa ME 410 pilot who in 1944 defected in his nightfighter configured aircraft after the death of his parents in a bombing raid. He flew out with his crew and 2 ground personnel to allied lines and settled in Paris as an aeronautical engineer and began designing plans for homebuilt airplanes starting with his Tempete, the his MJ5 Sirocco before moving on to his first WW II replica the MJ6 Gnatsum P51 replica. North American Aviation wouldn't allow him to use the Mustang moniker so he reversed the word to Gnatsum. My Dad became his friend when he purchased plans to build a Sirocco which I helped work on from the age of 9. I hope before I eventually die I get another chance to attend the Airshow.
