I saw them live 3 times in 70s in Brisbane Australia. So great. Always opened the concert with The Dawn. In the late 90s they returned to Brisbane at a small venue. Only about 200 people....diehard fans so I was so close to the stage. Oh what memories. There has never been another Osibisa-type band since. Music for Gong Gong.....yay...one of the best.
I have been listening to their songs since I was like 3 years old, some 55 years ago. This particular one was the opening song for NTA childrens program way back in Nigeria in the 1970s...😊 A travesty that Fela Anikulapo, Osibissa, and Manu Dibango are not in musical halls of fame.....
Classic osibisa., everything about the sound so sweet ... the drum all the instruments wow great music . Africa Ghana always had it , thumbs up , afrobeat
What beautiful memories of Osibisa, really a great African rock group from the 70s, this music was played in 1973 in Quito Ecuador on a station called musical radio, greetings and happy New Year's Eve parties to its members.
I miss you Osibisa. I was with you in Switzerland Disco called Black Out. And one of you ask me to come with you to Greece. Please come back. Loving you always. Namaste.
One says the drums...! No, I say the trumpets...! I feel from heart, it is the masterpiece of Osibisa. Love it so much. This one and Jingo Santana. Both hitted the cieling in their era.
Used to go and see them live all the time and they were never, ever disappointing - one of the best live bands you could ever hope to see and this track was always a barnstormer. Absolutely brilliant.
🗣 The beginning of this *Beautiful* melody 🎼 was used as the opening credits in a fun music show on Radio Belgrade in the mid-70s in our country, then called Yugoslavia
THANKS for the upload! Great HAPPY band from Africa, yes they were. Hoping that there are remains somewhere of THIS group, hoping... Way back in Ethiopia, where I heard first this excellent sound, 'nice!
I saw Osibisa a few times, they were tight, and always beautiful , early 70”s there was nothing like them .. Roger Den helped a bit with the album covers.. but for the musically superior it was only windows dressing
Davie, I'm shocked and stunned. You took drugs? Ha ha. As for the music, I pictured your taste to be more mainstream. Nice one. This is ok, but The Dawn was like a mad crossover of Marley & Floyd. Tasty catch
