You sold me on the pack! That last shot where you adjusted the pack while wearing it showed how most of the weight rested on your hip and not on your shoulders. Most ultralight packs don't do this, and most of the weight goes to my shoulders and lower back. This is my next pack that's for sure.
I have this pack and it is very comfortable and versatile. It holds all my gear and room to add more. I don't like that you have to buy the rain cover separate. Overall great pack.
The lid day pack is very functional and a great improvement over the older model. Overall it's an amazing backpack. I highly recommend it. Great review guys!!!
Great review but remember the European version does not have the daypack, only raincover. Good to know and say when your followers are also from Europe. Otherwise a really great review, thank you. Kind regards Andreas from Sweden 🙏👍
Mahn, it's a damn shame that daypack option is not for Europe variant. I got Ariel AG 55 (since my body structure is small and color choice) from Europe and got shipped to India but it is without the daypack convertible top lid. Took it to 5287 meters, was a cakewalk experience with this. Would have been very functional with a daypack. Is there any way to buy it separately? BTW, which hydration pack/reservoir would be compatible with it?
Hi Rabbit, Osprey features a full line of Hydration bladders that work with their bags, take a look at these Osprey Hydraulics Reservoirs, www.enwild.com/osprey-hydraulics-reservoir-2016.html. Thanks for the question.
Man thanks for this video, this is my first real hiking pack and it didn't come with a manual or guide or anything.. didn't even know it had side zippers they're pretty well hidden! Kinda wish I'd gotten the green in your video. My orange is a really dark burn orange. Looks like I ran off with a UT bag.

Both packs have their benefits, but the Atmos certainly has a more ventilated backpannel compared to the Aether. The Aether will carry more weight more comfortably because of the suspension system, so there are trade-offs to both.
Backcountry Edge, Hey and thanks for the reply! I won't carry more than 15kgs and im a person who sweats a lot. I think i would be better with the Atmos then. I like that the Aether have a side zip for internal access, pity there is none on the Atmos. Also is damn shame i cant see this backpacks in person prior to ordering one.
Finally they got the mid-entry. The mid-entry is really of great help for packs above 50lts. And the side entry is much better than the traditional front entry. I have a side-entry system on my Lowe Alpine Arizone and it is very helpful. The side pockets mesh is also a good change. As the ‘netted pockets’ get trapped in the thorns n sticks and get easily damaged The hood getting converted into a day-pack is a very innovative idea. Many pockets, attachment point, hydration compatibility and good sized solid day-pack. The hydration sleeve, getting converted to a day-pack, is not very useful as you cannot put too much weight and it becomes flimsy. Overall, an amazing backpack with lots n lots of features. P.s. the rain cover isn’t included?
Thanks for your comments. A rain cover does not come with the pack but Osprey makes one, you can see it here: www.backcountryedge.com/osprey-ultralight-raincover-2015.html
Hello! Both backpacks are highly recommended. The Sirrus is available in a women's specific version that you can check out here: www.backcountryedge.com/osprey-sirrus-50-women-s-2017.html?.com&WAkel1uMD8 The Aether has about 60 lbs max weight while the Sirrus has a maximum load of 40lbs. The Sirrus is quite a bit smaller, but it is lighter!
Is there any possibility of buying the lid day pack separately here in Europe? I would love that thing for sure... Or is there any other daypack you can attach to the backpack?
Probably not. The frame is going to be too long for most airlines carry-on allowances. You might get lucky, but its unlikely to sneak on as a carry-on, even if low capacity.

Hello, I am thinking about buying osprey atoms 65 or osprey aether 60... please which is better and why, or what are the differences between them ? thank you
Both of these packs are great, but they were designed for slightly different purposes. The Atmos 65 is a much lighter pack with less structure, so it can't handle heavier weights. It's meant for the person who wants a very light, airy backpack that gives a lot of air flow and ventilation. It doesn't have many pockets or access features, so it's a little more minimal. The Aether is a much more robust pack with many more features. You get a much stronger pack, so it can handle weight much better than the Atmos. It also has a more adjustable fit, so almost anyone can get a perfect fit. You'll get more pockets, more features, and better load carrying capacity with the Aether. It comes down to what you want to use the pack for and how much weight you plan to carry. Either one is a great choice.
Hi there! It depends a but on what you plan to carry. The Aether carries up 60 lbs comfortably, whereas the Atmos can carry 50. The mesh on the Atmos also fits more snugly around the body, so that comes down to personal preference!
The frame is not designed to be removable, though it is accessible for warranty/repair purposes only. It would not be recommended to remove the frame unless by an Osprey warranty/repair technician
Dont mind idiots complaining about misreading while they are misreading... I saw a vid where the daypack was mentioned with 15-20l. It also looks like around that.
Same in Australia! We get a rain cover instead. I would prefer the daypack. I wish they gave u the option rather than making the decision for the entire market.
Yeah, no daypack for European countries and i think this is a big mistake made by Osprey. I emailed them and they said that after talking to their athletes and the development team they decided that EU market would be more happy with a rain cover than the convertible daypack. Bullshit!! You can buy a rain cover for 6 euros from ebay or aliexpress but you wont find a daypack for that money. I dont like that they made a difference in the built of the backpack for some regions!! I hope Osprey will read peoples complain from all over the internet about this and change their strategy!!
@@Enwild Cool! Thank you very much ... Im going to travel a several month to Mexico, Peru, I've seen this backpack, but do you recommend another? ... any national brand? . I appreciate! I would like it to also open frontally
The Atmos is lighter in weight and utilizes more AG mesh in the overall construction. This would lead some to crown it the "victor" in the comfort battle but we always stress it's always a personal opinion and is up to each individual user. Thanks.
Luke wears a large torso size in the Aether, but since this video was filmed so long ago, we are not actually sure what size that particular pack was. If you need fit help, call us and talk directly to a Gear Specialist! M-F 9-5: 1-800-617-0643. Good luck!
You mentioned nothing about the main compartment access by lying backpack flat and accessing zippers to the large compartment. It is more than just a top loader!
