Another Osprey pack review - this time the Osprey Archeon 30 backpack in Halebale Green! I wanted a 30-litre daypack for winter hiking, so I can fit bulkier items in the bag.
Tough, durable and filled with big openings, the Osprey Archeon 30 is sustainably made from recycled nylon, and has a retro-styled block colour of green in a nod to the 80's.

Something to add is that the front zipper has a second puller at the bottom that allows you to open it from the bottom up for quick access to the main compartment. They should have incorporated zipper waste belt pockets.

Nice review, Simon! Probably one of the best looking backpacks out there. But unfortunately the hip belts seem to be way too short for a big dude like me.

Thanks! Yes, possibly. Always worth trying on one if you can. The Osprey returns service is pretty good.

Nice video Simon! What is the length of the frame? Website says it’s 26” tall. Just wondering how much shorter it could be if the pack is not completely stuffed. I’m guessing the frame is the limiting factor.

Hi Mark, the side pockets on the Archeon 30 carry a Nalgine bottle comfortably, so I guess they would be around 7 - 8 inches deep.

What length is your torso im a 17.5-18 torso but I have wide shoulders. I was told to get a womens version when I was measured at rei it looks good on you so I was wondering how accurate that was

Simon, don’t confuse dry hay bales with the grass cut to make hay, it’ll be Archeon hay bale green at some point before you see dried grass hay! 😊 ps…great pack, love the Archeon materials.
