Osprey Daylite Sling Review (2 Weeks of Use) 

Thanks for the review. I saw a guy with this sling in the grocery store a few months ago. I was immediately interested and found it at a national outdoor retailer. While I waited for a member discount coupon to arrive I searched around for reviews and yours was very helpful. I have since been using the sling for about 2 weeks and am very happy with it. I wear mine in the front 95% of the time. I can fit a 40 oz hydroflask and a 24 oz Gatorade bottle in the main pocket. I've worn it in stores that won't allow backpacks. Great sling.

Great review, i walk a lot in my town, especially to cafes, and wanted a bag i could carry my tablet, phone, sunscreen, headphones and dog treats. Didn't want a full backpack which would have been an overkill. Today saw a guy in coffee line and voila, this bag checks all the boxes i want except for the high shipping costs at Osprey. I hate slings that hug the chest (women so adjustable strap will be good)

Couple questions for you guys! First, is there a roughly phone sized slot in the main compartment? This bag is ranking pretty high for me and my use case. The outside pocket would be almost exclusively for a pair of work gloves, maybe a rolled up lightweight jacket if it can fit, so the main compartment would be where I'd dump my phone and other pocket-things. It looks like I might need an organizer of some kind to secure my phone, multitool, and flashlight. Second, how elastic is that tablet pocket? Do you think a molle covered plastic insert could fit in there to perhaps use like I mentioned previously, or will it not open enough for that?

The Patagonia sling is much better, it’s tad bigger, and has straps to hold a jacket rolled up on external side.

What size water bottle will it hold?

What do you mean by full size ipad? Like the base ipad? The ipad air? The bigger pro?

Lacking essentials. Must have a carry handle and an exterior keychain hook. Perhaps even a net for 32 oz. of water.

I can't hear "Pack Hacker" and NOT think "Todd Packer".

You can’t compare a backpack and a sling. Very different missions. The Sling is designed to be light and small. You throw it over a shoulder then go out for the day with your wallet, passport, protein bar, and of course your phone.
