cant remember the last time i watched an informative and detailed presentation without constant waffling or bad jokes respect (get a pop filter plss it was killing me)
@@pecanbread11 Idk if it works as a pop filter, but Nvidia Broadcast helped clean my voice up a ton and removed keystrokes/click noises (promise I'm not a bot)
Hello, I have a question if you are trying to do this while in melee set up, if I move to rangers to get manticore and mager next to the pillar to be able to attack them with scythe, in order to get them off tick again, I would need to move from the middle of the pillar, no?
@@outroPS depending on the order of the manticore's attacks yes, moving from the middle of the north side of the NW pillar 2 tiles west (and then south) will let the back npc see you first, and the front one will see you 1t later.
I consistently get a shaman and a ranger spawning on wave 6 on A and B. Then there is a manticore and a ranger north. There really is no easy solution for this, as the shaman and ranger will attack on the same tick and the reinforcements will arrive north, so I can't deal with both the frems and the manticore+ranger north before the reinforcements arrive. I haven't found a solution for this yet. I guess I should stay west of the pillar and offtick the shaman and ranger, but how do I do that? I seem to be the only one getting this setup xD Or else all guides are just spooned runs
You probably figured it out by now, but hopefully this helps someone else at least. If you stand your ground on b they should off tick, just kill shaman asap then when reinforcements spawn, if shaman is coming in first, you can step to A (or west of it) in between ranged attacks to off tick it too. If all else fails and I have a ranger+shaman same ticked, I'll just tank the shaman and try to kill it asap, SGS if possible and tick eat it if needed.
if i'm doing melee only, does any of this off ticking even matter? because i cant reach them with melee, so i'm going to have to pull them to the pillar by running to the north, and once i get back to them, theyre attacking on the same tick again
This guide has made waves 7 to 11 so much easier, thank you! But do you have any tips for waves 5 and 6? The little mager seems to mess up a lot of the rules. I find myself dying quite often in those two waves now with this method, mostly when I get a littlemager and a manticore/ranger on the A+B spawn and then another mage in front with the reinforcement. Sometimes I also get two 3x3 enemies on A+B and then a mager joining in who doesn't get caught on the pillar, almost always kills me.
Awesome video, your channel should have way more subscribers. Great commentary too.. clear, concise and informative. You have a talent for it mate. Keep them coming
you say 1x1 path differently but early waves are easier.. however its pretty universally regarded that 6 can have some of the worst spawns. I personally have no idea how to deal with a bad 6 that includes the 1x1 mager coming at me same ticked, whilst round the corner there's already 2 different style mobs on top
Also looking for a solve for this. You have a ranger and a shaman coming in from south and a manticore and ranger east behind the pillar. How do I correctly offtick the shaman and ranger south? Does it matter which one spawns on A or B or is it always the same method because of their attack ranges differ causing the ranger to attack first?
Was literally trying to figure out how to do this myself because these were the only spawns that were messing me up now, but this guide makes it seem so simple. Defo gonna try it out and hopefully will no longer have to pray for a humble spawn on wave 6/8/10 & 11 :D
Hey man this is the last thing i need to perfect to be able to smash the colosseum. What if its a javelin and a mager after wave 6 that spawns on A and B. Do you just go to tile B as default and start prayflicking? - nevermind you explain it in the description. Thank you for this guide!
Yoooo pecan bread!! I watched your guide on the A/B tiles and learned the rest of the colosseum mostly myself, but I cant imagine even beginning without this strategy!! Thanks so much for finding this and making a video with a great explanation. after camping out in the colosseum for 3 days, I got my first 3 sol kc today. Thank you for the tiles
I'm still struggling t0 cope with catching prayers on the off ticks, especially when manticore is involved. This is the only thing holding me back now, I've been to Sol about 5 times but only if I get lucky on spawns. Any tips to practice this?
I have to say it really works I done wawe 1just for money and flicking fremniks works I started OSRS in 2024 so skill is lacking but I can see with practice and time I can do maybe 🤔
when you have a ranger and manti spawn south east i can kill fremmy, offtick them and start killing BUT EVERY TIME when the mager and meleer come from the north the mager always kills me as im already flicking ranger/manti and it kills me. What can you do in that situation, except hope the meleer comes first and traps it? im using my max dps gear already
nice video, thanks for the invo. how about javelin guy and shockwave spawn? how does that work exactly?which tile you path on and which pray you use first?
11:20 also, if you would stand on tile A and then move to the west. The Minotaur would path around that side of the pillar instead of stacking behind the ranger, making it not heal the manticore. Not sure if you knew. I try to always stand on that line just before the mino spawns. But great tip on the off tick on the south mobs.
That would only be true with red flag on unfortunately - mobs path diagonally and then straight, as opposed to players who path straight and then diagonally. If you have red flag on then the minotaur will path through mobs and would've reached me there. But without it, where it ends up depends on which tile it spawns on. You can see I have 3 red marked tiles around where the reinforcements spawn - these are where the south west tiles of the reinforcements can be. You can see in the video that the minotaur spawns on the furthest east tile, then after it paths diagonally towards me for 3 ticks, it gets caught on the ranger and is forced south. If it spawned on either of the tiles west of that, it would've either met the corner of the ranger directly, or met the north side of the ranger, and in either case it would've come towards me.
this is sick but the next tech we need is how to ensure that the shamans that come in before the minotaur on 10 and 11 also get offticked. if there'd be some sorta method like ok wait till the shaman's true tile touches this true tile and then move out or something it'd be gg for this place
There is a way. You can tank 1 hit from the mage by moving 3 tiles west of “a”. You have to start from behind the pillar so he walks a little bit first. But when done correctly, mage will attack and stop moving and the Minotaur will go past. I have only done this successfully a few times so don’t know the exact details. Hope that helps.
great method but solarflare 3 makes this quite hard to do, is there something we could do to avoid getting hit by the orb? it's usually a run ender for me, can't survive the damage plus overhead turning off while dealing with minions and two bigs
EDIT: I've updated the video description to explain how to deal with this - you basically need to step off tile A/B on the final tick before the orb reaches you, and everything should be fine!
Would this sometimes not work if the manticore at 10:35 in the video had his orbs charged as range-mage-melee rather than mage-range-melee? It sounds like it works 100% of the time, but I'm having trouble wrapping my head around how it would work if the manticore charged up differently.
You just cant camp the other monsters prayer as the first orb from the manti is different. So after the shockwave attacks for instance you would switch to range pray, then flick the manti, after flicking manti, right back to praying mage
Wondering if anyone can help me. Just a minor thing really.. my tic colours don't change per tic, but they change per rotation of 6 tics. E.G. The first 6 tics will all be white then the next set a 6 tics red (for eg) as opposed to the 1st tic being white then the next tic being red. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Hypothetically - You're on Wave 11 and you have Manticore/Mager(or ranger) attacking you on spawn and you manage to kill 1 mob but can't kill the manticore in time (or you have Myopia 3). Is there a way to guarantee the serpent mager that spawns with mino will be off ticked from the manti or on the same tick as the manti's mage hit? i.e. can I stand on a tile or do an action to make sure mager isn't attacking me at same time. I can't gun down mager because Mino will heal it etc?
For the shamans, I'd click to step into view of the shaman the tick before you pray mage against the manticore (step 2 tiles west of A and it should nearly always be able to see you). The shaman will either be blocked by that minotaur or block the minotaur, so try to avoid red flag!
The best part right now is you don't even need to touch the frem archer. It max hits 1 and you can use it to heal off of after dealing with your big mobs.
Great guide, Just wanted to say that there's actually an Issue if the spawn is a Manticore and a 1x1 shaman that adds 2 more scenarios. It looks like if a Shaman spawns on A and Manticore on B, running to A does offset them correctly. However if a Manticore spawns on A and the Shaman on B, it looks like neither A or B work, and you can properly off tick them by standing against the pillar all the way to the south. (Opposite of A).
I mentioned in the video that it doesn't work on waves 1-6, because the 1x1 mager is a different size and has a different range - this is just meant to make the harder waves easier.
Brilliant! I'll have to step in and give it a go. The reinforcements always mess me up, if the mager creeps around the side and isn't off ticked I get messed up BAD :x Any tips on how to deal with that? Just something I need to save brews for?
Yes the way to deal with it is by step to 2 tiles west of A - this will let the mager have line of sight if you about 90% of the time, which gives you a lot of control over it. You want to be comfortable with the flick pattern you're doing prior to it spawning, and be ready to click to step to 2 west of A the tick before you'd pray mage in your cycle. Then you'll path to that tile one tick later, at the same time you pray mage, and then the mager will be attacking in the cycle you were already flicking against
@@pecanbread11 Ohh okay thanks, I didn't think of pathing into the mager to put him in the cycle where I want him instead of just hoping he turns the corner at the right time, thanks!
For anyone struggling with counting ticks: - abuse movement pathing to automatically move 5 ticks after wave start by startig 4-5 ticks worth of movement South of start tile
I was struggling bad with when they spawn in that A & B spot, this has given me a clear framework to solve it instead of running and relying on luck (died 90% of the time before xD)
Any tips on when a Shockwave and a Javelin spawn on the A/B tiles to off tick them? Aside from what you've covered that is usually what has me dying. Thanks!
There may be more spawning conditions, but at the basic level, the extra mager can spawn anywhere (not on the set spawn points). So it can be in view of you on the west side of the NW pillar which does mess things up. That being said, it's still quite unlikely to spawn in view of you, so it might be worth the gamble on later waves
Finally pulled this off for the first time tonight, but also wondering, what are my options for dealing with the Shaman reinforcement on waves 10/11 if I have, let's say, a Javelin and a Manticore offticked? Setting up the A-B offtick is one thing, but if I'm already flicking a jav and manticore, trying to correctly offtick the Shaman with those other 2 mobs AND dodge the javelin aerial attack AND maintain the flicking perfectly sounds absolutely insane tbh. Haven't been able to figure out a solution to this issue yet
It's really quite hard tbh! Generally I try to click to step into view of the shaman the tick before I'd be praying mage against the manticore, then it will be in cycle. The best tile is two west of tile A - the shaman will be able to see you there nearly all of the time. If it's in front of the minotaur it will block it, and if it's behind then you can just go to tile B and the minotaur will block the shaman. With the changes to the modifiers you shouldn't ever need to take red flag, which makes things a little easier!
@@pecanbread11 I suppose that would be the only solution, Ill practice that in the future when i end up with a solve like this. Got a couple completions tonight with the new modifier changes and they seem good! Shouldn't have to reset much anymore. Red flag was always an insta reset for me :')
that part at the end about manticore/(range or mage) spawning on a/b was very helpful, im at 80-90 deaths with 9-10 boss attempts. it would be twice that if i knew that spawn set would offset themselves. now my only issue is dragging them close enough to be killed with myopathy 3 w/tumekans and maintaining that timing so i can pass the dps check before the midwave mager spawns and throws a wrench in everything.
I needed to see this is there any is there any more advice or tips you have I seem to keep getting stuck on wave 6-7 amazing video tho man I think how you explained everything was perfect
Going to A or B will work, the closer one will attack first :) If you mean a ranger and a shaman, you can go to A or B depending on where the ranger spawns - if ranger spawns A, go to B and if ranger spawns B, go to A. Then the shaman will be off ticked with it
This is very helpful. Do you have any advice with how to deal with a shaman reinforcement on waves 10 and 11 if it comes down and is not off-tick with the A/B npcs? Also, how do you deal with solarflare 2/3 when waiting on the "A" tile? These 2 scenarios continue to plank some of my runs, if I can handle these my completion rate would be much higher. Edit: I saw your reply in another comment about dealing with the mage shaman. I'll start trying that. Another thing I forgot is sometimes if 2 shockwave colosssus spawn south with a manticore is there a clean way to solve that scenario?
Solarflare 2 is slow enough that you have enough time to deal with it. For solarflare 3, you need to step off A/B on the last possible tick for it to work. For the shamans, I'd click to step into view of the shaman the tick before you pray mage against the manticore (step 2 tiles west of A and it should nearly always be able to see you). The shaman will either be blocked by that minotaur or block the minotaur, so try to avoid red flag!
im still finding wave 6 difficult, also i notice im getting alot of 3x3 stacks deep sometimes from this, anyone you can post some of your runs? would like to see what youre bringing and how ur handling the different rng stacks and spawns
I may post a full run soon or a vid of several different stacks if that's useful - I'd use that colosseum tool in the video to try out different solves for stacks if you get stuck in the meantime though
I've gotten to the boss 4 times using the B5 tile method but always get fucked by the melee fremmy (no shadow) while trying to deal with those two mobs. This should help a ton, thanks for sharing and explaining well! Do you want to claim a name for this new start tile? Otherwise I'm going to call it Pecan
Awesome guide that really helped me start getting consistent deep wave clears rather than dying on more than half of them. Got my quiver shortly after watching this
Excellent method, but is it still possible to set up the melee blocking the mager with reinforcements, like you can with southwest pillar? What tile should you use?
Two west of tile A can be used to step into view of the mager in the tick you need to so you're flicking it in time with the manticore - the melee will be in front or behind it, if it's behind the mager will block it and if it's in front then it can be safespotted and will block the mager
Is there an easy way to deal with 1x1 magers when using this method? I find pre-wave 7 to be rather hard by using this method, as you often get ranger + mager on you and as I'm using bowfa, I can't really outdps the mager effectively.
This method only really works for the later waves with all 3x3 mobs I'm afraid. If you do happen to get 2 mobs spawning south (like in the video) AND there's a 1x1 mager on you, then before wave 7 there should only be one other monster in the wave, so I'd generally go around the north side of the pillar and deal with that there (or at least figure out what you're going to do next while north of the pillar before reinforcements spawn).
Is it safe to say that if npc spawn directly south of me, that I didn’t do the spawn mechanic right? I got to wave 9 then got sat because 2x manticore spawned to my south and just got banged out in every direction.
I'm struggling to get my visual metronome to flick to red on 3, blue on 4, and green on 5. Is there any way to show your visual metronome settings so I can see what I am inputting wrong? Great video!
I totally might have missed it, but what is the slight optimization of this start tile vs the normal b5? They seem to do similar things. This start tile got me my quiver though, so I’m mostly just curious. Thanks for the guide!
It's the start tile yeah, specifically for when you have to run the extra tile to A. If you started on the old tile your final movement before you reach A would be a 1 tile diagonal walk. So a tick before you reach A, you'd be one west of B. But mobs can see you here so it doesn't work - hence why you need the new start tile - it keeps you out of line of sight of all mobs, even when you have to go to A
You can't go a tile back I'm afraid - this method is extremely tile specific. You do have enough time though to wait on the tiles A and B until the monsters see you. The energy orbs won't reach you unless you have solarflare 3 on. EDIT: I've updated the video description to show how to deal with solarflare 3 - you basically go to the required tile A/B, then step off that tile the tick before the orb reaches you.
@@pecanbread11 Worth noting that solar flare 3 is quick enough for you to run through it if you path from tile A to the right of tile B, but it is monstrously tedious
@@HeWhoPlaysLoL Yes noticed this recently - I've just updated the video description to state how to deal with it - as long as you're praying against the non-manticore mob beforehand, you can step out anywhere west or south and they'll be off-ticked, which hopefully makes things a bit easier!
I didn't cover that at all because I feel that this is the point at which you have to start solving reactively, I don't believe there's a set way to do it (or at least I don't have one yet!) Generally I try to avoid red flag, to make things easier (I've even started taking doom instead recently on wave 10+), then there's a 50:50 chance that the melee is in front of the mage, and blocks it entirely. If the stack on the east side of the pillar is relatively humble, I'll try and step to the south side of the pillar to incorporate them into the flicking pattern I'm already doing, then stay on the south side until the reinforcements spawn and stack up. I don't feel like there's one set answer but there's a couple of options that generally work for me.
If you stand 2 tile away from the north most tile of the west side of the pillar (2 tiles back from the A tile in this video), right before the reinforcements spawn, the mage will see you when it spawns and stand still to attack you. This will allow the Minotaur to walk in front and block the mager once you go back around the pillar to continue killing the A/B spawns while the Minotaur is trapped
