UPDATE: - The Torag's and Dharok's Platebody actually have the same defensive bonuses, so if you already have full Dharok's you don't need Torag's. The only difference between them is that the Torag's Chest currently costs 1/4th the price of Dharok's. - I forgot to mention that the Amulet of the Damned is needed for a Master Clue Stash.. Barrows stuff is pretty good defensively but in general we prefer offensive bonuses, and Dharok's is really the only one that smashes for that. Don't let the degradation cost trick you, using these for profitable content or dharok's for the XP is always a solid investment.

Very minor but the karils coif often sees use outside the set as a budget/low risk ranged head slot. It’s got slightly better defences than a blessed coif without the prayer bonus but for about half the price. It’s not uncommon to see karils coif partnered with black dhide and snake skin boots in the wilderness

They arent as good as the new macuahuitl set, but its a good budget option until you get one, as it tears through eclipse and blue moon

😨 I’m embarrassed at my “encyclopedic” knowledge...shame on it! I completely overlooked the amulet of the damned as a step between a glory/fury and an occult (with full ah set). Might have to go for that on my UIM at some point.

if you get down into the nitty gritty of it guthans is actually more tanky than dharoks not because set bonus but because the helm and the spear give extra defensive stats to make up for the weaker chain skirt

Torag’s with amulet of the damned makes the player INSANELY tanky though. Every missing health adds 1 defence level. So stacking torag’s with amulet of the damned and super defence pot would make for a great Graardor tank

Barrows gear is best as hybrid gear when you dont need or want to bring lots of switches. Dharoks and guthans are great as sets, ahrims robes are useful until ancestrals. Torags legs go with karils top, keep whatever helms you like. When you hybrid, accuracy probay doesnt matter anyways so karils top and torags legs as tank gear provides the benifit of using less food. If you think you need some magic accuracy just wear magic boots, a hat, and bring ahrims top along its that simple. Tbh i dont even think you need ahrims top. Im pretty sure anytime you need magic accuracy, you just go allout mage anyways.

Hey I am new and everyone tells me to get baorws gloves but I opened 500 barows and did not get it. I'm bored of doing barow with ivan staff, any tips?

I will answer this on the off chance it isn't a troll. You get Barrows Gloves from the quest "Recipe for Disaster" it isn't a drop from actually completing Barrrows.

The reason people use Ahrim’s staff for PKing is because it can autocast ancients, has decent attack bonus, and is cheap

The biggest use case for Torag Platebody is how cheap it is. There is almost zero reason to use rune platebody if you have the stat for Torag. Having Torag makes it way easier to farm out upgrades.

more often than not you're bettrr off spending 3-4 hours at BA for torso, but yeah the Torag plate undeniably has some nice defensive bonuses for its price

Dharoks and torags have the same defensive bonuses so even for tanking torags is useless because at least dharoks has the double purpose of being useful in nightmare zone / mole.

This is true, I should have brought it up. I tend to recommend Torag's Platebody over Dharok's because it's 1/4th the cost, but for someone with even an average bank it doesn't matter too much. I'll add this to the pinned comment, it's a good point.
