Everytime my discord and I talk about guides, I always say/recommend your guides. They are always vocally clear and easy to understand with a good depth of detail.
Out of all the DT2 bosses, i struggled with this one the most. Took me 11 tries with 9 of them being deaths on the enrage phase before finding this guide. Gotta say, always love your guides. Like others have said, they are clear and concise and dont require over the top gear to go through the fights. Thank you.
11 is rookie numbers bro i can't even keep track of how many times ive failed this boss, dude I can't learn to use hotkeys and this boss at the same time... I want to see someone do this boss without hotkeys.
incredible guide - everything needed, one video. I just don't like how Tumaken's is an essential at this boss, because without it your kill times are going to range from 3:30-4:30, with 99 magic, full ancestral, saturated heart, accursed sceptre, with trident. The boss fight itself is not very difficult, it just takes forever to get a kill
Thanks dawg! That tends to be the case with BIS gear compared to lower tier weapons to be fair. BIS is much faster. I did do the 'hour of' video with budget gear and still got 13 kills. It's definitely slower, but still very grindable without the Shadow
Shadow is not a very balanced weapon. Now content gets balanced around the shadow's power level, so the rest of the options get left in the dust. At least with tbow the alternatives (bowfa, old BP back in the day) were still worse but competitive. Shadow is way too much stronger than the next best magic weapon.
@@Zxv975 Harmonized Nightmare Staff, Sanguinesti Staff, and even Trident of the swamp are still very viable magic weapons though. They haven't been nerfed or anything just because there's a new stronger weapon, and they can still all be used at any end game content. I don't see how the Shadow being really good is a problem. New Mega rare raids weapon, it should be strong AF.
@@TheEdB0ys the shadow should be strong, but the gap between the shadow and the next viable options shouldn't be so large. Essentially, I'm saying the other options should be buffed, not that the shadow deserves to be nerfed. The reason why this is a problem is exactly what you see at this boss and content going forward. Have you ever done Akkha with a trident? I got my 500 kit before my shadow and Akkha was the most miserable part by far. My mate spent hours upon hours of attempts of Muspah CAs trying to clear it in max minus shadow. Point is that when new content gets released and shadow is heads and shoulders above everything else, the new content is balanced around the shadow's power level. This means that everything that isn't a shadow is comparatively worse. Another way to think about it would be that if shadow didn't exist, then Muspah, Akkha and Whisperer would have lower magic def and HP in order for those fights to feel better to complete with a sang. The mere existence of a shadow in the game meant those bosses had to have higher stats to not be mincemeat for the shadow, but this ends up being to the point where non-shadows largely feel unviable. I've talked to a lot of my mates who would like to do Whisp because they enjoy the mechanics, but just don't feel it's worth it long term with a trident.
@@TheEdB0ys I think the issue is the Shadow is just a giga powerful charged staff. It doesn't have any limitation or niche. The closest is being 5 tick so it requires a different strategy for solo olm, but other than that it blows everything out of the water everywhere. Bowfa for example is BIS against normal leviathan because of its low-ish magic level, and both fang and soulreaper axe are better than scythe against Vardorvis because of Vardorvis's size and unique defense mechanics. Even the Duke where Scythe is BIS it's not massively ahead of alternatives because of the Duke's very high defense which is a weakness of the scythe. But for Whisperer there's no contest, shadow blows trident away. The DT2 bosses just highlight how easily the other mega rares can be balanced to be weaker or stronger with a variety of factors, but shadow is unconditionally gigastrong. It's easily the best weapon in the game now IMO, blows tbow out of the water, bowfa + shadow is a much better rebuild option than tbow + any kind of mage setup and it's been years since scythe rebuild was a thing anyone considered doing.
When I did the quest boss, I used rune thrown axes to hit multiple of the ghosts phase. It worked awesome. I don’t know if that’s good on the normal version though
when killing the ghosts with venator bow do you have to be in shadow realm to damage them or because i know its going to kill them all do I not even have to click the fragment
This boss took me like 12 - 14 attempts. I didn’t get to the enrage phase till the last attempt when I actually beat it, either the enrage phase is easier or I just got lucky lol

Camping Ancients = Using only Ancient Magiks. So if you're bring blood/ice spells, they're good for healing/freezing, but they're too expensive and slow to use as your primary spell. Using Blood or Ice spells the entire kill, isn't very efficient.
Would it make sense to use blood barrage @ enraged phase? I seem to keep dying at the very last seconds, but the parts before that I literally do perfect plays every time… I’m not sure if blood barrage does the same dmg as my sang staff?
Blood Barrage could help with healing, but overall it will likely make the enraged phase harder for you. If you autocast from the spell book, there's a 1 tick delay before the attack comes out. So you'll want to manually cast the spell, which takes an extra click on the spell book. Plus blood spells have a 5 tick delay, which is more difficult to deal with since the Whisperer is attacking at a 4 tick pace. You're better off just getting more practice with your powered staff, and learning to avoid damage, rather than trying to out heal the damage
I have around 115m extra to spend. I have the elite void with the void mage helm, Sanguinesti staff, torm bracelet, lightbearer, imbued mage cape, Elidinis' ward and rada's blessing. Should I upgrade the elite void to Virtus, or spend the around 97m on the saturated heart?
Saturated Heart. It's some if the best mage DPS you can add. Usually the mage levels you get from it is a few Max hits, which is definitely more than Virtus will give you
The full example kill shows how to use the Venator bow, in which case you don't need to target the ghosts based on what they're saying. In the section of the guide that I discuss how the special attack works, you can see examples of me using the blowpipe, and only targeting the Vitas ghosts
I don't, but that's because I've only marked the 1 tile that the boss spawns on. So you could just shift-right click that tile before starting the fight, and mark it
I wish you showed us how to get to the boss without ring of shadows teleport. You just said north west, while running north east to the bank. Good guide, but now I'm pulling up aother because I'm in Camdozal and idk where to go.
After 10-15 kills I started forgetting the Insanity mechanic even exists. It's hardly a "gimmick". It's just a mechanic that punishes you for making mistakes (which is something you should expect from high level bosses). If it's frustrating you this much, then you should fight a different boss. Blaming the game is never going to help you
thes fghts have gotten too long and completcaited on this game, its not like i have keys to switch 100 diferent things like normal games t too hard clicking everythuing i need to cahnge out fits and prayer snd spell in 1 seconds its just crazy. iv played for like 15+ years this game is becoming just a hassle nothing but work, it suppose to be fun not a challenge so hard it defeats having fun. like maxed gear the bosses are just so much clicking its not fun
@schmakyle649 mfer I'm 30 years old and run a couple multi million dollar companies. I'm not a kid like you anymore living in moms basement. I have a life. Doing the same thing over and over slaving away is not fun. I got all my 99s maxed legit. This is why the games dead af. Logged on there nobody even in world 2 trading its dead. I can't even sell some my items because there over maxed cash and nobody in forums lol.
@schmakyle649 I want to press keys like a reql games does ya know? To switch weapons, armor, prayers. Not click my mouse 15 times in 2 seconds thatz dumb af an makes 0 sense. This is the only game that does this crap. Maybe that's why it's dead. I beat all my games on legendary, hard whatever. Runescape has just become dumb...maybe I'll sell my account it's worth probably 4 or 5k$ has over 10bil maxed out.
