The lyrics of the "Ostpreußisches Reiterlied" (East Prussian Rider's Song) were written by the teacher and writer Getrud Papendick. She was probably inspired to write it in 1925 on the occasion of the first East Prussian Riders' Day. The song, which is sung to the tune of "Prinz Eugen, der edle Ritter" (Prince Eugene, the noble knight), achieved great popularity and was still sung by East Prussian refugees long after the Second World War.

In the thumbnail, the Reiter Regiment of the Reichswehr can be seen.
Most of the footage shows a drag hunt near the main stud Trakehnen (e.g. visible at 02:02), which was located northwest of the town of the same name in the district of Stallupönen. In the remaining scenes you can see East Prussian stud farms whose names are unknown to me. Most of the horses in the video are, of course, East Prussian Trakehners. I am not sure about the breed of dog used in the hunt, but it could be German Bracken or Foxhounds.
