Focus that pisslow K/D Jett by trying VALORANT Tracker: links.overwolf.com/trn-kariyu food for thought: -McOsu / FPOsu is interesting and demonstrates your learned aim skills from FPS games but of course pales in comparison to aim trainers because stuff like target size + the circles are predictable because they follow a certain mapping movement and rhythm. -osu is a decent way to build comfort with a mouse, it worked for me too (8:00) I don't deny it can help someone get comfortable using a mouse, but people that play osu FOR its "aim training properties" I feel are misguided -a lot of top osu players are high rank in other games because they are naturally talented at gaming, not because they're really good at osu. But I think if someone wanted to seriously create a study between mouse top players vs tablet top players and their FPS ranks, it could be interesting :>

One thing about Osu!, is that it can voluntarily help with tracking. Not because of the sliders or anything, but because of processing speed. One of the main components of being good at tracking, is being able to process movements. And the faster you can do that, the more accurate your tracking will be. I've also noticed that, ever since I've started being able to read AR 11, I've had better tracking in other fps shooters. Even while playing Kbm less than before, and not aim tracking as much. I typed this entire thing out, and no joke 2 seconds later, he basically said exactly what i said.

@@SoloGoCrazy It does though, I played Aimlabs while it was in beta, I played osu a ton, tried Aimlabs again not that long ago, and my scores were way better. All of that being said, I think aim trainers in general aren't that great because most of your aim in games is crosshair placement and movement, which changes depending on the game. This is why a lot of Valorant pros came from CSGO, because the movement and gunplay is very similar. Your raw aim does improve though, as your aim will be more linear and snappy. Raw aim doesn't improve the things that matter most though like crosshair placement, movement, gunplay, map knowledge, how to use abilities/nades, player prediction, decision making, etc. You could have the best aim in the world, but if your crosshair placement sucks then it doesn't mean shit.

I think the reaction time part is only partly true, five years ago I was averaging 220-240 ms on the human benchmark test, but after playing osu for a decent amount of time I can comfortably get 180 average while still using the same monitor. fposu spotted!! The part on reaction time & processing time is definitely very important to someone who wants to improve their aim. As someone who averages 130ms reaction time on human benchmark, and has decent scores on aim trainers, I find that my reaction time in-game (time to start movement on stimuli) is extremely slow on games that I generally don't play as often. (~250-300ms in Valorant) People that want to improve aim should not neglect play time in their game of choice, especially on games with lower TTK where reaction & processing time is the majority of the time it takes to kill a target on screen.

I think that osu doesn't improve your aim skill but, it improves one part of it, the "eye-hand corelation". That means that osu trains you to see one point anywhere on your screen and from your current mouse position get there with a smoth movement and not a shaky one. So osu doesnt improve your aim, it improves one category of it. Aiming is an trainable skill, it isn't a muscle memory ability at all, it's a skill, that's why programs like raw accel works, cause aiming is not muscle memory. In youtube are one video about that, it is a little bit long but is so useful to understand what is aiming, the name is The SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN Way to achieve AIM MASTERY

Osu will never replace proper aim training, but it CAN be great for working on mouse control, rhythm in your shooting (like CS or Val for taps or sprays being accurate), and relaxing your own body to not overshoot or have poor lines with your mouse. Underrated thing osu players do well is being relaxed while playing to get smooth transitions and accuracy with your mouse hand/arm Again, it will NEVER replace aim trainers, but it still can benefit your mouse control since you yourself are making those movements with your body, even if it doesn't translate 1 to 1 to FPS

Osu does make your aim better if your aim is bad. Osu improves your mouse control (depending on DPI) and helps you find the grip that feels best to you. Though if you are already good at aiming, or you play high sens in smth like valorant and have low DPI in osu then you won't really have any use case for osu.

I think that osu!, while definitely not a direct contributor to improving 3d and fps aim and with actual aim trainers and gameplay (of the game you're trying to improve at) are the most obvious and best ways to actually get better at aiming, can help give you some pretty major insight on your own mouse/cursor control and a lot of the pitfalls (underaiming, overaiming, aim desync, etc.) that are common to fall into when aiming; similarly, although being able to reading higher/lower ar in osu! doesn't really assist with raw reaction speed and the "processing speed" is only secondary to the kind you develop in the actual shooter game you want to improve in, the kind of vision you use when reading circles could be a contributing component to strong aim-click sync and be more aware of and build better muscle memory for the aforementioned "aiming pitfalls". While I definitely don't think osu! is an "aim trainer", I think it can have quite a few side-benefits on your aim journey if played with intent and, of course, if you enjoy playing osu!.

I personally started playing !osu a lot recently. Basically, I have to disagree mostly. After I played !osu more, I realized my reaction time was definitely better, my tracking was better and my aim was just smoother. It also helps with warming up for me. However, my crosshair placement got a little wonky, but that might be because I played more !osu than for example VALORANT. I personally feel like, on higher levels it definitely won't help a lot except for maybe warming up. However, when you're not an aim god, it might help you. It also probably depends on the person you're asking, at least for me it helped a lot.

Osu actually improved my "aim". Before playing osu, I absolutely sucked at fps games. Now, I'm somewhat alright at them. In low clutter fps games like csgo and valo, I still cant hit since my reaction time hasnt improved, and I am actually slightly worse because of bad habits that result from playing osu. I now cursor dance my way to enemies heads and target them in the order they appear instead of distance from cursor. But for cluttered games, like apex or the finals, I am kinda above average, despite being a 6 digit osu player

@gus9351
@gus9351 7 месяцев назад
You overestimate the influence of mouse control to aiming, it's all about how our brain processes the stimuli. No doubt it will indirectly allow you to improve faster because you're training your physical side but that's not what makes someone a good aimer, of course you need good mouse control for good aim, but you don't need to have an f1 racecar when you can't even drive yet, at the end of the day, actual aim teainers in will give you the same benefits but even better
@seanscott1308
@seanscott1308 7 месяцев назад
@@gus9351 Mouse control is our brain being better at processing stimuli. The raw strength of your arm and hands is not important, however the brains ability to efficiently call and use those muscles with tight precision is very important. The only thing left is adapting to how your mouse movement translates to screen movement. On that point, players can adapt to new mouse sensitivities, or even to dynamic mouse sensitivities which change based on velocity rather quickly. Exponentially faster than training aim from nothing. 2d osu! aim is certainly a step further. I agree that a kovaaks is certainly better. But I don't think I'm overestimating anything. imo the real problem with osu! Is that the mouse movements are so dissimilar to most fps games, so you only tangentially build the neuromuscular connections relevant to say the precise tight aim in cs:go or valorant. Still, it certainly helps aim
@gus9351
@gus9351 7 месяцев назад
@@seanscott1308 That part about adapting mouse movement to screen movement makes it feel like that part is easy, but in reality that's most of what aiming is and is VERY very hard and is what most of what you're aim training for, it isn't as simple as just having good muscle control, your brain still needs associate the movement to the stimuli which is in no way easy, it's the hard part about aiming. It feels like you're just leaving that part out when you play osu instead of well you know, actually playing an fps based game to improve both mouse control and your actual aim, there really is no benefit except if you just enjoy osu better, which is at the end of the day all that matters
@seanscott1308
@seanscott1308 7 месяцев назад
@@gus9351 We agree on the latter part. Of course an aim trainer is better and I'm not sure why you keep arguing that point, or giving me weird motives. If you're gonna respond, can you clarify what you actually disagree with? Cause some of your response is to a straw man or something What convinces me of my original comment, is there are multiple cases of people switching to dynamic sensitivities, which translate mouse movement to screen movement vastly differently than linear sensitivities, and getting back to 5000 hours of skill in a few dozen hours of adaptation. Just google dynamic sensitivity. I know pinguefy has a good vid on it. That adaptation speed indicates if someone has really strong neuromuscular control of a mouse, that translates to many different kinds of screen movement given an adaptation period. (Maybe with only some % efficiency.). I'm not 100% confident, but from what I've seen I think my position is better supported Edit: my original comment says "you can 100% translate". To clarify, I meant "it is certainly the case you can translate skill in one to the other", not "you can translate 100% of the skill". I do think the raw aim component is significantly transferable, not 100%
@gus9351
@gus9351 7 месяцев назад
@@seanscott1308 To start, I disagree that dynamic sensitivity is comparable to osu, being able to play with dynamic sensitivity requires other fundamental fps aim skillsets that you won't improve in osu, and from a perspective of let's say - an average player, they won't necessarily reach high levels of neuromuscular control over their mouse by just playing osu casually, I feel like you'd have to at least be 4 digit skill level in osu for it to have a huge effect. It's not necessarily that I disagree with your main point, I just wanted to emphasize that osu for the sake of aim training is very inefficient because while what you say is true, it might give people the wrong idea that osu will work as a way to improve aim, when in reality, it is gonna take so much more time and effort because you'll have to get good at the other aspects of osu too in order to be able to progressively play harder and more aim demanding maps
@refy.
@refy. 7 месяцев назад
Aim is 90% brain, 10% muscles, you can train aim on osu, the thing is that fps have recoil control which is another thing to train specifically on, and so, an osu player tend to be godlike on games like redmatch 2, but for csgo valorant and apex, he won't be good that much, also as rythia proved it, 2d translate well on "spin aim" 3d. So you can even train VR fps to improve aim, but you will still need to learn recoil and muscles memory for mouse aiming. One exemple, you can be a tablet player that switched to tablet when you were playing 3*, you play tablet until 7*, and then come back with mouse, your mouse gamplay will be close to 6* even hitting stream aim patterns or flow aim as well as sharp aim for jumps.

That's a good video tbh and I agree with it altough I also agree to disagree. As much as I definately agree with osu not being an actual aim trainer that helps with aiming and reaction time in a big manner. I have to say that I also think it does, just that on a bit different level and perhaps a more basic one. Since afterall osu requiers aim and thus might simply help your brain to process and adapt to an idea of hitting a certain point on your screen which also applies to fps games, just that this skill in pfs games is 3dimentional but still hitting a certain point which is more advanced, but the most basic part of it which is moving your cursor to a certain point as quickly as possible is present in both games. As for me, a 6 digit in osu and a Gold 3 in CSGO I actually find it usefull to play a bit of osu before going to csgo. Since I'm bad at both games and my aim is not on a pro level, this very very basic aspect of it actually seems to help, and if not that it's at least a warm up for brain and fingers.

I think what it generally helps is hand eye coordination

it doesnt improve aim it improves eye/hand coordination and target eye tracking. valorant isnt a tracking heavy game where you constantly need to move your vision to keep up with a target like apex therefore valorant isnt a good choice for this test. but you can 100% modify your osu playstyle to benefit your valorant gameplay like faster maps that have little time for you to move and click the notes to train your reaction time.

Half of the points here can be contradicted by saying that whether the game has depth or not doesnt matter because all that is gonna vhange is the size of the target cuz you are still looking at a 2D screen. And as for hoe the mouse isnt at the center, if the distamce between the mouse and the circle is the same as the distance between the crosshair and the head then muscle memory will do the job for you it mught affect you eyes but jot your muscle memory so i eill day ir does improve aim. As for Reaction speed, it can be improved by challenging it over and over again which is what Osu is you have to find the next target asap and the more you do it the more you will get accustomed to it. Theres people that have trouble clicking the target in an fos once they appear in front of them, they realize the target is there but cant click it. But doing that action over and over again helps get rid of the unnecessary steps and the hesitation and improve the overall reaction time. It cannot take tou past your Natural limits however so talent still does matter.

osu actually will make your aim better, at a aim part called click timing and target acquisition

Mr Kariyu do you have any major tips on fixing aim issues? specifically for osu

osu! is an aim trainer, but a timing aim trainer. It helps with tracking, reaction time and muscle memory. Does not improve accuracy, that's true, because we play FPS in 3D looking space and osu is in 2D. tip: play it with left click only

It should work as you are getting better at mouse control. Even tho sens is different the ability to control your mouse should help with different sens.
