About to have my third interview in a few hours and I've watched your videos before each of them so far! Great refreshers and helped me do really well up to this point! Thank you!
One moment (besides the other reasons for wanting to be an OT) that helped me solidify my goal of becoming an OT was when I entered a conference room for an informational session and I immediately could figure out which groups of students were interested in OT. Not saying that all OTs are similar in this sense but our presence gives off a warm and welcoming vibe. It was such an interesting feeling. The same feeling you get when you rewatch the Harry Potter series...I felt as though I was home ^.^
That was beautiful! Totally feel you that a lot of OTs give off a warm vibe. It's definitely one of the reasons I'm proud to be a part of this profession :)
I'm taking massage therapy. I graduate in November 2023. I want to advance my education. I want to put one base on the demand for jobs. Whichever one will have more jobs available. I'm into natural health, yoga and exercise. Which one would you think would be better for someone like ? I also don't want to do a lot of schooling
Thanks for this video! You're going to make an awesome therapist. I'm choosing between applying to OT & PT school...I know that I want to be a pelvic floor therapist, and you can do it with either background. Do you have any input on that?
Thanks Hannah! :) The best advice I can give you is to do some shadowing hours and see both professions in action for yourself! They're both awesome professions and you'll be fulfilled with either one. The main difference is that PT focuses more on strengthening while OT focuses more on function! And though we focus on different things our sessions/exercises and activities often look pretty similar so you just have to see it for yourself and figure out which matches you more :)
I feel like I need to show my family members this video when after I tell them I want to be an OT a million times but they think PT is the same as OT. lol
