OTBP VIC/SA Border 2023 - Issues just getting to the start

This the trip video about the trip to the trip. 12V issues raise their ugly head just a couple of hours into this trip and it's up to me with some advice from my autoelec to install a DIY budget sub $300 dual battery solution to get me out of trouble.

Thx mate this was a pretty epic trip, bit of everything, and not everything goes to plan. Was ambitious to tackle the entire border and we had a lot of fun doing it.

Thx Chad. Yeah well like to keep it real. I could not believe I had 12v issues at the start of this trip. Was surprised how easy it was to solve though. You don't hear much about the cheap battery isolaters as an option anymore.

Hi mate,Steve from QLD.I like your vids, it's real.Just a nice suggestion for U. Grab a folder with water proof sleeves & a hand full of Hema paper maps of your local area, & look for a pocket Compass.Go for an easy trip down afew tracks that U already know & have abit of fun with navigation for a weekend.Good idea to always get some advice on 12volt. Good idea not too ZAP your rig.All the best.

Thanks Steve. Glad you're enjoying the videos we put out. Yeah was fortunate I was able to get my auto elec on the phone to assist with solving the dual battery issue.

Thx mate, Yeah was getting pretty soft down there and getting dark, didn't really want to have to call the guys for help on a trip I organised before it officially even starts.... :-)

@@OffTheBeatenPathAus had the same issues in my last trip up to Gibbo and Pinnibar. 5 day trip, all my Agm’s shit themselves, only had the fridges running while the troopy was running. Grabbed 2x Itech 120X Pro lithium batteries. One for under the bonnet, actually rated for that, (only ones on the market at the moment I think) and I’ll throw one in the back. These will replace the 3 agms i have at the moment.

Yeah sometimes they do, other times they get me in trouble but still can't resist the urge if it looks shorter, check it out.... :-)

lol yeah, after all my 12v issues with the Paj could not believe this trip it started immediately. Especially after I'd asked my Autoelec about swapping out the piranah but it they thought it was working.... Patch collection is under way!
