Love your videos. Especially this one. I watched it yesterday morning and happened to be going to a huge charity garage sale last night. Ran across a pair of Zimmerman shorts new with tags. They had them for $10. Grabbed them quick! I would not have known about that brand without this video! So thank you for all of the knowledge you are sharing!
Thanks for sharing another amazing haul with a variety of samples. 😊 Since you asked, vintage and style based are the areas that are most helpful to me. ❤
Thank you for you videos!! Your videos have changed my way of sourcing. It has made sourcing more enjoyable. I have found label BOLOs looking for style based items. I can go late to yard sales or the bins and still find great things others left behind.
I remember when Banana Republic opened. I was a kid. the entire store was decorated like being on a safari in Africa! There was hay, an olive green jeep, etc. etc. It was very cool. And they had t-shirts with different safari animals on them. So fun! And so amazing what you find at the bins in CA. The ones here are pretty much junk or damaged things that you wish were in great condition! I stopped going, but it's ok because I pay up for great pieces at the regular thrift stores.
I remember when stores actually used to do themes and really go all out! Also, I totally hear you on that! We’ve been to around 25ish bins across the country in different states and cities and the experience can definitely vary, but there are always some goodies to find for sure. So glad you’re finding great things at your stores!
I would love to see more men's bolos as I sell mainly men's clothing. That being said I am slowly adding in women's based on what you are teaching us here about style aesthetics and such! Thanks for all of the great info. Love to see you and Sean working together harmoniously in your business that is rare.
Aw you’re so welcome! I’ll definitely try and put some more men’s pieces on our hauls - it depends on what day we record what pieces I have left throughout the week but I’ll put it in the front of my mind for sure. And there are a lot of growing pains to be with a partner both in business and life, but it works itself out with some effort overtime :)
I would love to see your work place/warehouse or whatever it is, and how you process your orders or just how you organize all your beautiful finds. Thank you!
" We Buy what Sells" could be your tag line 🤣 I mostly pick up style based items, but I stepped out of my comfort zone today and bought some style-based items I typically don't pick up! COGS $1 so I figured I could afford the experiment 🤣
LOVE all of your videos, Bethany! I have learned soooo much about style aesthetic/keywords. Yay! I joined reseller mentorship the other day and will be diving in soon - cannot wait! If you could do some more style based hauls/sourcing AND vintage, I would love it! I admired (and wore) a lot of cool styles back in the 80s and 90s and I have been picking them up for years. I do not find that they sell super fast though so am wondering if I could rework the titles/description, it would help?! Some vintage videos would be great!
Hi! Thanks for your comment :) I’ll definitely keep putting out haul videos here, and now that you’re a part of REU you’ll have access to hundreds of hours of deep dives we’ve done on vtg, y2k, styles and BOLOs based on brand and style!! On Kajabi we have those in the previous call section and we have hundreds of examples throughout those videos too :)
@@TrashPandasThrift oh yay! I have been so busy , I haven't had a chance to look over the site thoroughly. I look forward to checking out all of the videos! :) Maureen
I do need to get more kids stuff. I grab a little Abercrombie now and then but I need to kick it up a notch. So when you're at the bins what percentage of stuff that you pick up is in the new bins? Like do you wait in the lines for the new rotations? ( If it's run that way at your bins)
Kids stuff is great for sure! And I can’t give a percentage honestly - we go through all new rotations but we go VERY slow, so by the time we’re done with 1-2 bins every other bin has already been “looked through” and we still find amazing pieces!
I pick up banana republic too, and can usually find it cheap. Can you believe our local thrift shop was trying to sell a pair of BR tweed pants for $75!? I almost died.
I feel like I’ve seen OSKA before, so for fun I googled comps. It’s looking like overall it’s got roughly a 35% sell through rate which surprised me. So, would you say that sell through is one of your top priorities? You really emphasize style and keywords more so than sell through in videos.
I found a Carhartt jacket here at a local thrift last week, it is not vintage, as I know those can sell for a lot higher, but if I use the keywords barn and chore, could I possibly list it a bit higher since I have those keywords in place?
Hi there! It’ll highly depend on the piece for sure - if it’s appropriate for the item, I’d certainly use those keywords and that will definitely add value either in the price, how quickly the item will move, or oftentimes both!
