Thank you Emily In the paid version, you can go into Settings, SetUp, Manage Vocabulary, to add Specifc Vocabulary so Otter can learn it faster. This is really useful for industry specific words and phrases, or church :)
I am a speech therapist..you rock! I’m looking for a voice recording where I can save the audio but take my own notes. I assess my students so I need to record them and take my notes regarding error patterns or strategies they are using. I’m worried the AI will transcription will be way off for my students.

My deaf friend told me about this app. I tried to use it at work once when three people were talking at the same time. It was super slow and didn’t really captions what was being said. Since that one time I haven’t tried to use the app again. I also have Ava on my phone but I don’t have anyone to use it with. Another deaf friend told me about app called BIG. I downloaded it, but haven’t used it.
Emily, Thank you great video! Also, if you pay for the yearly membership $99.00 per year, you can add in your church vocabulary and it will get it right moving forward. It's super easy to add the vocabulary that gets missed! We had great success adding in our unique church vocabulary.
I'm going to try this out! I typically use Live Transcribe, but since I'm now on iPhone primarily I haven't been able to get it. Love this! Thanks for the suggestion!
Hey Emily. Thanks for the information. I was wondering if you have a video or are planning on making a video about tools one could use as an adult student with hearing loss? Such as apps and computer programs that could be used in a traditional college classroom or an online college classroom. Other than Otter of course. Obviously that one is going on the list! Are there any other tools you found helpful in school as a student with hearing loss? Thanks so much!
Ooh! Great recommendation! Thank you for the idea! FYI I'm scheduling videos out (got to catch up) so it might be a while. Here's a few tips since I know "Back to School" season is here. In school I used the accessibility services, the note takers, and getting copies of professor presentations. I also used transcription apps (Otter.ai, and AVA), and Google dictation notes via Google Docs. ALSO, try to make friends in each class. Get their numbers and text them when you need help. :)
Yes I used Otter when I was going in for my surgery. I didn’t think about it for today I wonder if that would have helped during lunch. It was easy to use. I just don’t think about using it. Good video and great tips.
Ah, try it out next time if you think to. I'd love to hear what you think. Every situation is different and Otter.ai works better in some situations compared to others.
Good question. I would Google this specific problems but off of the top of my head > Settings > Sound and captions > Off. I think this is only an option for the host, though.
I don't upload audio files to transcribe, I don't know if you can do that. I just hit record when I want to transcribe. (So play the file on your computer and transcribe via your phone Otter.ai app if you have two devices.)
Hi, I would like to hear from you if the app can transcribe other languages or any other apps that can do this job? For instance; Arabic, Turkish and Kurdish is Necessary for me.
This is completely wrong! Audio doesn't work correctly. Once you important it doesn't update audio. And as you correct it. It skips so around so bad you can't complete your work. You'll get so upset.... I have been waiting for update and they are so slow on update their software. NOW! If you want to send it to convert to txt, pdf or doc. You have to have the program to be able to do it. Try the free version i promise you you'll say this person was right! Don't pay for something that doesn't work in trial that means it's bull!!!!
