I really like the reverse MagSafe charging feature. I hate having cords all over the desk. I also like the stand on the Anchor one. But if I was to spend 60 bucks for a power bank I’m gonna have to go with the OtterBox one. Keep making awesome videos.

Tee...you and the algorithm are heroes today. Knew Otterbox had to do something to differentiate their MagSafe bank from everyone. That said, I just realized what Apple was trying to do: their battery fits ALL their iPhone models. With the official MagSafe power bank, no one with a Mini-Promax gets alienated. It's a concession, but its works. Genius.

Definitely Anker MagGo because of the stand. The wireless charging on the Otterbox is more like a gimmick to me. I just hope the next third party magsafe battery pack will have the same function as the Apple Battery Pack where it can limit the charging at 90%. That will be game changing!!

@@hendrapratama5283 It only get hot on the bottom near the charging port. I suspect that's where the circuit board it. Other than that, its working fine.

The 13 pro Max has a 16.75Wh battery. The OtterBox has an 18.5Wh (5000m * 3.7). Wireless charging is about 70% efficient. 18.5*0.70=12.95Wh delivered to the iPhone, which is 77% of its capacity. That stacks up with the claim in the video.

The only thing that sold me on the Apple MagSafe Pack was the software integration and the Apple pack doesn't get warm like the others..The Otterbox has definitely grabbed my attention...

I have the Anker 622 in White; I love it. The wireless charging feature on the OtterBox is super enticing, but I think I would still prefer the Anker. I love it for power and especially the functionality of the stand.

I am so excited for this video because I am trying to decide which MagSafe battery pack I want to get. Anker is the one I was leaning towards but I have the Otterbox MagSafe Stardust and I kinda am thinking of sticking with Otterbox. Not that I need to, but now I’ll have a real idea about the Otterbox version. Yes! When I saw online that there was dual charging with no cords, I was like OMG that’s awesome! I’m glad you brought it up so I could see it in “real time”. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you as well! Yeah some people are calling the MagSafe charging a gimmick but to me it works perfect not having to use any cords. Can’t go wrong with either the Otterbox or Anker though.

Amazon has this battery for $37 right now. Only downside is you may have to wait until late June. Plus the one thing I do not like about this battery is that it does not have a rubber backing to help with grip. It’s just plastic like the front. Not the best strength with a hard clear case. Other than that I’d say best battery on the market due to the charging the battery via magsafe.

Yeah that’s the downfall depending on what material your case if if you’re using one. If it’s just on the phone then yeah it’s going to live around a quite bit.

My man! Thank you so much for this review. This is the first Mag safe portable charger that I've seen that can actually be charged wirelessly itself! That was the biggest reason why I was holding off. Time to buy! Question for you, can it also be charged back up with a standard Qi charger? My car has Qi shelf built in, it would be great to throw this on that!

I love the MagSafe charging feature but do have to mention how power inefficient it is so the environmental friendliness part of me would never let me use that feature unless I can’t find a cable. I just got over feeling bad about using MagSafe rather than the wired on my phone. The convenience won me over. Don’t see too much of a convenience factor here other than the door have to find a wire

Lol! I’m sure the 1.3kWh per year of power wasted by the inefficiency of wireless charging isn’t going to help much, but yeh, I guess every little helps. To put it in context, a week of wireless charging wastes as much energy as it takes to make a single cup of coffee.

What a clutch review! I was just looking at magsafe batteries and was disappointed that the Anker and apple battery packs do not charge via magsafe. Like you, I'm all about magsafe charging (sure, it's not as fast or efficient but it is so convenient). My desk has a clean setup to charge my Apple watch and phone so don't want to add a cable or have to charge the battery pack in my charging area next to my desk. For me, being able to charge the battery pack with magsafe totally outweighs the stand on the Anker. Quick question: does the OtterBox battery pack charge at the full 15W when charging via magsafe? Thx!

@@Kekafuch It fits great! Doesn’t stick out past the bottom, one of the reasons I returned the Anker 622 one. This OtterBox one even leaves a little room on the sides. I ended up going with the 3K size. Even thinner but you do lose the reverse MagSafe charging capability.

@@Kekafuch yes the charger still works. But with the OtterBox there is no stand so I’m not sure why you’d want to but I just tested it and yes I can turn the phone landscape and it was still charging.

I would rather have pass through charging actually - have just one cable to charge both the external battery and the iPhone at the same time. Other than that, I prefer the Anker because I would use the stand more often than I probably would use the reverse charging.

Tee, if you have time, try putting the otterbox pack on your apple magsafe battery pack while plugged in. I feel like the otterbox will charge but maybe the ios integration may not allow the charging to take place. If it works, I plan on getting this after you try that. Thanks

To do an accurate comparison you HAVE to get the apple MagSafe battery back, I had the anker one but it got mad hot when I was using it and it low key was messing up my battery on my phone, the mag safe battery pack charges my AirPods, my phone without any heating issues AT all and saves my battery life and it charges at a fast 15ish or more watts when connected in comparison to ankers, gotta actually do the deep dive into apple’s MagSafe battery pack you might be surprised

Just got this. It falls off easily, I use a Otter Box MagSafe case. It is nice that I can charge the device wirelessly, but I want it to be able to charge it with a cable also. I dont what to also be carrying around a MagSafe charger in my car also to charge the Power bank.

It’s facts, if you need to use your phone while it’s charging with the Apple one, you battery percentage will stay the same and even drop depends on what you’re doing. I use the one from mophie

Having owned and used the Apple MagSafe battery pack for a couple months now, I have to say I just don’t understand the hate for it. It’s one of the most beautifully engineered products I’ve seen from Apple, and I’ve been using their stuff for several years now. When using the battery pack I literally never use the phone enough to drain the battery entirely and shut off the phone. Sure, my battery percentage will temporarily dip a little when doing heavier tasks like FaceTiming or streaming videos, but I never do this enough to run out of battery, and the MagSafe battery pack tops it back off when I put it back in my pocket. Speaking of which, it’s SUPER easy to pocket because the Apple battery pack is actually small enough to retain a nice compact form factor on my iPhone 12 mini, and the magnet array is super grippy on my leather or silicone cases. It doesn’t have as much capacity as the bigger batteries, but I don’t need a battery that gives me even a 100% charge. I just need a battery that keeps my phone powered on from 7AM to midnight, and the Apple battery pack makes the difference between needing a charger around dinner time or having a solid 50-70% of my phone’s battery remaining when I finally hit the hay. It’s exactly what I need out of a magnetic battery pack.

Apple MagSafe battery will have a higher wireless charging speed. Makes it function as a better “dock” for office or bedside or car where you are always in and out and making the most of charging the phone wirelessly. Not having to click the button to initiate charge is a must as a dock. Will the Otterbox auto charge the iPhone when it’s plugged in? Battery safety, seems the Apple battery has advanced functions that maintain battery health.

Personally I think the Anker is more aesthetically pleasing. The otterbox lettering on the otterbox is kinda ugly. The fact that the otterbox battery can be wirelessly charged is pretty useless to me

All personal preference and I guess you don’t use wireless charging because it’s hard to call that a pointless feature.

Wireless charging of o power bank for me is not very sense full. It take ages and it’s more energy wasting. I use the apple power bank since the beginning and when I see the bulky alternatives i am sure it is the right choice for me. Other people might concentrate on the pure capacity. For me the loading control that works perfect inside Apple products is prior.

Well I don’t find it being slow because for one the battery on the 13 Pro is already great so I don’t rely on the charger so when I need it, it will be full.
