One thing that’s being downplayed is that Tulane is a very good team. They came within a couple of minutes of beating K-State who is an excellent team. Neither Tulane nor Houston should be regarded as patsies just to pad our win total. And since we beat both of them with our 2nd and 3rd O-line, then yes, we will be fine.
Do you genuinely think Tulane or Houston are anywhere close to the same level as TN? TN would hang 40+ on both of them. I'm sry to tell you, but Tulane and NC St are fairly similar. It would be a close game if they played each other. The scariest part about it is that TN pulled their starters right after halftime against NC St. They could've beat them by way more. This game can get ugly very fast, I'm hoping for a good competitive game this Saturday. I just don't see it. Sure, you could show some improvement on offense, but your defense is still the same. From what I seen TN is going to win the line of scrimmage, and im not 100% sure yall can stop TNs run game. I've said a couple of times already that the key to beating TN is a 3-3-5 defense, and you have to have the depth and talent to stop the run with 3 defenders. You've also got to deal with TNs new tight end package.
I was very glad seeing Jackson be able to be more of who he is with the run game. He looked more like what I know of him. Get a good line and best receivers back. The offense will be what we need
@@jeremymccage9213fill me in real quick what the heck 1990 has to do with 2024? Can you draw any parallels for me other than Ou having a football team then? They were ranked 17 at the eoy and went 8-3.
Look how many transfers you’re gonna lose off the offensive line we have to hit the portal or bite the bullet and hope these players develop. Example Bates been in the program for two springs, two summers into fall camps and out of urgency they had to move sexton to guard to make basic line calls . Now he has to play out of position. Not to put more in Jackson’s plate, but at the NFL level, the quarterback makes a lot of the line calls !!! People have been in the program for two years and don’t know who to block I’ve rambled enough
I kind of took the bait this year that OU was bringing in the talent (reps) to augment the complete loss of an Oline. The reality is these guys are hurt and I'm not sure nor have I seen the dominance from any of them? On the next level, we have recruited some apparent talent as freshmen and I love their potential, but look at that one play where Ozeda (going to be great!) made the decision to double-down with the center and watched as a linebacker rushed our QB which resulted in a pick 6? Now, JA could have just taken the sack and should have, but as an ex-QB it's really hard to play, play after play when well when over 50% of the time, one or more of your linemen are effectively giving you "look out blocks. "Look out," because I can't handle this guy in front of me and I should at least yell - "LOOK OUT!" I hope I am wrong, but I cannot see ANY combination of the existing lineman that can give us consistent run plays and enough protection to give a young QB the TRUST that he can have more than 2 seconds to go through his options. I trust the Bedenbaugh is doing all he can with this talent. The real evidence will come at the end of the season - are we able to keep out current stars and will we be able to continue to recruit the talent we need going forward to compete in the SEC "if" we have a disastrous season (6-6, 7-5)??? I'm all OU, and hopefully we can work this out. Boomer!!!
We need Everett(LG) Hickman(C) Anthony(WR) and Anderson(WR) on offense and all of a sudden we will be dangerous with better back ups. We can even lose to Tennessee and win out and make playoffs let’s not panic! Let’s just get healthy and we can win late! We also have key defensive players out so our defense can be elite! Elite defenses win close games, road games and championships! It’s also college football and anything can happen! Let’s get it! BOOMER!
PG we gotta have em back for Tenn. I'm tired of half answers and bad play calling by these coaches.. Get Anderson and Anthony on the field! Almost half the season gone already.
I don’t feel like I’m giving yall a half answer. It’s pretty simple. They come back and the offense has no excuses to not open up. We need them this weekend.
@@1776patriotfreedom against….who? Nc state which will likely end the year with 6-7 losses? Your young qb hasn’t felt a lick of pressure and he’s about to go against one of the best run defenses in the country which will make him one dimensional in enemy territory. This game will be a good one.
What’s been pissing me off is people acting like Tulane and Houston are sec caliber teams. We shouldn’t have been in a 4th quarter battle with either of those teams if we want to win more than 6-7 games this year.
OU offense made improvement against Tulane, got to get a couple guys back on the Oline and at WR. What happened in the third quarter was Tulane started blitzing and OU didn’t pick it up. They made changes and did a much better job in the 4th quarter.
You know, Tulane was a powerhouse team, #1 offense, before the game... after OU beat em by 15 they just stink now, OU should have won by 50. OU is horrible because they won by 15 only. Those kinds of fans and content creators can HIT THE ROAD! HONESTLY SICK OF READING YOUR POS COMMENTS!
@thePGshow_CFB - Why is it nobody talks about the change in stadium vibes when Hawkins came into the game in Week 1? If you were there, you felt the shift.
How is NIL and the portal working, when your trying to mesh an O-line, that has players from 7 different teams, with 7 different coaching staffs 7 different cultures? I like the old way, recruit them at 18 bring them in to OU teach them our history and culture develop them by our coaches and they actually ARE basically raised SOONERS
I love ou football but the only positive thing i see about this team is the dl looks a lot better and the linebacker play is good. the secondary has recivers running wild. Still the same problem. Washinton and walker still gitting beat bad. There is no hope with this oc. Poor ol recruting the last few years and you see the result. It will take some kind of magic to turn the ol around. Sugar coating will not change the facts.
@@-sensibleChris a fool is always fool, don’t you think that that OU got problems, Wait until after the game and maybe you are right, but don’t count on it, the same thing was said aboutN C state.
