I love how Drake Stoops has become “the guy”. Dude has caught two clutch as fuck passes in this rivalry alone, not to mention that high IQ blocking he led for brooks at the end. Love that kid
@@HyperBlueZYZ Bob had a great day, Iowa beat Penn State, OU comes from behind to beat Texas, and his kid makes a clutch reception in the game. He should have bought some lottery tickets, lol.
I agree and have learned to bite my tongue when I have nepotism thoughts about Drake. Really a clinic in blocking by receivers in that game. Watch #12 on both of those 2nd half big TD's by Brooks.
Me and my friend watch the second half right to the last play. When Brooks ran that 33 yards, we were freaking out freaking hugging eachother shouting take that Texas. It was the most amazing game I've ever watched
I had a chance to go but I live in MIchigan and I passed on it……I will have to live with that for the rest of my life. 😖. Coulda, woulda, shoulda, right?
@@dayleframe9570 Look at the Bright Side- That old Cotton Bowl is a Great Place to get your car stolen and a very high crime area. I Always watch our OKLAHOMA SOONERS Play in Norman or on tv because of that. And I live in Lake Granbury,, Tx 80 Miles and a world away from Big D. I have gone to 33 Games in Norman since 2002. I'll be honest and say I thought OU was done at halftime. But somehow with like 3 minutes left in the 3rd, down by 18 everything that could have gone right, did. Mims made 2 fantastic catches, that TD bomb was a thing of beauty. Kennedy Brooks had himself a great game. Caleb Kelly OU's super 6th year Senior made a huge play. And Caleb Williams played amazing. I feel bad for Rattler, even though he is a 3rd year Sophomore, I almost feel like he's a Freshmen, because he didn't have deal with fans in the stands last season. And that's a big thing to grow through mentally. He's just never looked comfortable at all. A part of that is the Line. He needed a better Line to be himself. He's just not elusive enough. I also think another reason why he never looked comfortable, is because he knew Caleb was standing right behind him. And I think everyone with eyes knew who the better player was. Riley knew, which is why he didn't want to play Caleb, because once he did there would be no going back, he very much wanted Rattler to finish up right. But once Caleb took over, the Offense for the first time this season looked like a Lincoln Riley Offense. Defense, OU desperately needs Woody Washington back. But I think this win will get OU rolling again and at least get them to the playoffs. Before this game I was doubting if they'd even win the Big 12.
Wow, I have to say I thought everything you just said was spot on esp the parts about rattler and I have been his staunch supporter from the beginning and I still am but I realize the change that was needed, it’s the offense we thought we had when we started the season and I hope we get to continue to see what we saw yesterday, def need ww back
Rattler hasn't looked like what we saw (after the Texas game) last year. He hasn't looked comfortable in any game (with the exception of Western Carolina). I don't know if it's because of what you said, or if he's just trying to play so cautiously that it's hurting him. Caleb came in and it was a completely different Sooner team (on BOTH sides of the ball). I don't know how Lincoln can not go with CW at this point. I do feel bad for Spencer, but this is clearly Caleb's team. And how about Caleb Kelly's huge play! Couldn't have been a better guy to make that play. As much as he's been though, and knowing that his chances of playing at the next level are slim, he was able to make his mark on the biggest game of the season and seal himself as part of Sooner history in a big way. If Riley goes with Caleb from this point forward, I don't see anyone left on the schedule that can slow our offense down enough to beat us (of course, there's a LOT of ball left to be played, but if Caleb can be thrown into the biggest rivalry in the game, down as much as we were and figure out a way to bring us all the way back and win the game...I'd say he can handle just about anything thrown at him).
@@BoomerKeith1 don't chase the game or Heisman but let the game or Heisman come to you ... Rattler is very talented but once he understands that you can't force things but let it happen naturally he will be ready for the next level ... just sayin'!
@@tianzi49 I think you nailed Rattler's problems. I think he is so worried about making a mistake that he ends up trying to force things when he shouldn't. He also isn't being decisive a lot of the time, which hurts him. When he is decisive (whether it's running or throwing) he's at his best.
Outside of OU vs Alabama during 2014 sugar bowl. This was the greatest game I’ve ever been to. It was an instant classic. I doubt they show re runs of this on Longhorn Network. 😂😂
i didn't get to watch this classic cause i was umpering a college fall baseball tournament, when i went in to the umpire room and saw it was 38-20, not gonna lie, well it's over then while i was umpering out on the field a Sooner fan told me OU had came from behind, right then and there i started jumping up and down yelling OU OU OU, the players and fans at the game thought i was crazy but when they found what i was jumping up and down about they were like "oh ok cool his Sooners won" what a game! OH YOU SOONERS
Fans need to start giving Kennedy Brooks his due. 25 carries for 217 yards and 2 TD’s (1-18 yarder to take the lead, 1-33 yarder to win the game with 3 sec left) He is probably the most underrated back in OU history. There is a reason he started in front of Sermon (NFL) and Stephenson (NFL). He has ran for >1000 yards in his 2 seasons, and I wouldn’t bet against him making it 3 straight this year.
And let's not forget the Long Run that needed a "review" to determine his knee touched before the fumble. If that call of 'fumble' stands.....I doubt we win. In fact, the initiation of that review and seeing the knee down had me in tears of thankfulness.
@@DocSportello1970 I didn't even need the replay to see he was down. It was just a bang bang type of play but I saw he still had the ball just as his knee hit the ground. Good call by the review team to get it right
@Doc Sportello It crushed KB26 too. One of the main reasons he has played so much during his time here, is he protects the ball. I think back and I just can’t think of him fumbling. I’m sure he has, but there has to be very very few. He is running hard, and with a purpose this year. Guys are bouncing off him like he has a rubber suit on. He is a one-cut, straight line, with great balance and body lean running back. Guys that can do that, and protect the ball are millionaires in the NFL. I would’ve love to hear what DeMarco Murray whispered in his ear after the game winning run. I bet it was something like this, “That run just made your future.”
Brooks is noticeably faster and stronger than in 2019. Man has been working hard in the off season and while he was opted out. I'm hoping to see Gray get more success in the passing game as that is his obvious niche. Would like to see both backs get better in pass pro, since they were spotty in picking up blitzes at the Cotton Bowl.
This was a comeback for the ages! We didn’t look good at all in the first quarter. Riley must have said something to them in the locker rooms at halftime. We finished the game with a 35-10 point difference in the second half. That doesn’t just happen. We played with heart.
He said hey we might be the away team today but, this is the cotton bowl it’s OUr House not theirs.. 👀 on the Prize Guys, stick with game plan shutdown Robinson offense line I want blood 🩸 on jersey’s open run holes bully Texas defense
I really feel for Spencer. We forget these college athletes are really just kids. Hopefully he finds a good fit in the transfer portal next offseason and finishes his career strong.
I feel for Rattler man, dude can make throws that very few players in the NCAA can make, but they gave him the Heisman before the season even started, and I'll give him credit, the line play this year isn't that solid and they haven't established the run until this game but he was ignoring open receivers looking for the big play, I think he got caught up in the hype and was playing for the stats and the highlights, not that he made that more important than the team or the win I think he just felt pressured to perform at the Heisman level every play, and no one has won the Heisman looking for the big play every snap. He rarely looked comfortable and even when he had blocking he would run himself out of plays limiting his options looking for the big play, CW just came in and made decisions and bought time or ran when he needed. But I also think there might be something deeper because I've noticed a few times the last few weeks when ratler has gotten sacked no one was there to pick him up, when he threw ints no one except Riley was talking to him, when he ran for that TD he had his HBack wide open and took off anyways and his HBack threw his hands up like WTF and I've noticed a lot of that from Haslewood in response to Ratler ints, scrambles, and missed throws, but as soon as CW took the field the whole team was lit tf up. Hopefully Ratler finds a good fit, I think the PAC12 or the ACC would be a good fit, maybe even a couple of SEC schools, dude definitely has exceptional arm talent, I hope he makes it to the league still as a first round pick
My neighbors probably thought I was going crazy when Brooks scored the final touchdown with 2 seconds left in the game. SOONER Magic is alive and well!
How many folks have watched this video more than once? This is like my third or fourth time, and this is a game I will NEVER forget. Brooks two TD runs (and Mim's TD catch) rank up there with Roy Williams/Teddy Lehman strip and TD or Calcaterra's one handed TD catch!! BOOMER!!!
watched this epic OU comeback in a sports bar inside a resort down in Playa Del Carman. Just an incredible rollercoaster of emotions. What a f'ing glorious day / week that was!
I was sitting on the field w/ the Pride on the OU side... Definitely one of if not the loudest moment of the year, even my ear protection wasn't helping at certain points during the game hah
Something that didn’t make the broadcast was after the last play of the game, one of the OU bench players threw their helmet about thirty feet in the air above the sideline. At 16:57 if you look on the left side of the screen right after the game ends you can see the punter Turk actually hit the helmet down with his hand. Caleb Williams was about four feet away from having the helmet land on him as it came down.
That's just wreckless behavior. That isn't a graduation cap, that is a solid 3 to 5 pounds falling out of the air. Could have given someone a concussion.
Rattler was putting too much pressure on himself…..trying too hard to make plays. OU v UT is soooooo big a game that it can swallow kids alive. They just need to play within themselves and it’ll be OK. OU played the 2nd half so well that NOBODY could beat them. You could just feel the MO sliding from one end of the stadium to the other. Amazing performance.
OU is finally playing a good late game with Williams. Last year, that was their biggest problem. And I don't think it was the play calling, I think Rattler just sucked.

11:42 is the best catch in history. Marvin Mims jr, is still part of our team. TY Marvin Mims Jr for not transferring because he was thinking of transferring.
I haven’t met spencer but I mean he was a 5 star an and does have an arm he just has to get his head back, I honestly would like Caleb to start but I would be ok with rattler and willams playing 50/50 and who ever gets going that game stick with them but forsure Caleb is legit
Its almost unbelievable they put Caleb in, he made that TD and then...they put Rattler back in. ....and that all happened in the first quarter! 28-7/ It's like two entirely different games were played in two halfs. Also: 13:02 The shy but flamboyant burnt orange "surrender cobra". I look forward to its emergence every October.
To be fair it was one play and that play was simply a bust by Texas not a great play by Caleb. What I mean by that is it wasn't Caleb that made that play happen it was Texas being lost that made it happen Caleb just capitalized on their mistake
OU fan here: watched the game again and on the final TD run by Kennedy Brooks, #9 Brayden Willis got away with a serious hold on #47 LB Luke Brockermeyer. Should've been called on the 31 yard line and pushed the Sooners back to the 41 yard line and forced a FG try with :01 sec remaining. Gabe makes it Sooners still win, he misses it they go into OT and then who knows. And don't give me that whole, " Oh they got locked up BS" what does that even mean? It was an obvious hold, even Brayden Willis thought he held him because he immediately threw up his arms which is basically saying I know I did something wrong.
you know it has been talked about from the time immemorial within the Sooner nation and beyond and so I must say it one more time lest the phenomenon shies away due to lack of attention/proper acknowledgement and that is 'SOONER MAGIC' is alive and well and is forever!
Rattler is a great quarterback just not for OU, he doesn't fit the OU system, he doesn't fit Riley's system, Riley's offense has always been establish the run, kill them on the pass game, kill them on the ground, kill them on the pass if you commit to one we'll do the other WITH TEMPO, and Rattler doesn't play like that, he's more of a slow and meticulous, he would do great at a Big10 school
@@dougneal7848 I have to disagree, he plays to win granted he doesn't play the smartest when throwing it into triple coverage, if he played a me first he wouldn't throw into triple coverage because interceptions hurt his image. Plus he would run the ball waaaaaaaaay more than he does, but he doesn't he tries to scramble and throw
@@Black_Death69AC my point is look at the reaction within the team when Caleb came in. When he scrambled for that long TD, Spencer was the only one that didn’t congratulate him. Also, he immediately left the field when the game was over. Did not stay with the team to celebrate. If you watch him on that Netflix show you will see what I mean.
Okay, I’ll be the Devil’s Advocate on the OU QBs. Yeah, Caleb’s a spectacular talent and sparks the team but Spencer’s quite a talent himself and never would’ve got to Norman if he wasn’t. Sure, he did lose a fumble and throw an interception in this game (but did he or Stogner screw up that route? Ether way, it happens) but he also led a drive that got them back from 14-0 and that 40-yard pass down the sideline under duress was a thing of beauty. Then there was that dismantling of Florida last season, among other things. I forgot to mention how, after weeks of being shamed and humiliated in front of God and everybody, he sucked it up, came back in and fired that 2-point pass to Drake Stoops that tied the game. Coach Riley called that the most important play of the game. Give the young man some credit. Maybe he does have temperament issues and could dial down the ego but let’s stand back and see how he handles this. Besides, for now we need a quality backup and Morganthau went to SMU.
