I am so glad that *someone* ... ANYONE else saw this specific moment. Sure Cora was abusive through Regina’s whole life, but this traumatic moment was the one that creates the EQ. It doesn’t excuse everything Regina did but it does offer an explanation and it’s a damn good one. And all Emma can say is “I didn’t know.” No one did, for so long.
That wasn't the moment Regina became the Evil Queen.. when the doctor failed to revive Daniel (per Rumple)..and when Regina killed Rumple's student and embraced the dark magic, that's when she became the Evil Queen (we saw that when she was dressed as such).. then solidified it when she killed the entire village.
+Zylice Liddell I agree, she needed to see this. Though she had met Cora and knew she was evil, she hadn't met Cora at her worst. She asked Regina in season one how she became the way she was. And now she has the answer
yeah, she never understood the consequences of things like her mother when she brought back Zelena, and now she witnessed exhibit A of where it all began. with the stable boy.
@@ChristineTheHippie And that became the means by which Emma would break her own son's heart by ripping out the heart of the girl he loved. She didn't kill Violet but took the page from Cora via Regina's memories.
It's even more impressive because that's Lana Parilla. Pretty much the only version of Regina she didn't play was Regina as a very young child (in the flashback scene where Zelena accidentally opened the blood magic seal on Cora's box).
+Daniel C Regina moved on with Robin so her heartbreak over Daniel is no longer as strong as it was before. Henry suffered his first heartbreak and that can be quite painful for a teenager.
I love how the writers like to rub an old sault in our wounds like it happened yesterday. at least this time Emma saw exactly what happened to Regina and understood why she has been so messed up for all those years.
But it also showed Emma what she had to do in order to free Merlin. She took the page from Cora and upped it 4 fold. "That's next level darkness.. well done!"
To be honest I'm glad that though this moment hurt Regina at least Emma finally understanding how much Regina truly suffered and it was very bonding for them. But I wish she could have had Robin to support her.
"I don't understand how a mother could do something like that". Well, Emma didn't kill Violet, but she forced her to break Henry's heart. And Emma has a heart in her chest, Cora didn't. So this is hypocritical.
SwanQueenxEmisonEndgame Regina never intentionally broke Henry's heart...so by this u mean every time gold does something wrong he should get a free pass bcz he is the dark one! 😑
She may not have actually killed Violet, but she did something FAR worse. She deliberately broke Henry's heart and shattered his trust in her, as his mother. Henry's right. She could have trusted him with the truth. She could have come to him for help. She didn't.
@@CeltycSparrow the reason why Emma become the Dark one in the First fucking place is because she saved regina so dont take this all on Emma she could've easily let regina become evil again But she didn't.
Actually, I think this was what strengthened her resolve. But I think she knew beforehand that Regina's tear wouldn't work, that she needed Henry's. The thing is that she needed to somehow make coming to that conclusion believable, I guess. She played it smart, did the Violet heart-rip and control behind the scenes and then had Regina realize they could use Henry's tear, so it seemed like it was her idea. This moment made that possible.
In this episode Regina told Emma to be careful using dark magic, that she had been on that slippery slope and Emma knew what it had been like for her. Emma responded "With all due respect, I'm not you." I think in this moment she realized how much like Regina she really had become; How weak because of her love for Hook and what she would end up sacrificing or betraying for that love. She was in love, dark, weak, hurting and a mother who ended up doing what she thought was best. Just like Regina and just like Cora.
Ayrlia Welch No she had already collected Regina’s tear by the time she even thought of Henry’s once she had Regina’s she decided that Henry’s would work better but she still had to use Regina’s first so as not to reveal that act of bullshit
I felt bad for Regina here having to watch the events of the worst day of her life unfold again right In front of her and she couldn’t do anything about it
Daniel's death was incredibly gruesome that it always haunted her till she let herself move on . She knows that, knowing that Cora would kill him . She knows that She would become a terrorising angry , vengeful Queen all thanks to a manipulative , crafty , cunning imp who was perhaps the worst influence on her and who used her as a pawn . She knows that she feels incredible guilt and is very scared of who she used to be . She knows that she would go so far that she would kill her own dad . She knows that She tried to kill her own mom too . She knows that she chose anger over hope . She knows that she refused to go in tavern . She knows that she was about to blow up a town . She knows that she would ruin romances . Knowing that what happened to her , after Daniel died and Rumple misguided her , makes this scene one of the darkest in the series . Lana , you nailed it .
@@soixsantes I feel that before Daniel came in her life . Cora was pretty much like Disney 's Mother Gothel feigning niceness. Regina did not have friends thanks to Cora in those days . In Regina Rising , she meets her 1st friend at age of 16 . She hardly had many people in her life so , she had a crush on her painting teacher and later , she fell in love with Daniel . Its weird that both were employees of her family . The way she bonded with Snow as a woman and Zelena as a kid shows that she longed for companionship . Her life was really horrible even before Cora killed Daniel . Corafied means ripping hearts out . But it was Rumple in my opinon who made things worse . Without him , she wouldn't be on a rampage. Worst she could have been without Rumple was just hating Snow and being open about loathing her just like Snape loathed Harry but not enough to want to kill him . And she would be a mean person , not mad for revenge Evil Queen
Remember those words, my dear Emma. You said it yourself...."I don't understand how a MOTHER could do something like that to her own child". And yet....you, yourself, are no better than Cora. For you, yourself, were willing to rip Violet's heart out for the exact same reason. To break Henry's heart for your own selfish purposes.
Cora pretty much wanted to turn Regina into her or make her just like her evil and she pretty much succeed in that for a while but thanks to Henry Regina was able to turn good again and find love again
I think regina needed a scapegoat as she herself said love really does blind people and heartbreak kind of just clouded her vision and ability to think straight.
Emma don’t say “I don’t understand how a mother can do something like that” then moment later u rip out your sons crushes heart and not kill but tell her that to tell your son that your sons crush don’t like him.. wow like wow but I can’t really be mad because I love the show and u but don’t day u don’t understand
For some reason, I feel like this scene is sadder than the original one in “The Stable Boy” (1x18). Don’t get me wrong; it was quite a sad scene in “The Stable Boy” as well, but it’s even sadder in this scene. It’s probably because of the music, or maybe it’s because Emma is watching it with her? I am not quite sure what it is that makes this scene sadder than the original. What does everyone else think?

Then here is Cora accepts finally the union of daniel and régina and give a gift, she sends them in our world (like bealfire at episode 1x19) and a minute later, she turns into régina (with its powers) and takes his place and is married with the father of snow and spread a rumor that daniel is suicide because of the snow, and when emma ward off the curse, she decides to commit suicide and leave video messages
in fact it's because when snow discovered that regina liked daniel, regina asked snow of keep her secret secret she knew, but cora handled snow making her believe that she wanted the happiness of regina and snow at all revealed by accident
